Prime Cartoon DVD in US in December

The current TFs DVD license holder in America (Shout Factory) has the 5-part intro Prime story scheduled for release on December 6th.

For those interested (because it isn't likely to be released here on DVD for a long time, due to it not even screening here until the end of the year), Amazon have it up for pre-order here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005M5OSB0?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1) for just US$10.50.


On a side note, it is good to see Shout Factory producing yet another Transformers cartoon DVD, or at least, they are still finding it profitable producing TFs DVDs, because it improves the chances of them eventually doing Animated Season 3 (the only "US" TFs cartoon not officially released on DVD yet). And I'd certainly be one jumping on that.

While I'm hanging to get hold of this on DVD, I think I'll wait till it's released as season boxes. Thanks for the offer though Fatbot.

The distributor has issued a press release (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-prime-darkness-rising-presented-for-the-first-time-as-a-feature-length-movie/23092/) about this upcoming release.
It mentions that it has been edited into a single movie format, in widescreen.
Unlike Animated (which had its intro story as being separate to the first season), these 5 episodes are likely to be re-released in "season 1" set, whenever that happens.

Extras include Animatics and concept designs of characters and backgrounds.
It also reminds us that the 5 episodes have been editted into one "movie".

Just got the shipping notice from Amazon - these are now released, and on their way to people who ordered them.

What's a "DVD"? Seriously, have these guys heard of HD? Digital distribution? Can I get it on Laserdisc?

The Prime DVDs arrived today, and for $15, I don't mind doubling up to have this "movie" format in addition to the separate episode format of the Season DVD set coming out next year. It makes it a lot easier to watch in one continuous hit, than upsetting the momentum with opening and closing credits every 20 minutes.
It is also nice having the score music playing for about 10 minutes of animatics - the 3 bonus features are animatics (design process) of the cast, the sets and of the first episode (with voice over of the cast).

It's finally good to be able to watch this in full-screen format, instead of the clips of youtube.
