IMAX 3d push by cars

Im hearing that Disney is stating that Cars 2 must be played in imax3d theatres for 2 weeks. Thus, bumping TF3 off to a later date in IMAX 3d.

Anyone with more information on the matter? Might just be for Americans

That's possible, but it depends on distributor and cinema chain really. These deals are made bewteen the cinemas and distributors all the time, I suspect that the cinema chain would probably prefer Transformers as it is more likely to get the demographic that can spend the extra. Does Imax cost more ticket wise?

Wouldn't be new. Harry Potter and Transformers 2 had to battle it out over the Imax screens.
