According to tfw2005 (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/site-updates-18/transformers-news-roundup-050211---050811---happy-27th-birthday-transformers-172101/) -
On May 8, 1984, the first issue of Marvel Comics Transformers miniseries was published, and our favorite Robots in Disguise were unleashed upon the world.
Happy Birthday Transformers. :D
(damn I feel old...)

I wish they'd told us this BEFORE May 8 so that we could've arranged some kind of commemorative activities. Four days after Star Wars Day too.

Wow - 27!! Man, I remember seeing TFs for the very first time on Aussie TV. It was brand new (I was probably 5 or 6) and I remember thinking "What is this cool show??" Then I found out there were toys too!
Great memories...

Yeah I remember them at Big W and on of the shelving ends. They had a pile of Transformers there with a TV playing the first three episodes. Sat there and watched them :D

I don't remember anything noteworthy happening in 1994 for Transformers' 10th anniversary... although Transformers was at a low point then since it was midway into G2. 1994 did see some nice toys coming out and the advent of articulated robot modes, but there was nothing specifically done to commemorate the 10th anniversary as far as I can recall. Ozformers didn't exist yet.
2004 was a lot bigger and we had more things coming out to commemorate the 20th anniversary.
+ A lot of Transformer toys from both Hasbro and Takara sported the 20th anniversary logo on the packaging.
+ We got _lots_ of G1 reissues, Binaltech/Alternators and Masterpiece. Hasbro's version of Masterpiece Convoy was called "20th Anniversary Optimus Prime."
+ In Australia we held the first full Transformers convention in Sydney's Ashfield with exclusive merchandise (unlicensed, but given free to attendees).
+ Dreamwave releases Don Figueroa's 20th Anniversary lithograph (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/20th_Anniversary_Lithograph)
+ 2004 was also the 30th anniversary of Microman, so to mark the duel anniversary Takara released Kicker - a Microman toy as part of the Transformers Super Link toy line (the character even featured prominently in the cartoon and comics). Hasbro also released their own version, but heavily modified where a lot of the articulation was lost (so the Microman homage was arguably lost).
