Just picked up the pre-reg boxset and took some photos, so here they are. More details and photos later (falling asleep right now).

Edit - updated with photos uploaded to my server.

I love the tech spec bios.

I agree! They're probably the best part of this year's set. :D

thanks griffin, Ricochet is tempting......
was hoping that Starscream and Razorclaw's bio spec card was red to represent Autobot, the rest could be purple

Only one problem with the tech specs; Starscreams should be red.

It's a nice looking set, The more I see it, the more I like it.

I can't wait to see Megatron. I hope he's the Voyager and not the Ultra.

Awesome.
Goldbug looks like the pick of the bunch to me. :)

Personally, I like Classics Jazz. He's original coloring and got a new head, so he'll blend well with the existing crew.

Way to make me want this set Mr. Griffin.

Now will have to sell my kidney in order to pay for one aftermarket.

Have to say that as much as I dislike this set, it is very cool. :b I guess I'm bitter cause I can't possibly afford this XD; It's kind of a leap of faith; pre-reg'ing so early in advanced and waiting to see what the set will look like- all the same, it's very cool, and I love how BIG that box is, too :o Cool cool cool :D Great stuff griffin! :D

It's a shame that there is so much emphasis now on what the toys are. It should be on what the event is actually like. At least this year the set is the sort of thing that only hardcore collectors would really want as opposed to last year (it will never end... - and I don't even collect classics :P).

For those who can't attend, the toys and the news coming from Botcon is all we can get excited about... Until we go ourselves. [Tickets reserved for next year :D ]

Okay I cant read the bois , darn even when enlarged, its kinda difficult for a foureyes  like me, I was able to read razorclaw but starcreams caught a little glare. I like the comics that I see that came along with it. wonder if there will be a mass produced tie -in one like the Classics did.

Couldn't keep my eyes open last night, which is a pity because it looks like the other global fansites haven't yet posted photos (I wanted to post links here so I didn't have to take more photos). And I have a full day on today and won't be back to post again until after the pre-registration pickup later tonight (about 14 hours away).
Fortunately there have been official pics of each of these 7 toys already, so I'll just take some extra photos of the biocards for you to read.
When I get back later (going on the Airforce Museum tour, which gets back just in time to line up for the purchasing of the convention toys), I'll post photos of the new stuff, and hopefully some of the other fansites have posted up galleries as well for me to post links to.
I'll edit the first posting to include all the photos so far, and not as attachements.

I can't wait till my boxed set arrives. That looks like the coolest set yet, and the tech spec art is awesome. What's the comic like?

Only good one is goldbug as it's using the best mould, hotshot.

Also another reason it's the best is because they just didn't call it *sigh* bumblebee. I'm glad they used that name of goldbug.

Still haven't had a chance to read it yet, but as a quick flick through, it definitly unusual, but what you would expect if the roles were reversed - an evil selfish Optimus vs a heroic selfless Megatron. It feels more like an intro to an ongoing series, rather than a 'drop in and drop out' by the alternate universe character (Cliffjumper) as a one-off story. It sets up a storyline that I'm guessing will be used for the Collector club and Convention for the foreseable future.
One thing though, is that the whole Sideswipe as a Decepticon doesn't explain itself to me well enough. I don't know if it was just done because they wanted to use the mould and had to create that plot device (the two allegiance symbols on chest), or if they were trying to reflect a real series Decepticon that joined the Autobots (like Jetfire perhaps).

After reading the bio cards you posted griff, I gotta say - I agree on your ongoing series thing here.

It feels like the alternative universe story is just what would have happened under different circumstances, since Optimus was still Optronix, and Starscream was still a prominant scientist.

I love the integration of the "Beast Wars" though, with the G1 Predacons being small as micromasters (well, minicons) in comparison to their Autobot/Decepticon counterparts.

I'll have to visit and read this comic griff, just because it intrigues me so.

Well if you like it, or others want to get a copy, the BotCon comic will again be available through Diamond Distribution (that is, it will be in comic shops).

I'm just about to upset everyone but really, at the end of the day you are just looking at a bunch of recolours done in limited numbers:rolleyes:. Nice pics anyway Griffin.

So Comics, etc. in Brisbane City should have it? Sweet.

I'm still going to raid your house to see the Botcon figures, seeings as I don't think I'm going to be able to afford them for quite some time.

Yeah, but you could say that about Thundercracker too.

Although I think there is a bit of remolding done too this year. Not as extensive as last year tho.

sadly all the repaints are happening/started off from the Armada -> Energon -> Cybertron series
