We've heard the words 'coming soon' often from FunPub when it comes to BotCon registrations... but still be ready just in case this time it is true.

Emailed to members today:

In case you still need a room for BotCon 2011 we have added a 3rd hotel to our blocks. Go to BotCon.com (http://botcon.com/) to make your reservation now! We had to enlarge that block today to make sure everyone can get a hotel room that needs one.
Registration is still not available as we are working out some last minute venue issues for part of the show. We will send out an email to all past BotCon attendees when registration goes live and then one to the club membership, so if you get two, we just want to make sure we got you covered.
I can tell you this - we will not be offering a first 100 pin this year. Instead we will offer a first day of registration pin. So, if you register in the first 24 hours after registration goes live, you will receive this special first day of registration cloisonne pin!

The third hotel is called the Pasadena Marriot Courtyard (http://www.botcon.com/botcon2011/hotel11.cfm), and is six blocks away, which could be a bit of a walk, but if affordable it would still suit people who don't expect to be buying too much in the dealer room.

I forget but last year did we fax our registration or did they have it working as an online system?

So, Potentially this week?

is there a members only location that we could post to if we see that it's open to give otca members the best chance of getting in to the custom class.

Hoping this topic (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=10261) will help people here organise their purchases and extras, and be alerted to when the registration forms are online.

I've been collecting for 11 years and that whole time I've avoided getting a credit card but now that I want this years botcon set I went and got one last Friday. It's not due to arrive until around the 12th of this month so what I need to know is is the registration based on past experience likely to start before then and is your card charged for the set when you register or closer to botcon?

I was wondering how registering works. I haven't done it before.

The Iacon pack is for non-attendees right? And that gets me a box set.

I know I'd have to get the attendee freebie from someone who went or ebay, but how would I get the other exclusives like the 2 packs they have?
Someone/ebay or am I able to order them as well?

Last year there were huge delays for the registration and it did not start until 19 May (for people attending).

They planned for people not attending to register the week later (but it took until 3 June US date).

They charged my credit card the same day (4 June AUS date).

You will need your credit card as they have this rule if you've never ordered anything from the Club before:

Upon your first order, you will need to fax us a copy of your credit card, front and back as well as photo identification, which shows your signature to 817-448-9843. If a credit card transaction is made through our site without the fax confirmation of your identity, we reserve the right to CANCEL THE ORDER less the online service fee and $25 per package cancellation fee.

Yes, the Iacon/Non-attendee pack gets you the box set only sent to you a month or two after BotCon.

You can't order the other exclusives. You have to be there to buy them, get someone there to try and buy them for you, or ebay them

So, I'm keen as to register for Botcon, so far this week there hasn't been a change to their website, which is the first week in a month and a half that nothing has happened.

I realise that no-one will know but does anyone have a feeling as to when registration might start? If I keep looking at the website every time I log onto a computer every day I'm going to lose it.

Last year it took until late May for registration to start for a convention in late June, so you may have to be a bit more patient.

Just remember, they will release their online brochure before registration starts, so that you know what is on offer. (which will help give a bit of warning of when registration will soon start)
