Rodimus & Cyclonus: which to keep?

So I got BiS Rodimus and Cyclonus today on special. Not sure if I wanna keep them as well as my Classics/Universe versions, or get rid of a pair. Anyway, hypothetically speaking, if I were to get rid of a set, which should it be?

I just did the same, now i have 2 sets. I figure i'll try toget the protector armour for my classics Hot Rod (not transformers i know but why not?) and i'm going to see how RTS Cyclonus looks with my animated,

I would keep both. An armada for Cyclonus and a Hot Rod since my classics got some armour.

Well, I practically bought the BIS pack to justify buying the armour for my classics rodimus... and I will have a Cyclonus and his armada.

erm the thing is we are forgetting this is Gok btw guys, he doesnt buy unofficial stuff so he doesnt have the 3rd Party Protector Armor ( unless someone gives it to him) so if ever you keep both, the RTS would be better off in Alt mode as he is darn too bright. Cyclonus wise- well it depends on which color scheme you prefer to be put in as the "Armada" and which to be Cyclonus.

I was actually thinking Classics Rodimus would look better displayed in alt mode as the RtS one seems plain and has those painted-in windows, whereas Classics Rodimus has more extensive flame decos and clear windows.

The BiS Matrix is shinier than the New Year Convoy Matrix. Otherwise they're the same (even the copyright stampage is the same, marked '02)

I'll keep that in mind if I do decide to sell the whole set (though at a further loss since I've already opened it).

Atm I'm inclined to keep the toys now... after all I effectively got 2 Deluxes for the price of 1 (RRP). The Matrix on the other hand... still undecided since it doesn't come with a neck chain. :(

Heh, yeah... this actually did cross my mind shortly after I purchased the set. ;) I'm always happy to accept donations... but it's probably not gonna happen anytime soon. :p

Well, without protector armour,you kind of have a spare hot rod, but I'd be keeping the cyclonuses for sure,especially with scourge coming out.

Classics. Better paint apps and better quality.

If you keep both I'd put classics in robot and the RTS one in vehicle mode, looks more cartoony in vehicle mode.

I'm thinking I might keep the Matrix after all - put it in my 2000 Convoy reissue's chest... or maybe put it in Ultra Magnus' chest! (Optimus Prime's chosen successor!) :D

Well, If you don't have Protector then keep Classics Rodimus (Ihave protector so now BIS Rodimus is my Hot Rod) because as nice as he looks his plastic feels cheaper and a bit fragile. Clearly Cyclonus is the Jewel of that set!

I did notice a lot of the ones on the shelf had stress marks in the left elbow of the rodimus when I was picking mine.

Also some looked as if they had been dropped in the factory, onto a really hard floor, dinged corners and scratched paint...

RtS Hot Rod may be more 'toon accurate but he certainly ain't no TFC Starscream. Still, you may as well keep him. Perhaps display him in alt mode on you desk at work? That's probably what I'll end up doing with mine...

As for the Cycloni, they're all flipping fantastic so hang onto 'em all I say! :D

I would keep the Classics one, it's color is much more vintage toy accurate and although the RTS one is brighter, I wouldn't call it more accurate to the cartoon.

I own a Reprolabelled Classics Hotrod and a Henkei Hot Rodimus. Since the Henkei one looks more 'majestic' due to the chrome, I upgraded him with the Protector armor with the Side Arm chrome spoiler extensions.

Dude, if I ever put Transformer toys on my work desk I'd probably end up playing with them heaps and not get my work done! :p

I think Classics Rodimus looks much better than RtS Rodimus in vehicle mode. Aside from the clear windshield, it also has flames on the sides which is more G1 accurate. RtS Rodimus certainly looks quite 'cartoony' which, to me, works in robot mode, but looks tacky in vehicle mode.

Nah, all the toys on my Animated shelves are strictly Animated toys only. RtS falls under "Classicsverse" for me, so they'll have to be displayed on my Classicsverse shelves. I don't like to 'repurpose' toys for display purposes... although I will repurpose them for toy play. ;) So I next time I get the chance, I'll throw RtS Cyclonus into a play campaign with Animated (get him up against Animated Rodimus!). :)
