Lines/figures you like for all the wrong reasons

I thought a thread like this might be in order.

Mine would have to be the Energon Line. The thing to me doesn't work that well as a quality TF line, but instead feels like Super Robot Wars but in a really good way.

Unicron looks like he's been assimilated by the Borg, the deluxe Autobots look like they're out of the Brave series, Prime/Wingsaber and Omega Supreme look like they're a Megazord Team and the rest remind me of a heap of different Super Robots with similar attacks.

And yet at the same time, the toyline works as those things. The Prime team is one of the few things form Energon I kept while I love Energon Unicron's colour scheme because it's so unconventional while working at the same time.

Now, anyone that knows me or has dealt with me knows that I'm all about the Beasts (of the Wars variety, not of the Machines), but I'm about to make an amazing admission.

RID Optimus Prime is a great toy in my opinion.

I bought him when a local Toy Kingdom was shutting down, all toys 50% off so I got him for $40.

He's more of an Ultra Magnus in regards to his smaller robot covered in kibble to make him a larger 'bot.

But he's great. I don't like the fact that I like him, but there you have it.

I no longer own him, might track one down one day, just for the hell of it. Who wouldn't like a foot-long Firetruck that transforms?

I've only seen a couple of episodes of Beast Wars in my childhood, and the cgi personally puts me off watching the rest of it but I do collect some of the toys for the one fact alone that they are robots that transform into animals. So I don't really care for the characters that the toys represent, but that the toys are so ridiculously awesome!!

Verno you have just totally gone up a few more notches on my awesome scale. That Prime is my favourite vehicular prime/ convoy of all.

My guilty pleasure is Robot Heroes (but just the G1's) I was sad when they canceled the line before we got Dezaurus, RiD Prime and a pile of others.

If I got the chance I'd collect the Powercore Combiners minicons, because some of them make wicked Targetmasters :p
