I like how Bay didn't mind the comment, he did admit in the 2007 Movie Behind-The-Scenes videos that he demands everyone to bring their A-game and though some people see that as being harsh, he sees it as getting the best results out of people.

There was a reference in the Dark of the Moon novel at least, where it's suggested that it took Sam quite a while to 'get over' Mikaela. ;)

a) Steven Spielberg is of Jewish heritage
b) Michael Bay's adoptive parents are Jewish (Bay himself has been bar mitzvahed) and his cousin is married to Leonard Nimoy, also of Jewish heritage
c) Optimus Prime is Jewish

Wally Burr (Voice Director) was the same with the Gen1 Voice Actors, to bring out their best, and they had the maturity to respect him for it... to the extent that they praise him to this day (at BotCon).
