For the Beast Era fans out there (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/beast-wars-ii-dvd-boxset-listed-on-rakuten/22558/), and for those like me who like to collect the various TFs cartoons on DVD and/or be able to watch them, another of the JP-only cartoons appears to be coming to DVD soon.
Beast Wars II (or Second) is listed on a Japanese online store for an October 20th release for 29,400yen. It will contain all 43 episodes.
Hopefully this sells well enough to prompt the release of other JP-only cartoons, as they often feature toys (even Hasbro ones) that were never cast in Hasbro cartoons.
It'd be good if it has english subtitles too.
(I think the price is wrong though, as it converts to about AU$380... which is too high for a 43 episode boxset)

I'm very excited about this! Not the Japanese release itself, but the opening of possibilities for a US release with subs.
The price is about right, DVDs and CDs in Japan are just insanely expensive. When i was over there I decided to buy the latest EXILE CD album that was being advertised at the time. Most stores wanted around the A$80 mark for the 2 disk set
Another example, just because:
1 episode of Gundam Unicorn with a 16-page booklet, 5800yen! (US$75)

It's times like this I like to remember how fortunate we are over here :)

oooooo! I hope they release this outside of Japan. No way I am paying more Japanese prices for these.
Hows this for an example/insanity?
As my wife is Japanese and really liked Lord of the Rings, I thought I would be nice and buy the 3 movies on Jap DVD. Well, a trip to amazon Japane and the cheapest set I could find (with admittedly lots of bonus material) ended up costing me approx $320 aus.
It ended up being equivalent to the deluxe release over here in DVD, with some extras.
Odd to see a Box set in Japan though to be honest. Most anime and the like they release over there seem to be in small volumes for abour 5000yen!

If Madman is crawling this site, I'd totally buy english-subtitled boxsets of Beast Wars II (and Beast Wars Neo and Car Robots)

Me too!
Price sounds about right, DBZ Kai has just been released on DVD in Japan with 3 episodes a disc for about AU$35 a disc.
Having a boxset release is very strange, as single disc releases seem to be the norm in the Japanese market.

Count me in on that too!!
Although if that were to happen, I would guess that we would have to wait a while longer.

I don't care which country does it - All I'd like is for there to be English Subtitles!
I have the series in a 'Digitally Relocated' fashion and whilst it is cool to watch... I haven't the faintest idea as to what is transpiring beyond "Henshin!" and the Cybertrons and Destrons going at it in a fire fight. :o
