Any other Sydneysiders Lose Phone/Internet?

This is mainly for the Western Sydneysiders:

So some bid idiots went out and cut Telephone lines from Toongabbie to Penrith on Saturday morning, screwing up phone lines for tens of thousands of people.

The idiots also took out the Rooty Hill Fibre Optic Cables, so about 30,000 people have no internet either. Me included.

Plenty of rumours flying around about it being a crime gang scheme, since such a large area was hit. Most of the rumours go on to mention Credit Card fraud due to credit cards not being declined or something.

Anyone else hear anything about this, or even get hit by it?
We got our phone back on Sunday afternoon, but as yet no idea when the net will be back up and running.

It's bloody annoying having no phone, and I never realised how much I miss the net to check up on Footy scores, and Transformery goodness.

Sorry to hear about that Mate :(. I live in Quakers & we had no problems at all.

I think you may be right about the reasoning behind cutting the fibre optic cables. When I used to work at 7 Hills, the same thing happened there. But we were aware of what they were trying to do & refused to process their credit cards during down time.

my phone & net are good but my foxtel box shat itself on friday morning after a botched software update the previous night

it was working after the update but when i woke up no power at all

i rang up and got told i'll have to wait till friday for a replacement :(

Well my net is still down, with no timeframe of when it will be fixed.

If I dont answer any PM's or such over the weekend, please forgive me, I'll have access again on Monday morning.

Well the net seems to be fixed, only took a 90 minute wait on hold to get through to the company to see what was going on.

I don't recommend Blitz Telecom to anyone for any internet or phone services, Personally I would not have signed up for them either, but they acquired the previous company we had signed up to.
