Loved it. I'd put on par with the first 'Iron Man'. Hemsworth was perfectly cast, Portman never faltered, Hiddleston truly was Loki, lots of well executed humour, Easter Eggs galore (timely, huh? :p) and the transformation scene is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.

I agree
+ Casting was the highlight for me.
+ Hiddleston was amazing.
+ The after credit scene was a big hint on what may happen in the avengers.
+ Hawkeye scene went longer than expected.
+ Plenty of humour.
+ Natalie Portman is cute
+ Stan Lee cameo
+ Thor vs 100 Frost Giants = EPIC
8/10

Definitely Avengers, but also the Cap movie. Hopkins has stated that Odin pretty much runs the Marvel (film) universe, and he's responsible for things that appear in Captain America and the Avengers.
I agree with the Hawkeye scene. I knew he appeared in it after seeing a preview clip last week, but because he was a silhouette I figured it wasn't Renner and it was a very brief cameo, one put in before Renner was cast. Now I'm thinking they did some post shoots just to add him in.

Saw it at V-max in 3D last night. Thought it was great its definitely on par with Iron man 1.
I actually liked Loki and his performance than I thought I would so I was pleasantly surprised.
only negative... Volstagg is too thin but that's just nitpicky!

saw it last night. An excellent film and impressive that while there was a really camp moment in the movie it didn't take you out of the story...

I avoided this thread because I was seeing it last night.
And I have to say, it does not disappoint. Damn great movie, best of the marvel movies to date IMO. Great cast, great story, great cameos and easter eggs, funny scenes, but mostly action.

I thought it was pretty good, but I have a feeling Captain America will be better. Iron Man 1 was sensational and really set the tone.
I have a big worry for The Avengers - it may be one of the greatest movies of all time or the biggest non-event of all time.
The star pulling power in that movie alone is incredible.
I believe Marvel has made a case to put both Spider-Man (Sony) and Wolverine (Fox) to have a cameo at the end with Andrew Garfield and Hugh Jackman asking them to join the Avengers - apparently it was leaked as a potential "end credits" scene for The Avengers.
Apparently both studios are considering it. (unsure about the actors)....
If rumor is true, Avengers 2 would be bigger than Avenger 1

Awesome film! I enjoyed it more than Iron Man despite not knowing much about the comics.
I saw it 2d so for those who saw it in 3d, was it worth it?

I saw it 3D, doesn't add too much. Though the snow on Jotunheim was cool to see in 3D, among other cool little things. Don't think it needed, but cool. If you see it in 2D, unless you want to see it at the cinemas again, I wouldn't bother. Though I wanna see it again, I'll see it in 2D.

It wasn't filmed in 3D but converted afterwards, and the conversion isn't really worth it. I saw it in 3D only because it was a better session time.
Chris Hemsworth was great. I thought the film pulled off a good balance between Asgard and Earth. (But it threw me that the Asgardians called our world Earth more than they called it Midgard). I wish a reboot fourth Transformers movie could do similar with Cybertron and Earth.
Oh and UltraMagnus does a thread about Thor movie need possible spoilers for The Avengers movie? Really?

If you stayed for the scene after the credits then yes you need spoilers for the avengers movie.

I was complaining about being told what the "post-credits" scene of Avengers could be, a film that's not even made yet! Anything that was in this film is fair game for this thread, but no need to tell everyone what would have been a huge surprise in Avengers... though it's likely to have been spoilt somewhere else anyway if it does happen.
Thor's "post-credit" scene was another interesting prequel scene for Avengers but it is also a possible spoiler for the appearance of the cosmic cube in Captain America?
I was very surprised by Hawkeye being in this film and am glad that wasn't spoilt for me beforehand.

So what we know thus far, Sorry Avengers Spoiler and Cap Spoiler
1. Fury has the Cosmic cube at the end of Thor
2. We have seen pics of the Red Skull holding said cube back in the 40's
3. Cap beats red skull and S.H.I.E.L.D gets the cube in The First Avenger
4. Loki acquires the cosmic cube and uses it in the Avengers
Anything else?

A simple fantasy only a fool would believe in. Sorry to be harsh
That is beyond absurd for reasons that are quite clear.

Enjoyable, very much so and one of the better movies to see in 3-d I think, well better than rio for example:o
What does the Cosmic Cube do and where did it comes from (or is that for another movie, of so dont tell me:p )? And what were the Hawkeye references? It wasn't the green Arrow looking dude was it?
I loved the way that they managed to keep him still with the 'I am Mighty Thor' stuff going on Earth.
"Eer, We have Xena, Jacki Chan and Robin hood..." Ha ha ha! LOL! Loved that line.
Now I await Capt USA!!:D

Cosmic Cube, wait on that :p, it will appear in other films down the line. As for Hawkeye, yes he was the guy with the bow trained on Thor when he was trying to retrive the hammer.

That was indeed a funny scene, everyone cracked up. Loved it when they found where Thor was and Volstagg goes "Found you!!!" haha.

The Eye of Agamotto.
Kevin Fiege was saying that Thanos' Glove/Gauntlet was also in the war room.

You do hear his name mentioned briefly by Agent Coulson. But it's a quick reference. If you don't hear it, you miss it :p
