Hi guys,

I'm sad to say that I will be needing to part ways with my lovely Ultimate Collectors Edition Millennium Falcon. I have broken it up into smaller (yet still assembled) pieces and have placed it back in its original box. If there is anyone who would be interested in purchasing this rare set off me, please put forward interest.

Cheers
-Joe

OMG that's insane, love to get it but I think the price and its size would be way out of my reach!

I am sad to hear this, it's such a lovely and distinctive set.

But I can't afford it, sorry. I hope you find a buyer that pays you for what it's worth.

Oh god.

This is rather tempting based on price.
Regardless, I'd need to layby it. lol

How much would you be looking for?

My own interest aside,

As a mod, I supose we should treat this like it is in the sales forum. Seeing as this is a sales thread. So the same rules (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=9293) should apply.
If you're unsure about prices, try checking for it on Ebay (http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=lego+millennium+falcon+10179) or Bricklink (http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=68171&colorID=0).

But my advice would be to post a price with a "offers accepted."

Hey guys,

well the last eBay sale I saw for one of these went for around $950 + shipping. I am willing to sell for $850 + shipping. I know that is pretty pricey, but considering a brand new one on Amazon goes for about $1800 its much more affordable.

Cheers,
-Joe

I would be willing to pay that.

As I mentioned before though, I do not have the cash on me. I would have to pay you over a period of time. Possibly a month or 2. A month if I cut back drastically on outings etc.
Which I am willing to do.

That is pretty much the only way I'll be able to take it off your hands.
If someone is willing to pay cash upfront, and you need it upfront, then I understand.

Man, I should totally have gone out and invested in like a dozen of these.

weren't these 5 or 7 hundred dollars apiece on the shelf? your a very wealthy transformers collector if you generally have 6K spending money just lying around for "investing" in Lego:D

honestly though, now that it's ony available through secondary sources, it's one of those things that's hard to put a value on. The opportunity to have one, and the space to display it are priceless as it is. like a classics cliffjumper with upgrade set but not quite as severe. opportunity gone.

hehe, yeah, I totally would've at 200% + but hindsight's always 20-20, isn't it? GP recently mentioned that with the new Millenium Falcon too, I wasn't too sure but maybe I should've when we had that Myer One deal on top of 20%.

I see the Falcon kind of like a Fort Max to most TF fans. It becomes that grail that you want so bad b/c even though it's large and clunky but it is a special milestone in one's collection. Sure, different collectors might have different goals like say Lio-Kaiser, Predaking or Star Saber / Leo Victory etc but everyone knows Fort Max is the primary grail. The Falcon I reckon is similar.

And yeah, space is a killer too with these things. I'm having a look at the new large Star Wars ship that will likely be part of next year's sale and as great as it looks, it's huge. Not sure if I could find space for it

I would not expect the same markup. The Shuttle is far from as iconic as the Falcon.

I remember that, it seemed so much at the time, I thought you were nuts. If I had my time again, with Christmas layby too ect.. I'd probably jump at it.

I have the new (small) one on layby at myer but I think I'll cancel it. I'm just not sure it is cool enough.

I think the new one is awesome. Haven't built it yet, but should be a fun build, and has a very cool, playset interior.
