This will be a Wave 5 release by Hasbro (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/bic-camera-exclusive-dark-of-the-moon-sideswipe-repaint-dark-steel/22356/), called Dark Iron. It also seems that TakaraTomy will release it, but as Dark Steel, but as a store exclusive/incentive at Bic Camera stores in Japan.
Pre-orders at that store begin August 16th, to be released September 23rd.

Damn that's an awesome custom. Just goes to show that even something as unlikely as a BW figure can get some great Classics/Movieverse treatment.

i didn't notice it before but that looks like a new head! nice. i actually just wanted it for the weapon redeco but i like the quality treatment they are giving this figure with the painted grill and hubcaps.

As I said in the group chat, at least they painted the mould this time... Looks stacks better than lat grey.

I didn't notice the new head before, that's always pretty cool!

Also because this is BW related, inb4 Husty.

It's not even a custom, it's a Wave 5 Movie Deluxe/Japanese Bic Camera exclusive. :cool:

This was probably the best of the new movie toys they showed us at BotCon IMHO. All the pics plus the 'post movie' reveals should be available after this weekend.

wow that looks nice, but is his head based on quickstrike's beast mode head or tail? since Quickstrike's robot mode head was yellow wasnt it?
regardless I'll get it the first chance i get even though i already have DOTM sideswipe, this repaint is just too good to pass up

Pretty cool. Could be that Hasbro are testing the waters to see if it does well to maybe do more or delve into BW more ;)

And an official product page at TakaraTomy site (http://tf.takaratomy.co.jp/toy/event/2011/darksteal/)for Darksteel... but the link says Darksteal (which could be the actual name, relating to theft, and not a translation of Hasbro's 'Iron').

Exclusive to Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera and Yamada Denki in Japan, and is scheduled for release in September for a price of 3150 yen.
