1AZRAEL1 was with me when I took this pics, and he was first to notice that the Hasbro guns' tabs are thicker - meaning that Rodimus can hold them easier without falling out so easily.

TOMY Rodimus can hold the Hasbro guns just fine, but Hasbro Roddy has a helluva time trying to hold the TOMY guns - they just keep falling out!

Thanks. :) I generally prefer Takara(TOMY), but I gotta say - in terms of MP Starscream and Rodimus, I prefer the Hasbro versions.

Hasbro's MP Starscream has G1-accurate colours (whereas Takara's is "Greenscream") and also superior quality plastic too (the plastic on Takara MP Starscream feels brittle). TOMY's MP Rodimus has more cartoon-like colours and way more effort put into the paint apps (Hasbro's is downright lazy by comparison) -- but it has various flaws... the backpack doesn't clip very tightly (Hasbro's isn't super-tight, but better than TOMY's) and worst of all, TOMY Rodimus is completely incapable of holding his guns! (as you can see in the photo)

Rodimus' trailer is basically just an upsized version of the G1 trailer -- it has some nice extra detailing and features, but it's fundamentally the same thing but bigger. Not worth the hefty price tag on the toy IMO. And worst of all, the gap in the trailer is so stupidly narrow that it scrapes and scratches the robot's spoiler.

I also much prefer Hasbro's MP Grimlock over TOMY's -- the core toy is basically the same, but I prefer the crown accessory over the apron/brain sucker thing... this is just my personal biased preference cos I much prefer the G1 comics over the cartoon. There's nothing inherently wrong with TOMY MP Grimlock though (other than being overpriced, but so is Hasbro's).

The one Takara MP that I think beats Hasbro's hands down would have to be Convoy/Optimus Prime. The Takara version has full lengthed smoke stacks and doesn't have the unsightly looking try-hard Battle Smudges(TM) that Hasbro's has. I wasn't impressed with Hasbro's later release either -- looked too cartoony and IIRC it still had the shortened smoke stacks. The only compliment I'd give to Hasbro's MP Optimus Prime is the black gun over Takara MP Convoy's grey... but overall I much prefer MP Convoy over MP Optimus Prime.
