I have on numerous occassions. They are excellent to deal with. Shipping is more 1-2 weeks from my experience.

wow this is more expensive than when WFC came out at $80rrp.

i've ordered from various UK based online stores and they've always done a good job and yes 1-2 week delivery.

Just for anyone wondering GAME US&UK had Sideswipe as an exclusive pre-order bonus (amazon had Ratchet but he's unlockable in the game anyway) but when I emailed GAME here, a couple days back they basically said they had no idea if we were getting the same pre-order DLC. I guess this late out it's safe to assume not.

It's good to see that there is an alternative to JB and EB for those wanting to pick up a copy locally. It sort of begs the questions - why the massive difference??? It just highlights how some big companies try to rip us off.

You'd be surprised at how little mark up is in games for most retailers. My partner for example, works in receiving at a Harvey Norman store and gets to see what the distributor charges the retailers. The margin is jack all by the time you ad GST, and most of the time BigW's launch day pricing is $10-$20 below the COST of the product for smaller stores like harvey norman or other franchised stores like Gametraders.

It's true that BigW and Kmart's national buying power is massive, but I'd bet they are still making a loss on new release games, which they can afford to do because other areas in the store that profit more are used to subsidize the loss in software.

Retailers aren't trying to rip anyone off, they're basically just trying not to make a loss. If the added benefits of our stronger dollar are going anywhere, it's into the pockets of the distributors unfortunately.

In this case, I think I'll just pay the extra $10 over importing to buy the game at BigW.

That's why %-off sales usually exclude games and consoles, due to the small profit margin. But they make their money through the turn-over of sales though and peripheral items.

That $10 you pay is well worth it cos you would have finished the game by the time it arrives from the UK!

EB Games is showing a release date of July now, exact date unspecified. Certainly not in any shops I went to. Bit crap considering we were getting it 2 weeks later than the US as it was.

I was only going to be renting it anyway, or grabbing it from the cheap bin in 6 months time.

So far seems pretty much like a decent mod of WFC, which was a pretty safe route to take. They didn't even bother to change some of the sound effects and graphics.

EB are just hopeless. The game was at both Big W and Kmart in my area for a MUCH cheaper price. I picked it up, pretty fun game if you get over the fact it's just WFC re-skinned. Mirage, Ironhide, Soundwave and Lazerbeak are really fun to play as. I can't get online for some reason though, and other Aussies who bought the game are reporting the same. I suspect it's the same problem we had with WFC... High Moon Studios realy need to get off their asses and do something about this.

From the videos posted before the games release I'm kinda surprised that it wasn't already common knowledge that DOTM is just a re-badged WFC. I thought it was pretty obvious :confused:

I already had WFC and decided to get DOTM as well... probably because I was never going to pay those insane EB or JB prices :rolleyes:

What was the problem with WFC? I was able to play online for 6 months and then I could very very rarely connect ever again. Got something about not being able to connect to te server or it being unavailable, something like it. Was that the problem everyone else had? If your not able to play online with the DOTM fame then I won't be buying it
