This is easily the best smaller scale (Legends, Deluxe and Voyager) Movie-verse Starscream available.

Transformation is relatively easy but still manages to be satisfyingly intricate.

He displays very well and looks a lot better in person than the pictures make him out to be (especially bot mode - see here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?p=241424#post241424)).

I'm a fan of the massive Mech-Tech weapon on this guy and only wished that it was molded in another colour (instead of the poo-brown it comes in).

I got him at the same time as Leader Sentinel Prime and for me, he's actually a better toy - more enjoyable to fiddle with and pose.

He's definitely worthwhile picking up even at RRP (Big W's $23 RRP, not Myer's $30 RRP).

The Mech-Tech weapon reminds me so much of Energon Starscream's weapon that I wonder if that was intentional?

I'm not interested this time. Already have 4 movie Starscreams so can't justify getting a deluxe version, especially as I've avoided buying the deluxe versions of others (Ratchet, Ironhide)

Good observation mate - now that you mention it, I do see the resemblance.

Intentional? Maybe. More of a co-incidence I reckon.

Let's hope that they do a G1-esque repaint of this one as well. :)

This is a fairly poor figure to be honest. It feels really small for a deluxe (I'm assuming this is because the mechtech weapon is disproportionately massive). On that note the Mechtech stuff is quite unwieldly and for my money poorly implemented - I'd have preferred to have see him given something that could have fitted a bit more with his alt mode and wasn't so annoyingly large (something similar to the rocketlauncher he has on screen).

The proportions are iffy in bot mode due to a lack of mass on the limbs (exacerbated comincally by the relatively fat thighs).

Give it a miss.

Save for the leader class figure.

Great little figure, I bought him mostly for the mech tech weapon, thought it would look good extended on some voyagers and leaders, but I was pleasently surprised by how cool this guy is on his own.

+
Jet mode is alot less chunky then the leader version
Proportions are just right, very sturdy on his feet
More or less very movie accurate
Gerwalk mode!

Lack of paint apps
Pretty small for a deluxe, not much bigger than some PCCs

Overall great figure, probably the best version of Starscream apart from the Leader.

Easier than the two voyager versions (and obviously the Leader version), but still tricky enough to take longer than I had anticipated to convert to jet mode. The rear section of the jet didn't seem to lock in properly, so didn't align properly, but everything else just seemed to fit in so nicely, without being too tight for space (like Crankcase was, or most TF2 toys were).
The sides of the Robot mode bug me a bit, and my mechtech weapon doesn't hold together when joined, so leave it as two separate weapons.
The jet mode looks nice, with hardly any robot bits sticking out to spoil it.
The robot mode though ends up being too short and stumpy, due to the short legs (which had to squeeze into a small section of the jet mode). So the robot mode was sacrificed for the jet mode this time.
I recommend it if cheap, but would probably recommend one of the larger Starscream toys - for both design and scale.
