I need all your assistance. Since late last year I caved in to start to buy Classics after seeing the prototypes of Tracks (which is awesome) and Jazz.
Now (as you may know) buying up big for all classics/henkei/united.

I need a list. I just want to collect all that have been G1 figures and including Fansproject stuff that pays homage to the original (i.e. city commander/springer/superion armor kit)

Can you guys assist me putting together a checklist or point me somewhere on the web?

Thanks heaps!

I don't support third party products, so I can't help you out on those, but here are links to TFWiki pages for each toyline in the Classicverse:

Classics (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Classics)
Henkei (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Henkei!_Henkei!_(toyline))
Universe (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Universe_(2008_toyline))
Generations (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generations_(toyline))
United (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/United)
Reveal The Shield (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Reveal_the_Shield)

Hope that helps

Here are some lists for your consideration:

- Classics (2006) (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Classics_%282006%29)
- Classics/Universe 2.0 (2008) (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Universe_%282008_toyline%29)
- Generations (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generations_%28toyline%29)

Those should give you a reasonable start. :)

*Edit: Too late, VP beat me to the punch. :o

When you start buying up every figure you can buy, you never realise how close you are to getting them all until you look at the lists. I know, I was the same when I started to buy up all the Classics figures I didn't have :D

Grand links up top boys! Gonna check them out and compare them against my own when I have the time.

I actually took pics of my whole Henkei collection a couple of weeks ago and was happy to note that I only didn't have Dinobot and Cheetor as I didn't like them. Was really happy to put all 6 seekers together for a group pic! Yesss I have finally decided to release them from their plastic prison! :p

I think it's really hard to come up with a definitive list with this topic as people's judgements differ.

If you're looking for Classics figures "that pays homage to the original" you don't want all the toys in the Classics line. All those Minicons for instance.

There's a lot of toys that are repaints of older and newer toys as G1 homages. Do they count? Or do they only count if they are in similar in design to the first lot of classic toy designs.

Cybertron repaints seem to count as Classics (Ratbat, Springer, Perceptor, Trypticon, Fireflight, etc) but do they count if they are sold in the movie line (Big Daddy, Crankcase, Breakaway)? Most people would not count repaints of movie toys as G1 homages as Classics (ROTF Thrust or Gears) but newer toys like Sea Spray and Bludgeon could really go either way and seems to depend on if people like the toys enough or not.

I prefer the weapons that come with the Fansproject G3 Trailer. And I've personally been disappointed with the Impossible Toys stuff, specifically, I have the Quintesson Judge (which is OK), and the Arcee wannabee (which sucks).
