Well, as I mentioned in another topic I have a copy of the first TF Animated episode but I can't post where I got it since it's essentially a warez site (pirated games, movies, music etc.) however I have decided to upload it to RapidShare.com for anyone who's interested in seeing it here since the YouTube video was removed by the user. Now since this may conflict with the rule of uploading copyrighted material to the site, I'm going to let griffin voice an opinion before actually posting the download links, and if he decides it does conflict, we can delete this thread and forget about it. Until then, I'm just puttin' it out there (no pun intended).

I did post the links to the youtube version, so I guess it would be hypocritical not to allow you to do it as well.
If we have have any problems from anyone official, we can always remove the links and get people to contact you privately for them.
Since this is something that is only officially viewable by Americans and probably won't be here officially for a while anyway, it wouldn't be fair for Hasbro to block fans here from being able to see it in some form. Besides, corporate monopolies preventing consumers from accessing a product is illegal I think.

Well, in that case here we go.

The file is just under 700mb since it's about an hour long. Each rar file is about 98mb, excluding part 8 which is 22mb. The show itself is an avi file. A rather large download, but if you want a more permanent solution that'll stay on your hard drive then it's ideal.

That's going to take a good 6 days or so if you don't have a rapidshare account :)

However it's a good start if you don't know other means of acquiring it ;)

Youtube is the quickest and easiest, but the quality is low, and doesnt do the show enough justice.

Seems that the earliest that Animated becomes available is about 7pm Sunday EST...

Not really, after you download one part, simply unplug your ADSL modem, wait about a minute, plug it back in, when it's ready to go, click the next link for the next part to download and repeat etc. :D

Oh yeah.. there's that too! :P

and by the way, it's the same as switching off the modem!

some people would literally "unplug" the modem

This simply resets your internet connection with your provider and updates you with a new IP (unless of course you have a static one, which means you are stuck until the rapidshare tells you otherwise)

S01E04 has been uploaded now. Would've been sooner but it was a bit more difficult to get than the other one.

I'm going to the Post Office on Friday to send/recieve a bunch of stuff. If anyone wants a disc of the first 3 combined eps PM me with your address. Given that these are not out on DVD as of yet and are yet to be broadcast here (so we can record them anyway) I don't think it's a breach of copywrite.

 actually it is -> http://www.wisegeek.com/is-it-legal-to-download-television-shows.htm but don't tell anyone :)

if you have read the article in the link above, it goes without saying that it is the very reason why the WGA has striked... similarly a place such as youtube trying to remove these uploads are like ebay removing KOs.

I guess however as long as it isn't for commercial gain, then distribute freely away ;) Tiby?

EDIT again... this was post #2000 for me :) (had to worked backwards to find it)

Copywrite is ambiguous to say the least, although I stopped following it a few years ago when it became increasingly clear that there is no way of stopping it (downloading). That bit about recording from the liscienced source is enlightening tho - I hadn't heard that one before.

I didn't get any takers anyway :P

Personally, I think this is a bad idea for the board.

Just point people to ht*p://mininova.org/ and a Wikipedia article on Torrents. We're directly linking to infringing content. Linking to a Torrent tracker isn't nearly as incriminating.

No disrespect to you Adzma. I'm sure your efforts are appreciated.

I wouldn't even go that far as posting them... if curiosity kills the cat, members can always PM

I agree it isn't as incriminating... but IT can become an addiction :P (ie. download withdrawals)

The board staff agreed that it was not a good idea to post (promote) illegal activities here... but saying that, I don't see how posting links to Youtube is any worse than posting links to a news article at TFW2005, which is what I would otherwise be doing. Yes, it's illegal for that American fan to be putting them on Youtube, but until YT has them removed, they are there for anyone to see. I'm just saving you the five seconds it would have taken for you to find these yourselves by doing a youtube search.

New Youtube clips of TFs Animated.

I may remove these links within a few days or a week. Or the person on YT may remove them, because I think they removed the first three after a little while.
If I had received a reply from Hasbro AU (which I never did) as to when we will be getting the Animated series in Australia, I'd be more inclined to make you wait for the legitimately aired version, or you go find out the pirated links for yourselves.
Sigh... I guess I can go hassle Hasbro AGAIN for info... So much for their claim that they reply to everything...

The board staff are actually still in discussion over this issue, as it has been raised that youtube isn't necessarily any more legitimate just because it is more well known.
If Cybertron and Energon is anything to go by, Animated may not have a complete official release anyway, forcing fans to have to record it from TV or trade copies from others, like we used to do quite commonly a few years back.
We'll get back to you when a decision is made.

The ruling at this stage is that we will allow the occasional alternate 'pirated' source for the animated cartoon, until such time that we are told not to by an official source.
Youtube is considered a little more legit by having some form of regulation (must be pretty slow with the amount of time those cartoon files have been on there), but it is still just a source for this pirated material. The safest thing to cover yourselves though is to have people contact you for links, especially if someone has already posted an alternative source to youtube. I don't want a flood of alternative links to pirated material posted here.

All ill say is that it is easily accessible. Ive seen pretty much all of them and they were exceptionally easy to find. If you cant find them- look harder.
Its probably not a good thing to promote these- the last thing we want is Ozformers getting sued for some silly little piece of red tape.
