This looks excellent but like others am not really feeling this as an Arcee, maybe a Paradron Medic perhaps? - I'd have no problems with adding this figure as another Classicsverse Fembot though. ;)

Agreed. I'll take a recolour.

But Paradron Medic? One of most armed medics I've ever seen. :)

Well, they always say that the ladies are good at multi-tasking. ;):p
(The figure gives off a major Starcraft Ghost feel IMO :))

An interesting suggestion being put forward by those abroad is that this figure could make for an interesting 'Updated' Cy-Kill from Gobots, what do you guys think?

Looking pretty awesome with all those weapon options on her back. Price will be the decider for me, so far I have yet to see a 3rd party Arcee that offers any sort of value for money.

I think it looks pretty good, but there is going to be a Prime Arcee in just a ew months.

Another thought is the leg design on this looks to be stolen/borrowed directly form animated Prowl.

It's certainly growing on me a lot but I am still not liking her being a bike.

Hope they recolor for a Chromia instead, I prefer my Arcee to be a car, and Chromia to be a bike :p
\
and on the Cykill issue... nah, too skinny, Cykill has to have some bulk to him even if he is a bike.

Good spot. The entire transformation is close to Animated Prowl.

I'm actually keen to pick this up, for a change. All the other third party Arcee offerings so far have been very very underwhelming.

It's up for Pre-Order (http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop/main.php?action=details&CatType=Category&II=PEDX01&lang=us&CatID=73_4) now too along with it's repaint (http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop/main.php?action=details&CatType=Category&II=PEDX01B&lang=us&CatID=73_4), man it's getting harder and harder to decide where to spend one's money - 3rd Part or TFCC Membership... :o

I pre-ordered. She's going to look great side by side with Defender, Protector and City Commander.

Strange that the Main Season 3 bots on my shelf are all Third party figures now...

She certainly has that 'FP' style look to her. I am beginning to warm up to this Arcee even if she is a bike.

Same here. This is why I am thankful for the 3rd party movement. The official stuff that is of interest seems to dwindle down or is not enough if you are not into movie or random figures.

Wow, comes with Die cast parts too, and it's just the right size too! 75 bucks , hmmmm okay ill bite but not with RK prolly with BBTS

Man just spent a fair bit on 3rd party stuff and looks like I'll have to grab this in pink and blue LOL.

I usually order from RK as they are the cheapest in prices and shipping although I do like how BBTS do stuff too.

I have to agrees with KUp, I have more interest in 3rd party as opposed to official Takara Hasbro stuff.

So for those of you that bought this figure, how is the quality?

And is RobotKingdom the cheapest place to get it?

Thanks.

Lord_Zed
10th June 2012, 10:11 PM
Basically quality is good, same sort of materials as most 3rd party toys so better than Hasbro. Consistent with Perfect Effects previous Reflector release. The core robot figure feels solid enough for it's size and the joints all work fine.

Bar one tab that I broke a peg by being stupid, however that was my fault, and I fixed it better anyway.

Despite this I have no complaints quality wise and the articulation is awesome.

I got mine from RK, there may be cheaper but I like RK, postage took only a few days.:)

Thanks for the quick review Lord Zed, much appreciated.

Now, it's time to try and secure some funds for this figure along with Maketoys Green Giant....

If you like Perfect Effects previous toys you will like this toy.

It has the typical PE features, good or bad:

Highly articulate action figure like robot.
Lots of weapon accessories
Accessories form part of the alt mode and are necessary to transform.
The accessories make it feel a little like a parts former however the core robot is one piece so it isn't.

FP are still my preferred 3rd party company, but these guys are building on their strengths. I look forward to thier next mold.

After seeing the recent CG Renders of their intended remold/retool of this figure to invoke a TF:A-ish Blackarachnia, I've descided to hold out for that! :D:cool:

And as promised here is a quick review of PE-DX01 Motobot RC or "Not-Arcee" if we want to be honest but I'll just be referring to her as "Arcee" for the purposes of this reveiw.

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC7.jpg

Robot Mode:
The first thing that surprised me was the sturdiness of the plastic on "Arcee". She didn't feel cheap or at all like a knock off or flimsier plastic of say, City Commander or Protector, not that they're bad toys, they just feel a bit more fragile than "Arcee" here. So that's a big plus for any Third Party toy. looking at her it's clear who she's representing. The Feminine lines, The updated "Princess Leia" Head, THE PINK, She's Arcee all modernised and high tech to hang out with your other Season Three Upgraded robots. there's even homages to Animated's Arcee (the swords) and Unicron Trilogy Arcee (The Motorcycle alt mode) She has lots of articulation- about the same you'd find on a standard deluxe sized toy- the head is on a pivot that works up and down, not as high up as I'd like for some nice laying down sniper poses but good enough, ball joints in the shoulders and cut joint in the upper arm, elbow articulation, wrists both a swivel and a hinge to allow some neat poses with her weapons, due to the transformation she has an "Ab Crunch", a swivel waist, articulation in the hips, just a swivel and hinge, a swivel for the thighs, joints in the knees and a swive joint for the "Toe" section and due to the transformation the two funky looking heel pieces
can move for extra balance. All in All a very nice Robot mode indeed. And she has a nice number of accessories too!

She comes with A Sniper Rifle-

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC5.jpg

Two pistols for some neat "Bullet Time" posing-

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC4.jpg

Two swords with clear pink blades-

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC3.jpg

And a teeny tiny snap on visor for you to lose if you're not careful-

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC2.jpg-

Transformation Transformation is not terrbily complex but still involving enough to feel like you've gotten your money's worth but sadly has a few annoying elements to it. Everything folds up nice and neat but there are a few times i had to apply enough force to make me feel like i could break something, not something i want to do to my hundred dollar toy. I won't detail the transformation step by step but it follows along the lines of animated Prowl's design adding a few extra steps in the torso. The things that annoyed me most were the transformation of the legs into wheels. you have to push the feet into the calves and use a lot of force, thanks to pegs on the side of the shins that hold the feet in place. pushing this back out to transform it back to Robot mode scuffs it. in time this will make the transformation easier but wear down the pegs. Surely a better way to do this could have been found.

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC6.jpg

Motorcycle mode
The Motorcylce has rolling wheels and a Kickstand. Yup. it's a motorbike.
There is a lot of detail on this mode. There are brake pads on the wheels, exposed engine parts, exhaust points lots of tiny little details that add up to one very sleek futuristic motorcycle the is reminiscent of Robotech or even Akira. It has lot of painted detail as well. Black lines break up the pink with tiny red and gold applications adding highlights here and there. I'm wondering what the eventual Reprolabels Sticker kit will add to this toy, there's so much.

and of course the obligatory comparison to the other Season Three Third Party upgraded Robots-

http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/Tallestblue/PEDXRC1.jpg

Final Thoughts

I am, I think, A hardcore fan of Arcee. She's had very little representation in the nearly thirty years of Transformers history and G1 Arcee hasn't even received a proper figure from Hasbro yet. So naturally I wanted this figure as soon as it was announced. She is the size of a modern deluxe toy and your other Third party toys will dwarf her but that doesn't bother me in the slightest as she looks great with City Commander, Protector and Defender.
Shes' not 10/10 but shes' certainly an 8 and I can highly recommend her to any third party fan and she makes a great addition to the Classics Season Three roster.
