As detailed at The Allspark (http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=78922&st=0), there appear to be three different versions of Crankcase with three different hands.

1. Snipped middle finger: the long middle finger of Crankcase appears to have been (roughly) cut off at the factory, either due to safety concerns or concerns over the fact the toy is constantly giving kids the middle finger.
2. Middle finger unchanged: There have been reports that versions with unchanged hands have been found. These are the same as pre-production toys.
3. Retooled hands: According to pictures on Japanese image board 2chan, the Japanese release has a retooled hand with a much smaller middle finger.

So, we should report which versions we've bought and what production numbers (and such) are on it (I think it's the number stamped into the packaging cardboard and the toy plastic somewhere).

But a Decepticon should be giving people the finger... Optimus won't do it. :p

(was just thinking about the "exciting" job of some poor factory worker in Vietnam who had to snip off all those middle fingers)

So, any numbers or anything?

Not quite sure how this figure converts as I don't own him yet but looking at the figure inside the bubble I can spot what looks like the long finger just behind the front wheel. I guess this is a good way to check it in-store before purchasing.

My Crankcase also has all figures intact, it seems to be a running change with the US most badly affected since it seems to be a rarity to come across a unclipped version over there judging by what some posters are saying over at TFW.

Mine has long fingers and has 10131 on the card back

Used to mean made on the 13 day of the year 1 (which would be 2011). So Jan 13 2011?

Picked one up today, and he's flippin the bird.

Not overly annoying either way, except if one decided later on to army-build two or three of these bad boys - sounds like it'll be hard to find 'rude' Crankcases after this initial release.

Mine has long middle finger. You can't tell when in package though cause I tried to check first

My bad. What I'm seeing in the package were the giant claws on his back. Unfortunately the hands are hidden from view in-package. Lucky for me I got long finger one! :)

I must say that this is one excellent deluxe. The best of the bunch from wht I can tell. The grey parts are a little disappointing, but the paint apps on his torso, head and the hair (?) makes up for it. Love the homage to Insections and loved the conversion. Might post up a review on this badboy. Can't wait to see him in the movie.

Because I'm a nerd, I've tallied up all the codes and "finger status" for Crankcase. These are from my own purchases, Seibertron posts and from another site. Nothing statistically definite, just a running total. 03651 looks pretty good. I've opened 2 now with that number and the fingers are intact.

Happy hunting, and post your codes and results (Intact, Cut) here!

03651 - 7 Intact, 0 Cut
10131 - 4 Intact, 0 Cut (2 in Canada)
10191 - 1 Intact (Scotland)
10531 - 3 Intact, 1 Cut
10561 - 4 Intact, 2 Cut
10601 - 3 Intact, 14 Cut
10801 - 0 Intact, 1 Cut

so thats +2 intact to 10131

I got on e with unclipped fingers last night but they were all bent up and the left one in particular is pretty manky looking.

just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if there's an easy way to fix it or if I should take it back and try my luck for another one...

Finally nabbed Crankcase off laybuy, and to my surprise, he was indeed a 10131 uncut version. Hope to add pics later along with the mispackaged Crankcase I mentioned last month for anyone interested. :D

Target is a good source for the 10131 'uncut' version. I picked one up yesterday, and now my Crankcase can give the Autobots the finger like Hasbro intended him to... :p
(everywhere I looked in America, they had the 'cut' 10601 version)

everywhere i've seen him in perthn, australia (big w, kmart, and target) he's been the 10131 mold.

10851 has appeared on pegs here and overseas recently (most of the ones I saw at Big W Liverpool today were such). From what I've read online, it may be the retooled hands used in the TakaraTomy release.
