Supposed to be released today. Tried Target but they didn't have it. When I went to JB Hi-fi they said the truck to Perth had an accident  and that no store in Perth (K-Mart, EB Games etc) would get the game till Monday or Tuesday. :( Curses... :o

At least I can put my concentration back into writing and completing my thesis, until next week... :o

I went and picked it up at lunch and plan to play it for many an hour over the next 3 days.

These are the prices I have found on various stores catalogues and websites:
TRU: $74.99
Big W: $76.84
Kmart: $77
JB Hi-Fi: $79
Target: $79.95
Gamesmen: $87.65
EB Games: $99
Game: $99

Turns out EB Games did get them, because they used a plane to carry their stock... :o

But all shops are closed today... Should I pay EB $100 tomorrow, or wait till Monday/Tuesday? It's actually pretty tough to decide... :o:p

Wait till monday or tuesday.

I was in the same boat. I went running down to Big W all full of Mario Kart excitement (I am a mario kart virgin and I was hoping to change that yesterday) but all to no avail. I even charged the batteries for my Wiimote in anticipation.

NEVER pay full price for a game.

Not long now though, waiting waiting.

It's the same as the 64 and GC games... but different.

The AI is super cheap with their items too. I've found it easier to sit in second or third and then make your move in the final third of the lap, otherwise you'll get pelted with shells. The 'POW' box sucks too, I really hate it.

Only played multiplayer for about 2 hours yesterday, have unlocked the first 6 cups, multiplayer is a heap of fun, but Im not sure of the 32 tracks will be enough, I was getting sick of a few of the retro tracks after only 2 hours. Hopefully we will be able to download extra retro tracks online, even if they cost $1 or $2 each.
