Ok, so the BW 10th Anniversary figures came with pieces of Transmutate.

Cheetor - Torso
Tarantulas - Left Leg
Rhinox - Waist and Right Leg
Dinobot - Left Arm
Waspinator - Head
TM Rattrap - Right Arm

6 figures for 6 parts of the body. But why does Rhinox come with two?

The waist and leg are joined, glued I think, and some fans have mistakenly tried to take them apart with bad consequences, but if the figure originally had 7 pieces, why not reissue 7 characters instead? And who, if Hasbro had decided to do it, would the 7th character have been?

Blackarachnia perhaps? The original Hasbro version was certainly used with poetic licence when it came to be animated for the show? A new version would have been nice, but Takara came to the party with her.

Tigatron? Takara again did it a mighty justice.

Who does it leave? No deluxe figures, as Rattrap, Terrorsaur, Airazor, Inferno and Scorponok are basic or mega.

And the inclusion of TM Rattrap always bugged me slightly, it broke the asthetic of the homage of the line.

Maybe Hasbro originally wanted to release a 2-pack? (I'm purely speculating here, but with no news ever being BW related, let a fan live a little)

2-Pack. Rattrap and Terrorsaur. That way you have figures from the original crew in deluxe or basic sized toys in more accurate colours (supposedly anyway, don't get me started on Hasbro's Dinobot :( )

So the line would then have consisted of:

Cheetor
Rhinox
Tarantulas
Waspinator
Rattrap/Terrorsaur
Dinobot

Thats still only 6 boxes for the 7 parts. But I'm only throwing around ideas so sue me :p

At the end of the day, I only bought the line for Transmutate and am glad to have her, and bought the Takara versions for they are far superior and only kept Tarantulas becuase Takara didn't do one.

Maybe with all this talk of DOTM, CHUG, Prime and such, I'm just feeling a little neglected.

(And don't anyone dare mention Animated Cheetor, it's not even close :p)

I noticed that way back when but didn't pay much attention to it because the 10th Anniversary figures never really interested me, just Transmutate. :p
I assume that Rhinox got 2 pieces, purely because he's twice as awesome as everyone else? - Maybe in Hasbro's mind? :D

I too feel left out dude, in the sense that Beast Wars is basically being ignored - Hence why I just bought Animated Waspinator and Blackarachnia. :o

my guess is the 7th box would have been silverbolt he may not have been season 1, but he was around for most of beast wars AND most of beast machines
but yeah, that's just my guess

and i too wish has/tak would pay more attention to beast wars

Silverbolt, ,thats not a bad idea. Deluxe sized and yeah, was there for 2 seasons and a fan favourite.

I'm pretty sure they were going to do a Rattrap and Terrorsaur pack but the molds were lost/buggered so they used the Transmetal instead. I can't find any reference to back me up though.

I've never bought into this 'lost the molds' excuse from Hasbro. If they don't have it, surely Takara does.

And if they think about it, shouldn't they ask the BotCon people? I've heard it said that the Rattrap and Terrorsaur molds are lost, and they just happen to be the exclusives from ... 1997 or 98? Packrat and Fractyl.

Look a bit harder Hasbro!

Just found out that Transmutates other leg is on a ball and socket joint. I know cause I pulled it off trying to pose him. Well, not a ball and socket. more of a beg the leg slots onto.

I hope she still poses ok mate. As I said, I think thats the way she was originally designed, but we can't be too sure.

My Transmutate never posed well so I haven't seen any difference. Always had to get the legs just right in order for it to stand

Yeah... stupid Inaction Figure. :p

If the joint is just a round peg and socket, I guess it would have been easier to stand/pose in its original, unglued version. Damn Hasbro.
