Now, PE "Reflector", my, what a fan release. After 10 mediocre releases (ie: PE-01 to PE-10), Perfect Effect has finally nailed it.

To my mind, this is by far the best release and a near perfect homage to G1 Reflector - in fact, its even better than G1 Reflector because the 'bots look like Reflector did in the cartoon. Spectro and Spyglass are also subtly coloured differently so that one can identify which is which. The set is just packed with accessories, all of which has a lot of play value. If the plastic quality is better, I could almost have mistaken this for a FansProject release, just based on the design and execution itself, and that is saying a lot about how far Perfect Effect has come.

ah ok, I get what you mean, Ive handled Deceptic Optic's NOt Rumble/Frenzy so hmmm, ah well that's one thing consistent I guess - the materials used... they really should look at improving that like how FP does with each creation...still the figures looks awesome though.

Some cool acquisitions on the Henkei front dude as with Drift and those awesome little PE 'Reflector' dudes! :D
Though I 've only seen them trough video and still photography myself, I would have to agree that their design, execution and engineering is quite impressive though it is interesting that both yourself and Liege mention the plastic quality because I admittedly never thought about that - But I'm quite pleased with PE Shadow Warrior/Rumble/Frenzy's plastic so I'll have to try and organise acquiring a set of these. :cool:

These are some really big lads and it is nice to finally purchase some non-deluxe figures for a change. ;):D
Primus was required as my collection needed an answer to Unicron, Tidalwave was acquired due to his appearance in the PS2 Armada Transformers game and Omega Supreme whilst having quite unfavourable colours, was described to me by Bartrim and The Damned as being quite an excellent figure considering the, IMO, horrible era that he and the others belong to. :o

I love these big guys and I'd like to extend a huge thanks to Odelay for a great deal on the trio but also for the efforts that he made in getting them to me - Cheers Mate! ;):cool:

Now, PE "Reflector", my, what a fan release. After 10 mediocre releases (ie: PE-01 to PE-10), Perfect Effect has finally nailed it.

To my mind, this is by far the best release and a near perfect homage to G1 Reflector - in fact, its even better than G1 Reflector because the 'bots look like Reflector did in the cartoon. Spectro and Spyglass are also subtly coloured differently so that one can identify which is which. The set is just packed with accessories, all of which has a lot of play value. If the plastic quality is better, I could almost have mistaken this for a FansProject release, just based on the design and execution itself, and that is saying a lot about how far Perfect Effect has come.

I have just opened and been playing with PE-Reflector. This toy is excellent - Design wise it's easily FansProject quality and although it doesn't match up in material quality, it is still above that of Hasbro's. My main concern when I bought Not-Reflector was that, material and QC quality as PE F&R were somewhat lacking. Good to see that they have stepped up considerably in that regard.

This set should win toy of the year and despite the price and size, it is definitely worth it. Sometime in the next few days, I will write up a bit more about it with more details but this set has blown me away.

I was pressed for time yesterday cos I had plans with the missus and bubbie -- so I only had a small window of opportunity to do TF hunting in the morning, so when I saw Sentinel Prime at Target, or more accurately, when I didn't see Sentinel Prime at Target despite only having received the stock a day before, I fear the worst... so when the staff member kindly looked in the back room for me and found one there, I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth and bought it.

Ah well, I have it now. And $99 is the standard RRP for a Leader Class, so while it's not the best price, I don't think it's an unreasonable price either.

That's all I saw as well, the BB and Screamer cyberverse sets along with the individual figures, no signs of the Ark I think it may be Wave 2? And you mean the cyberverse vehicles in DOTM? I'm pretty sure the tank thingy that comes with Starscream appears in a pretty pivotal sequence....

Picked up a few Commander Class Cyberverse DotM figures:
- Optimus Prime
- Blackout
- Powerglide

I know they may look like simple, slightly larger legend toys, but these are as complex as Scouts and Deluxes. Powerglide fans will NOT be disappointed. Awesome figure. Blackout - amazing except for the visible hands in alt mode. There's some real ingenious engineering in these figures and have really surprised me. They may be a tad pricey at $19rrp but these are ultra playable and no fake kibble!!!

Kudos to Hasbro for having really good and much clearer instructions this time round.

FYI. Powerglide is 10.5cm long and wingspan is 9.5cm. The angle makes them look a bit small. But the RtS OP is half the length of all the commander cyberverses.

This set seems better value than this years one, it has two Voyager size figures - Clench and Sparks (Pyro) - both really good molds as well.

Loving the Cyberverse Commanders a lot even if they have limited poseability.

Those Voyagers are quite fiddly. Definately puzzleformers. The robot modes hide the vehicle kibble really well and a lot of great sculpting on all three figures. They look like non-transforming action figures in robot mode. The conversion for all three are quite complex to the point of Leader class conversion and Ironhide especially recalls RotF Mixmaster craziness. Optimus Prime have some funky clear roofing but alt mode suffers with a lot of robot kibble and a non solid panels. Ironhides alt mode is fantastic bar the back which has obvious feet sculpting visible. Megatron is an absolute winner though. My favorite figure so far in the line and one of all time.

That said, (like you, VP) I personally don't think that toy spoilers are particularly spoilerish. Firstly, just because a Transformer has a DOTM toy, it doesn't mean they're in the film, and even if they are in the film it's not much of a spoiler. (Gasp - some dude who turns into a car is in the film! Somebody call David Stratton!) The toys are out there in plain view, and unless people plan on not going shopping or walking through the toy section with their eyes shut for the next month and a half they're going to see them. (And surely most of the people who don't want to be spoiled are the same people who like the films enough to want to buy the toys anyway.)

Picked up DOTM Bumblebee, though I wasn't all that impressed by the paint applications at first the head sculpt, gauntlets and awesome mech tech weapon make up for it. I love the head, he looks very surprised, he's adorable :)

For anyone that wants a better depiction of the more loveable humane side of BB I'd recommend this little dood :)

I've loved transformers ever since I was a kid (26 now) and I'm still mad and my 14yo self for selling almost all my original g1 toys. What a mistake. So now I've started collecting again and maybe I'll get bac all the old stuff I had one day... at a much more expensive rate I think, lol. I started by getting the sdcc blaster and soundwave exclusives as those are my favorites from childhood. Then I bought the whole generations line up. And few bits and piece I saw online like sdcc nemesis prime, a (gasp) high quality KO devy, masterpiece skywarp and starscream. So my question is what do I collect now? I'm not sure on the dotm toys. The leader class stuff looks okay but I'm undecided. I was super disappointed with my ROTF starscream so now I don't know. I thought about starting on Takara united but then I'm doubling up in 11 tf's. Thoughts? Sorry this might be in the wrong thread but you can forgive me because I'm new :-D

Oh and thought I'd mention I pre-ordered those seekers from igear last week. They aren't official but they look so good I couldn't help myself. They won't be in until July though :-(

I bought the following Voyagers for $40

When I got there this morning, I found all the good stuff missing, figured one of us utilized Griff's tip-off. :p I started snooping around to find that they had a case of wave 3 deluxes and wave 2 voyagers still boxed on the top shelf opposite the main display. The awesome dude working happily pulled down the box so I could buy a Shockwave.

So today I scored a Voyager Shockwave and Megatron :D

Yeah it was me this morning ringing up.

Toyworld is generally really good with service. They hold stuff etc.

The only bummer was the dude working there was not willing to pricematch the Toyworld price of $70, probably cos $20 was way too much.

However, other Toyworld's are willing to do it so it was no loss no harm. Only thing he forgot to pricematch was the deluxes, so I got overcharged $6, but $40 for the Voyagers, you cant complain.

In my diecast model collecting experiences, I live by a mantra - 'You win some and you lose some. But if you still come in on top, you're laughing and that's my view.

Got HA Backfire w/ Spike Witwicky from Kmart. Wow... the first time I've ever purchased a HA toy with the intention of keeping the Transformer!! :D (every other one was just to keep the humans and I sold off the TFs :p) -- IMO Hasbro are getting smarter with these HAs by making them more affordable and also making them unique characters.

Found Warpath and Thundercracker at my local Kmart today. Got so excited that I tried to find the others (from that wave) at 3 other Kmarts in the immediate area but came up short.

Picked up DOTM Powerglide from Target

Picked up powerglide for $18- expensive, but I cant be bothered to waste more petrol/time/effort to get him later. And he is probably 1 of the 2 figures I want from the movie line.

Love the alt mode which is pure g1 love. Bot mode is ok... but the feet are crappy.

The worst thing is the size... these cyberverse commanders are just not worth the pricepoint compared to the previous larger sized "Scouts".

Overall, he's nice- he doesn't look that great amongst the other classics... If only the size were larger he'd be great.

Yes, powerglide's sizing is kinda middle of legends and that of Scout, I hate this new sizing, just ruins it when your trying to fit one figure to go with the previous lines.:mad::mad:

Universe Powerglide is my Classicsverse Powerglide. My DotM Powerglide lives in my movieverse section... I have no problem with his size. Just wish he were $3 cheaper.

Yep, he was a UK exclusive for people that pre-ordered WFC and indeed you are correct, a few Game Traders stores in Oz somehow had them in their clearance bins (even though he officially was not available here).

Re: Powerglide: totally agree- $10 would be a great price. I just cant be bothered to find powerglide later... since he's apparently 1 per case and there are many that want him. I would not pay that premium for any of the other movie toys.

Having said that, I do like the packaging for the cyberverse commanders- very collector friendly. They look decent, and the cardboard flap can be carefully opened and resealed easily for mib display. Kudos to Hasbro on that one.

Don't want to dash your hopes, but my local Kmart pointed me in the direction of another which supposedly had over 60 of them in stock (according to their computers). Suffice to say, when I got there they played their usual card "if it ain't on the shelf, we don't have any"...

Also, not sure if all Kmart’s are the same, but the Generation line is marked as 'clearance' on the shelf.

DJs Castle Hill. It was the last one -- I dashed there like a madman straight after work! :p Shockwave was spotted at DJs in the CBD as of yesterday. But yeah, when I saw him there, even at full RRP of $50, I just grabbed it straight away. DJs Caso had one more Skyhammer there which I left (Shockwave was the greater priority).

Well here's two of my favourite recent acquisitions.

First up is Rodimus. I've never had a previous version of this mold and despite its age being very visible it is still a great figure. The over the top cartoon paint scheme just makes the figure even better than his dull forbears.

Then we have the lovely Cyclonus. I don't think much more need be said, although I do need to get some faction reprolables to replace those eyesore rubsigns.

My main gripe about the colour scheme on this repaint is the non-transparent windows, because the driver's compartment on this mould has a lot of lovely details sculpted in which you just can't see because you can't see through the windows. :( (unless you physically remove the canopy -- but there's otherwise no way to view by default).

Anyway, picked up RtS Windcharger for myself and a Generations Scourge for jazzcomp.

Picked up Cyberverse Powerglide and Bumblebee Cyberverse playset. Much happier with the Bumblebee set then the Starscream set, which is odd because I liked the Starscream one better.
Also put the last 5 Generations toys on layby along with the first 4 commander? HA DOTM toys.

Thanks to the sighting from Mr Optics (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=240798&postcount=1784), I have now completed the missing pieces for the final wave of Generations :D I also picked up what could possibly be my only DOTM toy.

I read his post when I got home at about 9 PM after spending the whole day at the zoo. Luckily, Blacktown Kmart is 24 hrs.



Anyway, picked up RtS Windcharger for myself and a Generations Scourge for jazzcomp.

Lemme guess, you got Scourge from the same Kmart. They actually pulled all their Generations stock off the shelf after they realised they didn't scan. I literally had to jump through hoops just so they would release some of their stock to me which they hid out the back in a trolley. The whole process took about 40 mins speaking to floor staff, front desk staff, then finally the duty manager who realised I wasn't going to leave his store without them. In other words, if anyone else is thinking of getting these from Blacktown Kmart, good luck.

Mmm, yeah, it's a fair call on the loss of the cabin detail but compared to the brick red of the original I strangely find myself not complaining.

Plus, it's cheap now compared to the other releases!
