Price Matching Policies for Australian Store Chains.
Jul 04, 2009 - 5:08 PM - by griffin
This is just a reference guide to the price-matching policies each of the different national chains (who sell toys) has in Australia.

Note that these can change at any time, and I will try to keep this as current as possible (if you know of a change by a store, please post it or let me know).

Toys R Us (has the best policy at the moment)
- Will match advertised prices in catalogues, so all you need to do is bring in the catalogue... [Read More]

Target price-matching policy (or lack of, in most stores) and how you can help.
Jul 04, 2009 - 4:50 PM - by griffin
More of an alert to members here who try to price-match stuff - Target is not the place you can rely on for price-matching. It was even confirmed by one store I spoke to, that each store has its own policy, and some stores change it depending on which manager is on. (no, seriously)

I actually enjoyed doing this. It was a lot of fun to get such an odd and varied range of responses to something, every other national store chain has a set policy on.

I rang up 13 Target... [Read More]

Saw the two new volumes of the Animated DVDs (Vol 3 & 4), which takes it up to episode 21 (Garbage In Garbage Out). They were $16 each, so I still think importing the full seasons are cheaper.

(and now, there seems to be a full season 1 DVD released here as well)

Also saw the latest release of the 2007 Movie (same contents, just a slightly different packaging). It's the 2-disc version for $16 (Kmart), and was already Number 4 on their top 10 sellers shelf. It's... [Read More]

OZ July TFs toy sale Roundup.
Jul 02, 2009 - 2:47 AM - by griffin
Four of the national store chains in Australia have their Annual July Toy sales on this month, and three are already underway.

This posting shows which stores have the best sale prices, and what each store has on sale.

If you have these store chains accessable to you, try to get a copy of each one's catalogue, and if you find something at only one store which isn't the cheapest store, see what their price-matching policy is (each store chain is different, and some... [Read More]

Target Toy Sale Jul-23 to Aug 5
Jun 29, 2009 - 12:49 AM - by Stompy
Well thought I may as well start this up since the sneak peek catalogue with NO prices is up. Nothing too special in regards to mainstream Transformers. The Cybertron Optimus and Crumplezone pack may have a decent sale price.

Movie toys now out at Red Rooster (June-July).
Jun 27, 2009 - 8:14 PM - by griffin
At our mini-movie meet today, we checked out the Red Rooster at Garden City and found that they had already started their Movie kids meal toy promo.

They had 2 items available, and the packaging had pictures of five items for this promotion.

I just checked their website, and there are indeed five items, but only one is convertable (like with their 2007 movie promo toys).

Red Rooster main page - ... [Read More]

G.I. Joe Rise Of Cobra (Toy sightings)
Jun 26, 2009 - 12:31 AM - by Lord_Zed
Saw a smatering of the new Rise of Cobra figures at Kmart today, while I'm tempted to get Shipwreck and a few of the more normal soldier looking figures the prices were a complete turn of, it costs almost as much for one Armadillo tank and figure as it does for the tank and Serpentors Air Chariot in the 25th Anniversary line. No doubt Hasbro has loaded these vehicles and figures with lame gimmicks to justify the cost, geeeeezzzz!!!!... [Read More]
