Just cracked open my Generations Kup to find I have a defective arm joint :(

I seem to recall in the cartoon movie or series Kup losing an arm at some point but I'm not sure. Either way it's kinda funny.

Is there an Email for Hasbro I can use to see if they will replace it? Surely it's replaceable since it was defective straight out of the packaging?

Do you still have the receipt? You should take that back to the store and get a replacement or refund.
I bought a few ROTF scouts last year that had dodgy ball joints (ie. The limbs just fell off at the slightest touch), the stores were happy to refund them.

Got a Hot Rod around? He can fix him.

I think he broke a leg off in the movie :D... Boy kup really lives up to it's gimmick ei? - breaks down due to being a old codger heheheh

I don't have a Rodimus unfortunately. I'd be all over that two pack with Galvatron but the colours just look wrong...

I found an email for Hasbro and fired them off one asking if they could do anything.

He looks soo pissed that he's holding his arm in his other hand.

"I don't remember anything like this"

Should get rid of that nasty burr in his rotater as well..

I think he lost and arm and a leg in the movie. I remember him swinging his shoulder about afterwards.

you should chuck it on ebay as 'movie accurate' kup

Actually I think I like the idea of throwing him up on ebay as movie accurate. I bet he'd fetch a fair price

No reply from Hasbro yet. I guess either they're slow to reply to emails or they're gonna flat out ignore me :(

Seriouslythough, just take it back for an exchange, unless you cna't find any anywhere. you shouldn't even need a receipt for an exchange, just make sure not to walk into the store with it.:D

Hasbro will just tell you to take it back. They've told me they don't stock parts nor do they have any ability to replace figures. Retailers only.

That's a PITA because I'm going to have to go through BBTS with a middleman thrown into the mix! (It was a group buy)

Fun times! :P

Surely you can just exchange it at pretty much any shop without a reciept. They can claim the damaged item back from Hasbro.

The problem is Kup is hard to find. I've only just seen Warpath and Wheeljack locally for the first time and they've been out for yonks.

Push comes to shove I will just buy a new one. They're $10 @ BBTS atm.

And this s why I recommend BBTS. Here's what they sent me...

I apologize for the problem! We would be happy to send you a replacement. A new order has been set up in your account for a 'replacement part' and BBTS has paid for this order. You can view our 'customer service' payment in the payment details for this order online. You will receive an email when it ships. It won't be worth the cost to send back the defective item. Sorry again for the problem!

I've already received shipping confirmation so it shouldn't take long

See that's why I use BBTS most of the time when I order stuff, and my missus orders her LDD with them as well. They have great customer service, and I haven't had a problem with them yet. Shipping is a tad on the pricey side, but we get our stuff within 2 weeks of shipping, often in a week.

Looks like I will be paying you and your gigantic TV a visit once more! :D

On the plus side, this means I will have two laser muskets.

I should order the iGear heads to make him even more bad ass!

Def order the Igear heads! Cut broken kups leg off and put scuffs all over him for a movie accurate and then eBay that shizzle!

Ingram

iGear heads would definitely justify a BBTS order I've been umming and ahhing over currently.

I reckon I'd rather use my dud Kup to attempt that modifcation where the door panels are moved to his legs in turn freeing up his arms. Then he's be more poseable and more G1 accurate.

Though he really does need to lift some weights. Skinny arms for an old timer.

Sorry for the double post. I ended up doing that panel mod to dud Kup just then. Pretty easy and I recommend it!

You lose a tad of poseability in the legs but gain much more from the arms.

I also tried to fix his arm. I noticed there is a heap of stuck melted plastic inside the join area so I tried my best to scrap it out. Now his arm sits on a bit better but still falls off.

I'm quite happy with the arms mod, once I get my replacement I can mix and match parts so I can revert back to how he comes if I wanted.

If I wanted to go another step further it would be working out what paint colour etc I need to paint the section of his arms that were covered by the panels. I best not open that can of worms though else I'd want to paint them all!

Very interesting, but I don't think I will do that to my Kup, as I have the Ehobby version, and don't want to ruin him with putting holes in him. If I find RTS version locally, then I would consider buying him and doing it.

BBTS have him on clearance for $10 USD at the moment FYI :)

That's cheap, but he's a want. I leave this job next week and start my new one the week after, so kinda watching my funds from this pay :p

Wise choice.

I think I will just order the iGear heads from Ebay. About $15 AUD shipped form Hong Kong. Hopefully it's genuine?
