The SDCC begins in about a week, which is likely to have a number of presentations that relate to Transformers, including new toy products. Plus, as the convention continues to grow each year, more and more exclusive toy products are being produced just for that event.
This year in particular, there appears to be 4 different Transformers themed items (that I know of) for purchase!!!
Ultimate TF3 Optimus Prime, packaged in truck mode and exclusive packaging (which should have been a month earlier than it's general release, but some are saying it has already begun to ship from Asian sources this week).
It shouldn't be an exclusive deco.
Transformers:Prime Deluxe Optimus Prime - also doesn't appear to be an exclusive deco, but is some 4 months advance-release of the general release of this figure. Comes in exclusive Matrix-shaped packaging.
Optimus Prime Nerf blaster (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/sdcc-exclusive-nerf-optimus-prime-blaster/22296/) - this one is news to me... it appears to be a TFs coloured pre-existing Nerf blaster called 'Barricade RV-10', and NOT the upcoming TF3 Nerf blaster (http://www.toycollectors.com.au/tftoys/rp11.jpg). It costs US$25, and requires batteries.
GIJoe Skystriker as Starscream (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/inhand-images-of-the-sdcc-exclusive-transformers-gi-joe-crossover-starscream-sky-striker/22331/), with Cobra Commander holding Megatron in gun mode - If ever you wanted an official crossover toy for these two Hasbro franchises, we finally get one... and it will be probably be a nuisance to obtain one. It even comes with a rub-sign - how cool is that?
Official packaging images of the two Primes and the Starscream can be seen here (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/tfcc-update-sdcc-exclusives-will-not-be-available-at-the-club-store/22291/).

I just remembered the advance release of the TRU MP Rodimus (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/toysrus-sdcc-press-release-and-exclusives/22269/) will be at the SDCC as well, which is the same figure and packaging as the general release.

The Amazon Unicron has 'Decepticon' on the box  Also, I didn't realise he still had the light-up hand (I thought they got rid of it).

Unfortunately my Armada box is buried under a tone of other boxes but if memory serves me, I believe that version was also labelled a Decepticon, I think it is purely labelled as such so that parents and the un-informed can identify the toy as a bad guy. ;):)
Either way, I am really considering picking this one up as I decided to skip the Takara 2010 issue.

That's DOTM Air Raid from Wave 5. Which is kind of confusing as there's already been a Japanese DOTM Air Raid.
Windsweeper's this guy: http://www.ntfa.net/universe/english/index.php?act=view&char=Windsweeper and here: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Windsweeper

Ah ok, wasn't the Takara figure a different mold though? - And a repaint at that?

Indeed, hence the potential confusion about two completely different MechTech Deluxe Air Raids. Although amusingly on the back of his packaging, the Japanese version is at one point referred to as Air Laid. (The Transformers equivalent of the Mile High Club, perhaps. ;)) The US version's MechTech weapon looks sweet. Plus it's one of the few that are actually 100% appropriate for vehicle mode.

Yep, totally agree with you there and I hope it's a continuing trend with the Deluxe figures from that wave onward. ;):)

The head fin makes me think "Skybyte" repaint.
Although when I first read your post I thought you said "Waspinator". I think it was the bright green and yellow of the toy in the picture that made me read it wrong. :o

I'd love it if MechTech weapons were better integrated from now on, like on Air Raid (and Megatron before that)

Good joke, but more likely due to the R and L being a combination of the two in the japanese alphabet.
I do like that joke though, I think we should make it canon;)
Maybe thats why the G1 Autobots were jealous of the fliers.......

Generations Sky Shadow looks awesome! Love the red and black colour scheme and that head remold. I'm a bit disappointed in the DOTM Soundwave toys I mean they look ok but nothing special, but knowing me I'll still get them.

After reading the QnA I'm assuming at this point that Hasbro are having licensing issues with Ferrari and thus won't be doing a Dino. :(

Or it'll end up a case like 'what's his name' that gets sliced in 2 by Sideswipe in ROTF that was an Audi. ;)

Just watching the Morning show and they had a special with Larry at SDCC. They had a shot with Larry standing below the TF: Prime Optimus statue and he said "Now i'm no mechanic, but this transformer has got some loose nuts" - Queue prime groin shot - WTF

Why do they let fools like him out into the rest of the world to represent our country. That's just embarrassing.
