Darn, Now Ill have to collect this:o:o:o! Was hoping the toys would be ugly that I wouldn't want it....but it's certainly much better than Bayverse toys... so much better. Ah well, at least it's going to have limited characters so I'm still quite happy.

I always tend to get excited over Hasbro promotional photos realising that the end product almost always looks different e.g. lacking paint apps etc, but dammmmmn.... these do look good  That's one of the best looking Primes I have seen  Even Cliffjumper gets some love (even if it is only in zombie form :p).

I agree lol there hand painted prototypes always look great and then we get the molded colored plastic toys in the stores and they sometimes look totally different lol.. TF Prime is one line im going to get into. I loved Animated and these have the feel on those but still very different and very screen accurate. That prime is just bad A$$ . Im hoping to get the SDCC Prime exclusive in the matrix packaging as well.

Also I hope that we see the Vehicon jet in the lineup as well as the Vehicon car

I will say one thing though- I hope they release voyager asst versions of the deluxes and ultra asst versions of the voyagers so that things like the deployable weapons in alt modes could be incorporated into the designs.

They look pretty snazzy, and fairly accurate to the show. (Must have been a little easier for the toy designers this time around compared to animated!)
I wonder if we will see them before christmas this year, since the focus will be the movie line...

I wasn't a fan of animated and these look very similar, I'll buy them as they are TF's but mainly for that reason only not because I'm overly enthusiastic for this line. I will say they are better than the Movieverse figures but that wouldn't be hard as I consider them very ugly:rolleyes:

Honestly, he really does look to be pretty damn show accurate for a Show Model that doesn't seem to lend itself kindly to plastic engineering - A massive feat I'd agree. ;)

Yep, I'm 100% with you on Prime Kaiden but I'll have to disagree with you on Cliffjumper as he is a pretty cool looking repaint and minor retool IMO - Which in it's self is weird because you'd think they'd show the original before the modified version?:p

I'm pretty sure the BotCon panel showed the regular Cliffjumper in an early general release, and the zombie Cliffjumper as a later general release (the proper one was shown as a toy and only art of the zombie one IIRC).

i guess cliffjumper's chest is mistranformed. :(
the TT designers have done an amazing job again..seems no matter what style the concept art is or how practically impossible the deisgn looks to be able to translate to 3d form, they are still able to pull it off if. for instance bulkhead's chest that's amazingly screen accurate!

2 things that stick out for me are scale issues with assortments and the inconsistencies between show and toy accuracy.
Take Skyquake with Scale for example. He towers over Prime, so if Prime is a Voyager, then why isn't Skyquake an Ultra.
The second thing it that what I would dub as "Hasbro syndrome" has kicked in again. The designers seem so focused on getting show accuracy right, yet the hidden weapons for vehicle mode are nowhere to be found.
I get that they need to market to a prime point and there are cost factors involved, but is a flip out panel with a gun on it or 2- even if the guns don't move, really two much to ask for?
Also, while I realise I've got buckleys of seeing Makeshift as a figure, where the heck is the Vehicon Air Drone?

A huge thanks KillingSpoon, that makes things much easier! :D
My thoughts on the recent unveilings:
Cliffjumper/Zombie - Both versions are stunning and the hardest decision with Cliff will be whether or not to pick up both. :p
Eradicon - The colour scheme and the style of this figure has me seriously considering my 1st army build!
Prime (Voyager) - Outstanding! - The engineers have really outdone themselves here, simply outstanding. :D
Bulkhead - This is truly a marvel of modern TF engineering, as much as (V) Prime is an achievement, this big bloke is truly at the forefront!:D
Soundwave - Hmm... Deluxe?, regardless, he looks absolutely *Expletive_Deleted* Awesome! + Laserbeak! :D:cool:
Knockout - Oh hell yeah man, this guy is 10 shades of awesome, even in prototype grey! ;)
Wheeljack (Deluxe) - Oh man, they nailed Jacky! + Swords! = Win!
Skyquake - Oh yeah, this bad boy is a definite must-have, he's just so damn cool! :)
Starscream (Voyager) - Oddly enough, I'm actually finding myself prefering the Deluxe figure, the proportions are far better and he'll be in better scale with Soundwave and Skyquake, looks like I'll be giving this one a miss...

Not to mention the light up gun, what is with that haha?
Knockout and Skyquake are definitely my favourite!
They seem to have nailed SQ's jet mode also, with all the broken lines around the cockpit :D
I'm loving these designs, even more so than recent classics releases!

Yeah, I'm totally not feeling that 'Energon Weapon' getup they've got going on either. :(
Indeed, though I can't quite see if they've given Knockout his trademark smirk, Skyquake looks as if he is a figure who is totally going to live up to his name! :D
You can really see in these figures where the engineers have had the opportunity to merge what little tricks they've learnt with the Movie lines, with that of the Classicsverse lines - man those guys are simply incredible with what they do!

Well you know, if you look at the picture with the hand on Starscream - he may be "packaged" as a Voyager, but he certainly looks like Deluxe Sized to me... another one of them money making schemes, I guess put a small toy in a big box and sell in an upper size class price, hmmmmm:rolleyes:. Hmm havent seen a proper Arcee or Bbee yet, hope they done mess up the sizing. Their is only 5 core members for the autobots, so the chances of them messing it up should be really slim, honestly.;)

I am sure there is a jet Vehicon/ Decpitclone/ Horde Trooper (or whatever they are called:p) on the way. IIRC, they just looked like flying cars, so they should be fairly easy to remould the car one a bit and bammo! more toys for me to buy.....
Cool to see that Wheeljack gets a spaceship too. I am gussing for the Legend size? Although one for the deluxe guy would be awesome!!

The Deluxe Arcee, Starscream and Bumblebee on display at BotCon were small deluxes. Bumblebee looked the biggest because of his bulk. Starscream and Arcee looked about the height of MechTech Deluxes but half the width because both were so thin. I would guess Prime toys will match DOTM toys for size across all the size classes.

I find it hard to believe after all thsi time that people are still going on about scale and Transformers. When have we ever had a line that had all the figures in scale? None that I can think of.
And yet for this line, scale does seem to be there for the most part in terms of robot modes. Prime and Bulkhead are in cartoon accurate scale with Arcee and Bumblebee. Similar deal with Soundwave, the drones, Cliffjumper and Starscream.
Skyquake is the exception. The other annoying thing with him is that he's missing his gattling cannon. The thing about Skyquake has always been that besides being a flying physical powerhouse, he's always been able to rain down pain (which is also something the writers went with in the show). Now the toy doesn't. It's somewhat disappointing.
Tetsuwan Convoy
23rd July 2011, 10:31 AM
Perhaps the Deluxe Prime will be in scale with Skyquake. It sucks about the missing Gattling gun though.
AS to the rest of the scale size, well, I will wait and see for the toys themselves. Bulkhead might end up like his animated counterpart for all we know.;)

Starscream and Arcee looked about the height of MechTech Deluxes but half the width because both were so thin.
from peaugh's pictorial review (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/434771-transformers-prime-deluxe-class-starscream.html) of starscream, he's actually preeeeetty tall in bot mode. i think the problem with him is that his bot mode is so spindly that if his vehicle mode was deluxed sized the bot would have lockdown syndrome and completely tower over everyone else. at least only he's a little looming for a deluxe now.
on the other end of the spectrum at least bulkhead is guaranteed to have good height though, what with voyagers packed in bot mode
Tetsuwan Convoy
23rd July 2011, 02:44 PM
Lockdown was supposed to be that tall, as he is a Decepticon and the Deceps in Animated were meant to tower over the Autobots.
DOTM votyagersw are in robot mode and they don't inspire height confidence. But hey, time will tell.
