I too once owned the Mad Mobile and I loved that toy, I also used to have the doll that you describe Ed as he was about 30cms tall with extendible/spring loaded legs, Mechanek-esque extendible neck, I think the arms used to extend also with firing fists and a hat that one could plug in either his third hand which held a huge Mallet or an Umbrella or you could plug in his Gadget-Copter! :D

These were really well made toys for their day and had a lot of playability. :cool:

Totally cool, I was only ever lucky enough to get the MAD Car but I still have it at my parents place. I should check it out next time I'm at home to see if it still all works. we could combine our mad car collections to make a fleet!

the mad mobile is a great toy,the jet was a good getaway mode (as in the show)...the submarine mode was good for lurking (on the bottom of the ocean in the show)& overseeing evil plans!

Looking at more pics of your car. It is different to the one I had. The transformation was simple. The front was about the same but you just took the back off and flip it around. The colours were also different.

:eek: wow,that is interesting and would be great to find out exactly what yours was,Vert!
the one pictured is approx 18.5cm from to back...about 14cm across the front wheels and the body is about 6.5cm across the body at the car roof...to give an idea of size.both cars were purchased in a window box with a foam tray insert new in the 80s.:cool:

I also had the Inspector Gadget toy with the cloth coat, and all the gadgets.

Argh! - TJ that is the exact Mad-Mobile I too had as a kid (sans the face-missiles :o) and I absolutely loved it... I honestly cannot recollect however what happened to it which makes me a lil' sadder now. :(

I got those Mad mobile and Inspector Gadget cars brand new in the box in the early/mid 80's.I haven't looked for where to buy any of these recently.Both cars are made of plastic and diecast by Bandai.From memory they had a box and molded foam tray like the large Inspector Gadget doll,which i no longer have for mine.
