Goldbug and Trailbreaker have finally started to show up in my local area, as have the rest of the RTS Legends figures and at $6.64 each They're a bargain!!! ;):cool:
I grabbed Soundwave for 2 reasons, 1. He is Soundwave :p, 2. He was $2.98!!! :eek::D
Very strangely, my local Big W has restocked in ROTF Legends figures and stupidly, apart from Soundwave, they're all the ones that have Peg-Warmed for over a year now - Who the hell do they employ to manage the Toy Departments around here?:confused::rolleyes:

A Reveal The Shield Battle In Space pack, A slightly Dyslexic Grapple and one slightly less than glorious Lugnut from Target. He's neat but there seems to be a 2 milimetre thick section of cockpit missing. Not entirely sure If I should take it back or just ignore it as he'll be spending most of his time in bot mode. And Yes, this is another instance of Shoddy QC for me in the Reveal The Shield line.

I caved in and bought the Battle In Space pack on special at Target. :p I might keep Cyclonus as "Armada"... undecided about Rodimus (might keep him so I can display one in vehicle mode).

I haven't opened the toys yet (I opened it up and took the comic out to read it, which was the main reason for getting this set... boy was that disappointing (-_-)) -- so I'm not sure if the Matrix comes with a chain to sling around someone's neck (like Galvatron II did). If it does then I'll put it on my Universe Galvatron's neck... if not then I'm not sure if I want to keep it. :/

Still giddy with excitement over todays haul! :p While Universe Inferno didn't do a lot for me, I reeeally dig United Grapple. The head sculpt is so much nicer, the shade of orange used is spot on (glad they didn't go brighter/darker) and that crane is a monster!! Very cool toy, highly recommended.

Universe Cosmos was next to be de-carded and once again I'm really impressed. Like the Classics seeker mold, the execution of updating a G1 toy was nailed 100%. He's up there with Legends Wheelie (both versions) & the recent Megatron for me. A must have!

I like both. Universe Cyclonus' darker purple is more G1 toy-accurate and thus more like the way he was (usually) coloured in the G1 comics. Also, Cyclonus was coloured in a darker purple in the fourth season of the US cartoon when he became a Targetmaster - so really, for Targetmaster Cyclonus the Universe colour is more show-like too. RtS Cyclonus' colours ("mid" purple) are quite accurate to his colours in Transformers The Movie, but I think Henkei Cyclonus' colours (more lavender) are more accurate for Season 3.

I like RtS Cyclonus because he does have the TFTM colours, but more appealing for me is the lack of mismatching colours on the thighs which was a problem with Universe Cyclonus. RtS Nightstick's colours also beat Universe Nightstick's colours hands down.

I was disappointed that the Matrix didn't come with a neck chain (I would've loved to have hung it around Universe Galvatron's neck), but I was impressed that it's shinier than New Year Convoy's matrix. :)

I agree, I saw (in Deceptic Optics collection) the black head version and it looks so much better, the Black tends to end the monotonous orange color of the figure and makes it more interesting, the UNited all orange version kinda looks dull. Though I wish somebody put some chroming effort to the hook :(:(, ah well looks like Ill be painting this figure when I get one.

It's crazy how expensive United has gotten here in HK (and even in SG I heard). The latest Wave (Perceptor, Kup, Blurr and Wreck Gar) retailed for about HKD$180/piece for all of 5 days and each piece jumped to HK$250 thereabouts. In SG, I heard that United Wreck Gar is going for SGD$50 or more. That's just nuts.

Got myself a Battle in space pack, was surprised that the matrix was metal.

Mate brought me back RtS Ironhide and an old TF movie interrogator Barricade from the USA. Was not really interested in either figure, but hey it was very nice of him to grab them for me, and they were so cheap it ends up being two for hte price of one figure bought in Australia.

Also painted up an old KO figure, but will take pics later when I finish some more.

It's not whether I can afford it, it's the justification in spending $400+ for a MISB or AFA graded item that will forever remain sealed simply for the sake of nostalgia.

Think Transformers the movie - Unicron finally comes to Cybertron and so every Cybertronian defends the planet without distinction anymore for whose allegiance is what.

Basically the story is that a United alliance of Cybertronians ( Autos and Decepts) have been teleported back to Cybertron to defend and defeat Unicron. This was done by a Possessed Emirate Xaaron ( the glowing ascending guy) - possessed by Primus himself.
He explains to all his "children that the chaos bringer must be defeated only by joining forces can they succeed and so they did.

Powernaster Prime is struggling to free the goodness in the Matrix ( the one thing which can defeat Unicron) since it has been tainted by Thunderwing's malign influence ( when he has gained control of the artifact - but later on been possessed by the matrix - See Marvel G1 - Matrix Quest). During this time Scorponok is leader of the Earthbound decepticons and has agreed to the alliance and died a hero in Prime's arms while attacking Unicron. Bludgeon takes leadership after....

As the story goes, Prime is able to free the goodness of the matrix but with the cost of sacrificing himself ( Prime's love doing this out of habit :p) which then paves the way for the introduction of Actionmaster Prime but that's a later story. Grimlock gets to be leader ( actionmaster Grimy) as per Prime's last wish relayed to Prowl.

The Marvel run from Matrix Quest onwards to issue 60 in US got me hooked , earlier issues are a bit of hit and miss story wise for me.

In UK G1 comics continued on with Rodimus being leader etc etc, thus have more comic # and also had different storylines, but was effectively tied up to the continuity of US whe Furman took reigns of the comic wrtiting for both. The UK comics has these freebie connect to make a big poster at the middle which you get when you buy religiously the issues - which are hard to come by nowadays WITH them posters ( as per 5FDP):) Hope that helps, other data Im sure Gok can provide

yup it was... I just wish theyd re do those stories but with todays art and drawing, that would be so awesome....the Tfs had character development back then, nowadays its get in as much Tfs in the pics for fanboy thingie but with nothing happening much to the story....:(:( Those were the times when you REALLY cant wait for the next issue to come out to see what happens ... not this drivel cliffhanger IDW tries to do but fails miserably... their idea now of a cliffhanger is basically cut to the middle of what is about to happen.. see next issue...in the back of your mind, "But nothing yet has happened!!1 What do you mean the story is over for this issue?!?"

Which is why a lot of people ( well oldies hehehe like me) got really excited when Generations Thunderwing got issued ( and was announced last Botcon) because basically the G1 figure sucks - there I admit it:D:p , BUT Furman made these characters oh so BAAAAAAD - Thunderwing, Bludgeon, Scorponok and full of character and life....

yeah, there are some things in that poster that are, strictly speaking, canonically incorrect. It show's Prime pulling the Matrix out of his chest -- Powermaster Optimus Prime never had the Matrix in his chest. He's even admitted himself that had he known what influence his writing would have, that he would've bought a box load of Bludgeon toys and made a motza by selling them today. :p

Well, here it is! After years of scouring eBay and online comic shops, I finally have the full set of the hand-painted Geoff Senior posters of Unicron's attack on Cybertron which featured in issues 320 - 322 of the Marvel UK comic series :D:D:D

This has been my holy grail for years and my quest has come to an end. It's hard enough getting any of the issues post 300; it's almost impossible to find them with their free gifts still attached.

Now, to get it framed :cool:

Nice one man!!! Man that United Wreck Gar stands out so much with the Metallic paint you could mistake it for diecast!! Can't wait to get my United Wreck Gar, I have 3 Hasbro ones and waiting for the other Hasbro one with the different heah sculpt and the e-hobby version. That should be enough junkoins for me!! :)

Apart from Hurricane they are in very top condition! I think the original owner never applied the applicable stickers and lost them because they didn't come with the lot.
