Fishpond.com order arrived today:

I still haven't bought a DOTM toy at retail yet (and very likely will not do so until the ridiculous prices they're asking for them drop).

Cheap Blackout from Toyworld and Bumblebee from Fishpond (have emailed them regarding the poor packaging - if a box looks to small and you have to bend the card to fit the toy in then get a bigger box!)

Just got these today on my hunt.
The puzzles I have never seen before and just fortunately noticed them on a stock cage in myer. Much better than those terrible movie ones they released and couldnt resist the dreamwave illustrations.

oooo more puzzles? How much where they? I have to get them.

Argh! - Why'd they combine 2 previously released puzzles in that 4 pack and not release the Devastator and Optimus ones separately!?!:(

Nice find though LambOfPrimus. ;)

The Optimus one has been released before (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/official-images-of-australian-release-100-piece-transformers-puzzle-with-robot-heroes-optimus-prime-165618/) in 2008 - in a cylindrical container which included RH Optimus Prime. Went to Northland this afternoon and purchased

Tomahawk (so I can turn it into a Classics Whirl)
Thundercracker
Wheeljack
Warpath

Got the last ones.
To confirm what alot of people are saying. Go to Kmart, find a generations figure there on shelf, then speak to the toy person and say that your friend told you that there were more at the back.
The guy at Northland Kmart brought the box with the last figures.

Warpath is going to the hands of Heroic Decepticon when I return to HK.

Oh no, aside from lack of proportions, "Stay Puft" body parts (how the hell do Transformers with such fat fingers form fists or operate a gun??), a lack of sequential story-telling in his visual narrative, poor linear perspective, dull surprise (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Dull_surprise) and the occasional completely misplaced body part (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/2/2d/DWPrimewhatthe.jpg)... yeah, aside from all that he's not bad at all! :p:p:p (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggXmKPMaHMo)

They all look like Pat Lee's art^handiwork to me.

In this case they all are, except the Devastator and Superion one, which actually has a background, so he got James Raiz to draw that bit. (True story.) I agree that Pat Lee is an abysmal draughtsman - his robots are awful and he can't draw anything else either, so he would just fill pages with robots regardless of perspective issues, or if he actually needed a background he just got someone else to draw it. And then didn't pay them for it. Or, in Alex Milne's case, Pat drew absolutely nothing, got Alex to draw entire comic books for him, wrote 'Pat Lee' on them, and then also didn't give Alex the money for it.

Pat Lee's only talent is being a )!@*head.

Cheers for grabbing the Universe Blades off kristofferer for me - just hang onto it since it's only a loose duplicate so I'm in no hurry for it at all.

As for my haul, yeah some of it I'm still questioning - like the Galaxy Force ones which in hindsight don't make any sense to me as to why I purchased them (as I have both loose and MISB Hasbro Cybertron equivalents already).

I guess those guys at that stall know that I'm a sucker for MISB Jap releases so they kept throwing package deal prices at me that I couldn't refuse. :o

OS will remain MISB as I don't have another one, but I'm tempted to go find a cheap loose Hasbro one to buy so I can have a fiddle with it since the transformation/separation intrigues me.

And yes, he's quite large and imposing! Bigger than Primus and roughly the same size as Unicron - he certainly looks very impressive on display.

Finally got less lazy when I got home, so I took a photo (this one I took a while ago, just finally uploaded it lol)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/1AZRAEL1/SANY1847.jpg

Most came from the Hornsby Fair from various people.

Then I got this lot from Parra Fair. Wreck Gar is just there for aesthetic value to ride Scrapheap. Mostructor is now complete to stand, got foot and waist. Springer holding his newly acquired sword (though he needs a little blue pill to keep it upright :p) Cliff is from Blink90210

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/1AZRAEL1/SANY2020.jpg

The new head for Kup makes him look even better, big difference in heads. Hip joints on Cyclonus are week as, but stands fine.

I never realised it, but with my Universe Galvatron, I had his knees transformed wrong. Wasn't until I got this one that I realised it :o

Glad you like it as it was a b**** to set up.

Lego itself doesn't float, but assembling a lego set like that in an existing aquarium is not really feasible, so I had to place the assembled model into the tank, complete with air inside a lot of the bricks.

The base is half buried under the gravel, but the top part (the actual workstation bit) is meant to rest on the base using gravity. So it floats - I've had to wedge it underneath the (top mounted) filter box. Which took a long time to do, as Lego tends to unclip very easily in water. It works well enough, but if it moves I'll have to carefully place it again.

Thankfully they're a fairly friendly & calm group of fish, who didn't so much mind my hands placing everything!

heretic, good luck with Warpath ;)

Classics devastator - I probably over paid for classics devastator but if fansproject does release a cross fire set for devastator in green I expect this sets value to skyrocket so I figured I better grab one while its still relatively easy to get a hold of

Good point. Your question got me worried for a moment, but I did remember the HK does not tax people on such things.

Toys are not dutiable commodities.

From the HK government website:

“HKSAR is a free port and does not levy any Customs tariff on imports and exports. Excise duties are levied only on four types of dutiable commodities, namely:

Liquor
Tobacco
Hydrocarbon Oil
Methyl Alcohol”

http://www.customs.gov.hk/en/passenger_clearance/duty_free/index.html

Bringing in Megatron in gun mode also does not appear to be an issue - http://www.customs.gov.hk/en/trade_facilitation/prohibited_articles/imports/index.html

One of the many reasons I love this place. They don't try to fleece you blind and yet the country turns a surplus of $75 billion last year. :p

Wow, kurdt, impressive list! Very impressive indeed. What's the blue Valkyrie? It looks a Macross Plus VF-21 (but I am way out of date for Macross). Looks good.

Kurdt, thanks again for the information you provided to me. I know I have yet to officially says thanks and to acknowledge the immense help your information was to me. I will do so in a proper post later and on my blog-site. :D

There are actually only a few places that really has G1 in Osaka and you mentioned most of them:
1. Hero Gangu
2. G-One Super Position Capsule
3. Entertainment Jungle
4. Mandarake Shisaibanshi (ie: Grand Chaos)
5. Mandarake Umeda (near Sega World and Nep Navio).

I think the one your didn't mention was Entertainment Jungle which is next to the 7-11 next to Hotel Hillarys (ie: across the road from G-One Super Position). They have lots of G1, but some not cheap.

BTW, Hotel Hillarys is in the most awesome location, it's right in the center of shops (1) to (3) and just 1 mins walk from each. Highly recommend.

Heh. It's good eh. I understand (but don't quote me) that Singapore is tax exempt up to SGD$10K too. So unless one buys $10,000 or more worth of TFs, there still isn't much to worry about. :p

That may be worth it seeming as though I think that the next annual member's personal collection count is not too far away - Goki could probably clarify that I think. :)
Certainly a massive effort you've made dude, those figures will just be happy that someone likes them enough to own them. :p

Yeah but I think they use the universal counting method - my numbers are over inflated since I own multiples of most of the stuff in my collection.

For example, I have the following:
1 x MOSC Generations WFC Prime
1 x Loose Generations WFC Prime
3 x MOSC United WFC Prime
1 x Loose United WFC Prime

By my count, that's 6 figures, but by the UCM, I think it's 1, maybe 2 figures at most (1 since it's the same mold, 2 since they're separate releases - Hasbro and TakTomy - can't remember how they count it) :(

That's true as that is what the UCM requires, but there is nothing stopping one from adding up all the 'plastic objects' one owns. ;)

As much as I think counting Transformers is daft enough without there being an 'official' way, according to this Counting Method:

* ARTICLE 10: Multiples count. e.g.:
- 2 Seasprays = 2 Transformers.

So Vector Prime, you do have six Transformers there. Congratulations!

I suppose there is always going to be differing views on this, without derailing this thread :p, I like to keep 2 collection counts; The 'official' one and the 'I've got this much plastic toy' one. ;):D

The counting of multiples is the one article in the Universal Counting Method that I find most objectionable and just don't like it. As Vector Prime says, it kinda "artificially inflates" one's collection count. But anyway, the majority of people voted for multiples to count... so they count. That's democracy for you. I used to keep two collection counts - one was the Substitution Rationale method, similar to the UCM but multiples and variants don't count. I can't be bothered keeping track of my collection count under two different counting methods anymore, so I just use the UCM.

My first DOTM figure thanks to the TRU sale. Took quite a few button presses and quality paint checks before I was able to find a good one. Also this was one of the rare ones that the mouth actually moves quite a bit.

this is simply something i never understood the argument of to begin with and why i voted multiples count... as we are counting a collection not the number of characters or moulds and it doesnt really artificially inflate you numbers... i like to have multiples of my g1 i have three blitzwings... there are three toys, 3, not 1.....

this is the reason i do not even count my collection it seems way to complicated and if you ask me how many i have i wil say lots. hehe or maybe lots and lots.....

anyways i gots me a DOTM HA Thunderhead.....:p

Well, at the end of the day, the majority of voters agreed with you ... so multiples count. And so I count them too, irrespective of my personal opinions. :)

Anyway, I picked up Commander Class Sentinel Prime from Target today, and remembered to ask for a Collector's Card. The store clerk had no idea what I was talking about and had to refer to the catalogue - then call the manager, who also had no idea -- despite the fact that near the entrance of the store is a MASSIVE display of DotM toys advertising the Collectors Card campaign! So I had to wait ages for a staff member from toys to come down and give me my card. (-_-) I got a free plastic shopping bag for my troubles though. :o

Cheers Jetfire, :)

That's unfortunate dude, but I have to agree with you in that after having mucked around with the pair this afternoon and getting Megatron into each of his modes, this mold really is quite cool. :D:cool:
I'm unfortunately not that big of a fan of the RiD and Unicron Trilogy eras, but I do like to make exceptions for figures/molds that earn my respect and hence; RiD Megs & Galvy join the ranks of Cybertron Primus, Energon Omega Supreme, Armada Tidalwave and Unicron, but also Animated Waspinator and Blackarachnia. :p:)
(Oh yeah, can't forget the Minicons either! :D)

@ Hursticon, Ive only got RiD Galvatro so I dont know what differences does he have (aside form the color) from RiD Megatron, I was told Galvy has extra transformations that Megs cant do.... which are these? and can you post why he (Megs) can't? does he have a peg or screw missing that Galvy has in his mold? Quite curious. Cheers.

Hey dude, I think a number of your questions could be answered here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=11114&page=6), but asides from paint the Hasbro versions of both RiD Megatron and Galvatron are exactly identical as both share the Galvatron/Devil Gigatron additional peg - hence, Hasbro RiD Megatron is capable of all the additional modes of transformation. ;):)
