Fun Publications (http://www.transformersclub.com/) (with a new logo that copies a bit of the Hasbro 'smile' logo) have released details of their non-convention print of their BotCon 2011 comic.
(each one is released through comic stores a few months after the convention each year)

This year, they are adding in 16 pages of extra content... but that's not the only incentive this time.

(this was a bit confusing, so hopefully I figured it out)
It sounds like there are several prizes for customers who pre-order and receive the most copies (they have to email funpub and provide proof), while the comic store that orders the most copies will also win a prize pack (to do with as they please).

The Customer prizes:
Grand prize - the Minerva toy
First prize (wouldn't this be second prize if the Grand prize is First?) - TF3 Gaming Mouse & Mouse Pad
Runner-up - (5) signed copy of the comic.

The comic store prize pack - signed copy of the comic, a Fisitron toy, and a TF3 Gaming Mouse.

To pre-order a copy, or to try to win a prize, head on down to your comic store while September Previews is available. The comic appears on page 298.

At US$8 per comic, I wonder how many people will be buying dozens of copies to try to get Minerva... and end up not winning anything (or ending up with a runner-up prize of another copy of the comic).

(when this is released, there will be such a flood of cheap copies on ebay from all the people who tried to get Minerva)

Man I hate the way they always do this.

It's a club friggin comic and they release a general release that is better than the one the club members get. Seriously what sort of club is this that treats it's members so bad???

And yet I still join up

It was the comic at the (expensive) convention, which makes it worse than the membership comic... even for those who bought non-attendee sets.
But I know what you mean though.
They don't need to add in extra stuff to make their extra money off 'Joe average'. But in their effort to sell extra copies to the BotCon attendees, they add in 16 extra pages (not just a page or two, but 50% more!) they end up annoying the fans who now have to buy the duplicate comic for the extra material, and annoy those who want the extra material but don't because they don't want a duplicate comic.
They are specifically targeting those who already have a copy to make them buy a duplicate or miss out - how do they expect those people to feel about that.

I will most likely be getting another copy.
I'm not particularly annoyed because I expected this to happen.

Is this the Animated Stunticon based comic or a SG based comic?

It is the Animated Stunticon-Job comic that came with the Boxset.

When they've replaced the convention programs with bios in the previous releases that's often not been enough incentive to buy the book again, but added new "Allspark Alamanc" style content will be.

I'm also hoping they do release a compilation of the club magazine comic too now that the Nexus Maximus storyline is finished. They did for the first larger story arc, the Balancing Act trade, but no word on this yet.
