Which version of DotM Prime's trailer are you planning on getting?

My situation:
+ I have Leader Class TF1 Optimus Prime
+ I have ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime
+ I don't have any Voyager Optimus Primes
+ I'm reluctant to pay what will probably be a hideously expensive price for Ultimate Optimus Prime -- some of the DotM toys we're seeing right now are already pricey enough, 'Wingaling' Prime's sure to be up there.

So my thoughts are maybe I can...
+ Buy Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime w/ jetpack (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/4/4f/DOTM_CyberverseCommander_OptimusPrime_toy.jpg) now
+ Buy Voyager Optimus Prime w/ Mech Tech trailer (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/6/61/DOTM_Voyager_OptimusPrime_trailer.jpg) when it comes out later

...whaddaya guys reckon? And just for fun... what are the rest of you planning?

I like the idea of the Leader Prime w/ Jetpack, but I just can't justify the suggested prices when really I only want the accessory. :(

Dude, the RRP for a Leader Class robot on its own is $100... with the trailer, I reckon $150 is optimistic... wouldn't surprise me if it cost $180 or even $200. Look at how much the original asking price for Combiner Class Devastator was -- and there's a whole lot of nothing going on in that toy.

Exactly! :) It's only the trailer that interests me... and the wing mode just looks silly on the Ultimate version. And odds are, we'll only see him in his wingaling mode briefly, just like with Jetfire-Optimus Prime in ROTF. (-_-)

Well... I dunno... maaaybe if it's discounted low enough. I did initially say I wasn't going to get Combiner Class Devastator, and got EZ Collection Devastator instead, but then when Big W had him on sale I got him. :p ;)

So while there's a possibility that I might get Ultimate OP, it would only be if the price were low enough and I had enough money at the time too. Put it this way, it's certainly not a priority for me.

I already have two other versions of Leader Optimus Prime from the first two films, but I don't have any Voyagers. While the cab robot for the Voyager one is a reuse of the current DotM Voyager mould, I don't have that mould... so it'd be new for me at least. And it is a retool -- particularly with those oversized tanks replaced with smaller ones. Also one could argue that the Voyager mould is, in some ways, relatively better than the Ultimate cab robot... cos at least he doesn't have "truck arms (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/d/dd/DOTM_UltimateOptimusPrime_toy.jpg)."

Another factor is shelf space. I already have an entire bookcase entirely dedicated to nothing else but my movie TFs, and it's already getting really crowded! :eek:

I'll get the cyberverse set first and then see the movie. Which ever one is more screen accurate is the one I'll get.

After talking with FFN yesterday, I'm starting to reconsider and wonder if I should go for the Ultimate figure. Cos as he pointed out to me yesterday,
1: so far the Voyager w/ trailer is only available in Japan.
2: the Voyager's trailer just opens up like the G1 trailer and holds mech tech weapons, whereas the Ultimate trailer can combine
3: It's big and imposing. Someone recently used the term "shelf presence" which I find interesting. :)

But on the other hand, what's wrong with the Voyager trailer opening up like the G1 toy? That in itself is pretty fun. :) And the pics I see of Ultimate Prime combined... I dunno, just looks like he's wearing a splayed out trailer on his back. I could get Ultimate Prime and display that in vehicle mode (that would look freakin' awesome) and get Commander Prime to display in jetpack mode.

But the ultimate deciding factor would have to be the price for the Ultimate Optimus Prime toy. I guess for $150 I'd consider getting it, but anything higher than that's gonna make me hesitate. And with the hefty prices we're seeing already for some DotM toys, I have grave concerns about the initial price of this toy. Maybe I'll wait until it's on sale... a toy this big and expensive surely won't sell out any time soon. Heck, I still see Leader ROTF Optimus Primes on shelves...

Just saw the review of Ultimate Optimus Prime at TFW2005. Looks like a cheap toy and I was expecting the scale to be bigger, to be Leader Class scale precisely but Ultimate Prime is smaller than Leader Ironhide!!!

Think I'm just going to skip and get Jetwing Optimus Prime, though it's no Buster repaint at least the add-on looks cool.

I wonder if the MP-04 trailer can fit ROTF Prime?

Ultimate - for displaying in combined mode only. this OP has a big upper body but the legs suffer from in my opinion anorexia lol if there ever was such a disease for mechanical aliens.

Jetwing - looks great in both modes

Takara Voyager - probably the best one for alt/trailer mode. It has lots of mechtech ports like the ultimate but is an actual trailer that can transport 1-2 deluxe figures and only costs half the other 2. Plus it has a really nice mechtech weapon

Definitely agree here. The Takara Voyager is the best for anyone who wants an alt mode trailer mode. If you want a combined mode, definitely DA-15. It's imposing and elegant whereas the Ultimate feels imposing but only because it's a brute. And that's not Prime at all.

The ultimate should be quite expensive here I expect. Matching DA-15 so makes DA-15 a no-brainer if one has to choose.

What is the mechtech weapon for the Takara Voyager btw? I've seen good pics of the Voyager itself and have considered getting one but unsure. Nice mechtech weapon would win me over (I'm lame, I know) :o

I'm on the fence about getting this. If it remains a Takara Exclusive i'll probably get it but the shipping costs from asia make it less appealing than buying other toys from the DotM line locally.

Unless the trailer is massively awesome or important in the movie, I suspect I'll pass, I already have the IMO best mould of Prime in Leader and Voyager class.

The trailer will have to be truly epic or something more than a few minute cameo in the movie, its not like G1 Primes trailer which was present in virtually every episode or issue he was in.

I have the Jetwing Prime, I'm also gonna buy Ultimate Prime and Deluxe and Voyager even the Cyberverse. I think they all are very unique in there own way. They all look different to each other.

I like the voyager one with the trailer :) The reviews look really good - except for the fact that the trailer doesn't actually do anything (except open up and store weapons). I was hoping there would be some extra stuff in there too - eg Roller, or something!
