Last 5 Generations toys - update

The final five Generations toys (Wheeljack, Thundercracker, Kup, Scourge, Warpath) arrived at Hasbro over a month ago, but since that time, stores have been discontinuing existing lines for the release of the Movie toys mid-May.

After seeing the 3 Majors discontinuing Generations before these last five made it to their stores, I spoke to TRU, and unfortunately they did too.

This just leaves Toyworld, Myer and DavidJones... the latter two are less likely with such small inventory and infrequent restocking, they will probably also be focussing on Movie toys for the rest of the year.

For those yet to bite the bullet and import them, or can't, it would seem that Toyworld is most likely going to be the only storechain we'll see them in now.

Well, that pretty much rules out these guys ever seeing the light of day at retail in NSW then (unless there's a Toyworld I don't know about :confused:).

On the other hand, they may get a mass retail release in a few months time after the initial launch of the DOTM toys (but I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen). :rolleyes:

I guess it's time to whip those credit cards out guys and order online! (in case you haven't already gotten these guys yet) :p

Hmmm I'll have to check our Toyworld in Ulladulla. I know Batemans Bay toyworld hasn't had any new transformers stock for a while but she hardly sells anything because it is overpriced. She still has a Camshaft from the first movie (That horrible cycloptic robot thing used for Swindle too) for $32.

If they are already here, maybe they will show up in discount stores? Not particularly likely but Hasbro appear to have done it before with their other lines.

I am still actively trying to get hold of these as a store and man are they giving me a hard time over it. :mad: As Hasbro will not deal with any store that will not buy a minimum of $30,000 per annum of product, I have to deal with thier authorised secondary wholesalers and so far I'm not getting anywhere.

Well I'm still hoping that once the hype of the movie is down, these figures, we supposedly are missing out gets it's due release:).... USA wont begetting Windcharger ( small compared to what we wont get I know) but at least we know were not the only ones. Im sure these will flood the market in due time after this movie hype passes. After all, once the movie line does dry out, they would need to have Tfs in the shelves sooooo Generations 3.0 or whatever gimimicky name they'd come with would sure to flood in :D:D .... there's a pattern to their madness.

GENERATIONS WAVE 4!! From K-mart! Kup, Scourge, Thundercracker, Wheeljack and Warpath. So glad I had cash on me. I'm still out and will post pics when I get home.

I sauntered into the Burwood one after work and there's not even a section for Tfs - no space set aside for DOTM or anything, just three lonely Scout figures crammed in between some Star Wars toys. :(

I've just picked up a Gen Thundercracker from my local Kmart (see WA sightings thread).
No sign of any others from that wave. I think it may have been put out by mistake (it didn't scan at the checkout).

Popped into Kmart Vic Gardens on the way home vainly hoping to find Generations TF's but all they had was DSOM crap.

Does anyone know if we will be getting these at all? I NEED Scourge & Wheeljack. Need them like a junkie needs his fix.

I am going for a flying visit to Sydney this weekend & if I have time will pop into a couple of stores to search. Unfortunately I have different priorities this weekend so I may not get to any.

i did a kmart crawl on the weekend

Campbelltown, Casula, Bankstown, Hurstville, Southgate

It seems as though quite a few Kmart's do have them but have taken them off the shelves as soon as they realise they don't scan. One person at Kmart said that they have had them for about 3 weeks.

The difficult part is that because they don't scan, they would be unable to tell you if they have any in stock because they're not listed on their computers.

When I got my Warpath at K-Mart it didn't scan. The checkout had to ask for someone else to check for correct pricing. I told them there was a whole row of them out already. A senior staff member came back and said: "Just let him have it for $15 - under Miscellaneous items."

I ended up getting Warpath + Thundercracker for $15 each because of this :)

I guess K-Mart is lumping in this last wave of figures with the DOTM figures without properly determining the correct scan code.

Each figure has its own barcode, and the way coles group works is head office inputs the barcodes into the system.

Often they only enter 1 out of the box of (say for example) 4 and gotta wait for a complaint to come back from store.

It's not fixable at store level, so don't try complaining about it there.

To group them all together, and reorder, they often make a general code to group all the different barcodes under. Seeming these are the last delivery, someone must have skipped a step somewhere and they fell through the cracks.

Based on the full price (after being on clearance before), and not being in the system, it looks like Hasbro must have convinced Kmart to buy back into the Generations line after they had removed it as a product line from their inventory systems.

I've seen them use temporary barcodes before, when something new from an existing assortment wasn't in their system... so at least they can sell them without a hassle now.

I think one of the unfortunate side effects is that when I show an employee the price tag to scan and check for stock, these figures likely aren't correlated to that. Thus, only a manual check will suffice.
