Received this guy yesterday from Robotkingdom and must say that I was quite surprised how small he is in alt mode - he's about the same size as HFTD/AA Hailstorm/Mindset in alt mode.

I found the transformation on him quite clever and intuitive - I especially love how his head pops up when you push his tank turret in.

In bot mode, he's still on the 'smallish' side but still quite reasonable next to other deluxe figures - he was a Minibot in G1 after all.

He's well articulated and quite easy to get into various poses for display value - however his ankle does lack a fair degree of movement due to the transformation sequence.

The only thing I dislike about him is the ridiculous length of his shoulder missile, but this is easily rectified by applying a pair of side cutters to it.

Seeing that he's on the tail end of the Generations series and may not even get launched here, he's a definite must buy at any price.

Even if you have to mail order him (that's if you can find an online retailer that has stock), buy it!

Overall, 9 out of 10

I also love this guy

+ Colour is spot on
+ Cool yet simple transformation
+ Robot Mode (K4-90W)
+ Head Mold
+ Roller tread feet (ZOW-333)
+ Great articulation

- Shoulder weapons should've use clip on system and been removable
- Alt mode small H-tank
- Back of tank suffers from TFA:Blurr syndrome
- Popeye forearms

Overall 9/10

I don't have TFA Blurr... please elaborate?

Popeye forearms are cool! Makes him look tough... lol :D

Maybe a slight exaggeration but I just feel he is missing something on the rear end of his alt mode.

Right... I get what you mean now, but that's a bad thing?

It doesn't bother me in the slightest :p

I was being a bit picky. :) I love the mold and character. I could've also said I wished his head flap cover folded all the way back in robot mold :p

It also doesn't really bother me as he will be staying in bot mode forever

He's not Warpath unless his feet are joined together in one solid block :p

I wonder if the DOTM toy will be a retooled version of this guy. At least that way there will be some hope of getting him locally.

| love it! Great vehickle mode and the robot mode is spot on! Sure he doesn't have any ankles, but it doesn't detract majorly. Sure he might look small for a deluxe, but it fits in fine with his mini-bot status.\

Plastic colour is perfect, pretty good articulation, great moulding and even the weapons stuck on the the back of his head don't bother me much. It would've been nice if they had the clip things and made the missile launcher a possible gun, but hey its's all good baby.

The only negative I see is with the gap between his fists and the top of the fore-arm is a bit ugly.

I bought an extra Breacher for the gun to clip onto his forearm and have now decided I prefer it without... Still, it looks good on him in tank mode.

No sign of a united version is there? But it would be really hard to improve this.

Definitely a must buy!:D

Not sure why, but I had imagined him to be bigger. I was a little surprised (pun intended) at the comparison pics. Still, looks like an awesome figure. Not as good as the Gen1 version, but pretty close. ;)

An exceptional toy!

* Fun alt mode
* Simple, but elegant transformation
* Good articulation
* Great head mold

Any news about this guy's local release?

Besides the email that Hasbro sent as a reply (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=10483) (which can be taken with a grain of salt since we all know how reliable they are), there's been no real sightings or other news regarding it's local release.

It doesn't bode well for a local retail release since even RK haven't re-stocked after they sold out of the original batch and BBTS still haven't received their stock yet (originally slated for March release)

Thanks for the info.

I hope United also releases him as that would increase the available numbers of this figure.

BBTS has the preorders for the full case of eight, with Wheeljack, Thundercracker, Kup, Scourge, I've got it in my pile of loot, I'm still waiting for the three pack case with wheeljack and Thundercracker though.

They don't have any stock on hand for any of the Warpath (loose, set, case or otherwise) - it's all still listed as 'pre-order' (with a March 2011 release date).

I have already paid for the case of 8, it is currently sitting in my pile of loot. I do know that it is still listed as a pre order, but when the money has been taken from my account and the BBTS website states that it is my pile of loot, then I can only assume that they did get some stock in, just not much.

Interesting - I'm not that familiar with BBTS as I have only placed one order through them before.

Nonetheless, Warpath's pretty scarce and limited (for now).

I received my Warpath yesterday! Huzzah!!
I like him! The tank mode just seemed small when I saw him in package, but when fully considered I think it works out best this way. He is a nice size for a. Deluxe in bot mode and I think he will fit in very well on my shelf.
That said, no idea why his light piping was cast in black plastic...
But that said I intend to repaint this sucker here and there. Including the eyes of course.

Only thing that bugs me is how over his fists there is a gap in bot mode. :/ other than that I do like the transformation and the whole package!

Did you order a case? I did and I know others have who have the same problem. Ive read elsewhere that this might be because BBTS are filling the smaller orders with warpath first since they are lacking warpaths.

Yeah, I ordered a big case to go halves with my brother. It's in stock and paid for as of this morning now. Plus, the shipping is automatically express due to the size of the order - 8 Deluxes and 3 Voyagers, $250 including shipping - not bad, plus no need to hang around Kmart and Target like some creepy pedo waiting for them to turn up in stock.

The bigger stores need to learn that kids will generally only buy one of each figure and that stocking 200+ (ugly) Payload figures isn't going to work out in the long run.

Now that I own him, I have to say he is the single greatest figure I have purchased this year. Fun to transform, the auto-morphing for his head is kinda cool. Love the silver paint on the treads. Head looks great.

Only drawback is the feat not being super poseable, but then again, neither for his G1 counterpart :p

This fig is amazingly cool. When I first heard about Gen Warpath I was like yeah- another classics fig... but after experiencing it in hand- nice.

Alt mode is okay... I don't mind it. The transformation is simple, but effective. Love the little automorph gimmick.

Bot mode is just awesome- head/face sculpt is perfect in person.
Poseability isn't the greatest- due to the way the forearms and legs/waist are engineered. Also does not have a waist/chest swivel in bot mode- so has to turn to face his targets I suppose.

Very minor nitpicks:
-Long missile- wonder if Takara version will shorten this? (Easily fixable)
-"Kapow" lettering- don't like that - always seems tacky.

Overall very nice- it is a must buy. period.!!

Re: Hardhead:
Took apart the head- its not on a ball joint-but if the remould is indeed Hardhead, there is potential to have the headmaster sit in the tank cockpit :D

Wont it be too large of a head if it was the headmaster figure ( on the supposedly Hardhead repaint) used as a head?

Sorry.. I mean to say "stand". The headmaster (if there is one) has to fit.. since the head has to fit within the same width of the hole.

+great design & update to G1
+fun to transform
+great range of movement

-red is kind of dull (and not vibrant enough for my own tastes)
-no voice chip with KAPOW, BLAM and so on.
-shoulder weapons are kind of stupid and non detachable
-hands cant rotate

best warpath toy ever.

I love the robot mode, a really good figure, and worth the effort to get him. Tank mode could be better and it's a bit small (he's the same length as PCC Heavytread...), but it's amazing that the robot mode is standard deluxe height. Transformation was much more interesting and fun than I initially expected, only gripe would be the gap above his hands.

Lint

I'm really dissapointed by this toy. While the QC was to a good standard most of my gripes are with the design.

PROS
-Generally good QC, joints are reasonably tight and paint apps are immaculate given the difficulty level (there was a smudge of overspray though)
-Adequate paint apps in decos in general. Doesn't feel like anything's missing. KA9OW and ZOW333 decos are tasteful. I really like the shade of maroon plastic too.
-Balance. Treadfeet makes him very stable in robot mode. Great for poses.
-Transformation. Sweet and simple as it should be.

CONS
-Head reveal joint is floppy and it's STILL difficult to flip out. I have to use the missile to dig it out evrey single time. Personally I don't like the face sculpt, looks way too much like a Decepticon. I know it's hailing back to the G1 toy but I would rather of had a comic/cartoon head sculpt.
-Gimmick doesn't work. If you're going to put a missile gimmick at least make it work. Though I would have much rather preferred a chest firing or chest-recoiling gimmick I do acknowledge that it may have made the toy look like turd.
-No waist articulation. This REALLY hurts this toy as the number of awesome poses he is capable of is no longer over 9000. This is my biggest problem with this toy.
-Lack of accessories. Warpath has awesomely located hardpoints for the clip weapons. Why couldn't they have supplied a bunch of clip accessories instead of the crappy non-firing missile? I hope a 3rd party manufacturer capitalises on this.
-The top hatch can't close in robot mode. I'm really nitpicking now but this really annoys me :p

One of the problems with being a selective collector is that you often come late to parties such as these. I only just acquired a Gens Warpath.
In summary, I must say that this is an awesome figure. Straight out the packet I was stoked with it (often it takes me a while to warm to a figure).
Sure its not perfect (see Lint's previous post - he hits the nail on the head), but its very good for a deluxe. Looks great, poses well (despite no waist ), good playability, and simple playformer transformation. Good colours, good QC (best joints of any new figure I've acquire in recent times), and nice mould detailing.
Also the more time you look at it, the more you can appreciate the homage to G1 Warpath. IMHO, probably one of the best homage to date.
Usually with tank-formers, we're happy if the turret can rotate 360. Warpath can do this as well as elevate to 25degrees! (yes, I measured it).
Is there another alt-mode tank (or something resembling a tank) that can do this? (probably...)
Make sure you don't miss out on this figure, especially if your boat is not being floated by the DOTM range.

They've been doing tanks really well recently.
If you haven't got him i would recommend Generations Darkmount, he has the same turret ability.
His transformation is more involved, he has more kibble - but he looks great in both modes.
I wasn't expecting to like him at all, but he turned out to be one of my favourite figures from last year.
