Future Generations figures

Hi guys,

Thought I'd share some information from a good source about Generations/Classics/United news.

Re-Release of New figures
Takara Tomy
United will re-release UN11-22 in September.
United is considering continuing this line to 30
United figures suggested are as follows:
Warpath
Cliffjumper
Ultra Magnus
2 set Windcharger/Tailgate
plus 2-3 new figures


Hasbro
I also understand that in Sept there is another shipment of toys. Expect an announcement around botcon on some new figures. Rumors are Trailbreaker, Hoist, Skids to be created as new toys. Skywarp, Cliffjumper, Mirage and a number of figures already released to be re-released under Generations lines. As a result there will be multiple cases with Warpath.

From my discussions with a person who is very much in the know, it seems that Hasbro/Takara listen to fans and will respond. Announcements around Botcon.

Concerns they have:
#Issue with 3rd parties is primarily focused on a breach of IP from Igear. Investigators are involved trying to resolve how the toy manufacturer breached their contractual requirements (its pretty serious stuff and may cost alot of jobs)
#They are surprised in the sudden surge in popularity in the past 6 months of generations/classics and will be releasing more figures as well as continued manufacturing post TF movie.
# New line in Japan will incorporate DOTM and G1 figures double pack including Op Prime/Megatron (as well as starscream, ironhide. ratchet etc)

It was a great chat for about 30 mins. I think my source is now figuring I actually collect transformers... I was giving him the impression I was extremely knowledgable in everything... :)

Well that's certainly great news for people that missed out on alot of those figures in the first release. And if Cliffjumper has a retooled head, I will def buy it. And Skywarp if it is a better paint app :p

well if all this comes to pass, AWESOOOME!!!! We should see then a decline in the prices of those Classics on Ebay:D Good chance for all those that missed some figures too like mirage et al....Tailgate ei? well it's a logical repaint just wish they didn't 2 pack him I already got Windcharger but good for those who don't have it. .... Still no proper Arcee figure then, yup, Hasbro keeping in with tradition. I am still hoping for better versions of the cassetrons for both factions.

Glad to see that the line is going to continue and plus the reissues such as Mirage and Cliffjumper. Seen these when they first came out and never bothered with them but now I wish I did.

But anyway glad to hear and no doubt the guys who go to Botcon can and will inform us on what may happen with whats going to happen.

Excellent If this is true, I was hoping for Hoist and Trailbreaker!. Great news about re releases of earlier classics figures. It makes alot of sense to do this.

it would be the Voyager Optimus repaint most likely since skywarp was mentioned - and they're currently a somewhat expensive combo due to rarity so having separate re-releases sounds great!

The skeptic in me finds it all a bit hard to believe, it seems a bit to good to be true, as it's all pretty much exactly what collectors wanted for the next Generations releases, so un Hasbro like. I'll welcome if it it does come to pass though.

I do wonder for UM if they would give the Henkei treatment? Since this is presumably a United release... I hope they don't axe the chrome and give us the shiny metallic- which wouldn't be bad, but not as awesome as it chrome would be.

It would probably have a different app- whiter white/ slight changes in detail to differentiate from the Hasbro version.

It needs to be done. Ultra Magnus is the definition of a classic Transformers character. They went all out for the G1 toy so how can they not do it for Classics...They must!

it would be nice if they made better combiners/gestalts. looking at TFC Devastator, TT/H need to improve that area badly if Generations/RTS is an indication of the quality of the tributes to original Transformers. I'd love a modern Menasor that isnt a RF custom.

Good point Loopster, it would be great to see more 'cons in future Classics line-ups!

I agree with you & kaiden, a new mold Motormaster especially would seriously rock the house. Ahh, so much fun just thinking of the possiblities :p

Not only gestalts, but I think the problem with the decepticon army is the non-generic alt modes. E.g.

-Gestalts
-Blitzwing
-Insecticons
-Shockwave
-Reflector
-Soundwave

Besides Blitzwing, these are all characters with such unique alt modes that aren't jets or tanks- which Hasbro excuses as not marketable to kids.
Furthermore, subteams such as Insecticons, gestalts/ dinobots are apparently not sellable under the current retail system (by waves).

Yeah, I'd be surprised too considering how much it would cost. Ultra Magnus is already a Voyager Class which is on the upper price point end -- a trailer would jack it up to Ultra or possible Leader Class price.

Although if HasTak did give Ultra Magnus a trailer, I'd expect them to do a better job than City Commander. I think City Commander's quite nice for a fan effort, but I would be really disappointed if an official trailer/armour was like that. Things that I would expect over City Commander would include:
+ Having the trailer as a mostly singular unit that transforms into the armour rather than disassembling into bits and pieces. Even if it had to separate into a few pieces, I wouldn't want to to be nearly as much as City Commander.
+ Incorporating all of the trailer into the armour. Never liked how City Commander has that BFG in armour mode -- it's even too big and heavy for Ultra Magnus to wield!
+ Easier to attach and detach... I find some of City Commander's components (particularly the leg armour) feels like they're gonna break each time I take them off.

However one really nice feature I like about City Commander that I'd like to see HasTak emulate is how it's compatible with G1 Ultra Magnus' weapons, like how G1 Magnus' shoulder launchers can clip on. If HasTak were to make an armour/trailer for Magnus, it wouldn't surprise me that they'd do this - especially considering how they made RtS Optimus Prime compatible with G2 Laser Prime's trailer. :)

But I doubt Ultra Magnus would come with a trailer. They'd more likely keep it cheaper and more affordable for parents... if fans really want a trailer/armour, they can always go buy themselves that 3rd party City Commander that HasTak pretends doesn't exist. ;)

If by "went all out" you mean they took an already existing Diaclone toy (http://diaclone.net/orid/dia057/index.html), removed the transformable buggy (http://diaclone.net/orid/dia057/05719.jpg) robot (http://diaclone.net/orid/dia057/05721.jpg) and repainted it (http://diaclone.net/orid/dia057/05747.jpg)... yeah sure. :p ;)

I hope Tailgate has a retooled head. He doesn't need the hand "magnetisers" either, but I imagine they'll keep that... hopefully explain them as something else in the bio.

I have the case box. The only code I see on it is 98452942A. I think that would be the asst code.

Most of the boxes I've seen will have the wave writen on it somewhere. I don't have an example I can show but it's the exact text I need.

I know the text you're referring to, but sadly I don't have this case, so I can't confirm.

It should read something like TRA DELUXE GENERATION ASST W4 11 and have the item code that gdmetro posted (98452942A) listed above it.

It will be a white repaint of Optimus Prime. No plans for Fansproject type armor.

Rumor is (still a rumor) that Skywarp will be released and a ehobby exclusive sunstorm.
Wait till I see it.

All the rumors/suggestions from them will be laid to rest at botcon.
For the next 2-3 months its ALL about the movie.....

Well it's taken 2 days to find out that they don't think they have it. At the moment they are checking if there's a simillar but different case with the same items in it. I'm fairly confident that there isn't but I'm going to let them look.
