Ok, so the BW 10th Anniversary figures came with pieces of Transmutate.
Cheetor - Torso
Tarantulas - Left Leg
Rhinox - Waist and Right Leg
Dinobot - Left Arm
Waspinator - Head
TM Rattrap - Right Arm
6 figures for 6 parts of the body. But why does Rhinox come with two?
The waist and leg are joined, glued I think, and some fans have mistakenly tried to take them apart with bad consequences, but if the figure originally had 7 pieces, why not reissue 7 characters instead? And who, if Hasbro had decided to do it, would the 7th character have been?
Blackarachnia perhaps? The original Hasbro version was certainly used with poetic licence when it came to be animated for the show? A new version would have been nice, but Takara came to the party with her.
Tigatron? Takara again did it a mighty justice.
Who does it leave? No deluxe figures, as Rattrap, Terrorsaur, Airazor, Inferno and Scorponok are basic or mega.
And the inclusion of TM Rattrap always bugged me slightly, it broke the asthetic of the homage of the line.
Maybe Hasbro originally wanted to release a 2-pack? (I'm purely speculating here, but with no news ever being BW related, let a fan live a little)
2-Pack. Rattrap and Terrorsaur. That way you have figures from the original crew in deluxe or basic sized toys in more accurate colours (supposedly anyway, don't get me started on Hasbro's Dinobot :( )
So the line would then have consisted of:
Cheetor
Rhinox
Tarantulas
Waspinator
Rattrap/Terrorsaur
Dinobot
Thats still only 6 boxes for the 7 parts. But I'm only throwing around ideas so sue me :p
At the end of the day, I only bought the line for Transmutate and am glad to have her, and bought the Takara versions for they are far superior and only kept Tarantulas becuase Takara didn't do one.
Maybe with all this talk of DOTM, CHUG, Prime and such, I'm just feeling a little neglected.
(And don't anyone dare mention Animated Cheetor, it's not even close :p)
