Just noticed a Starscream from the reveal the shield line without his head being painted black. There were at least 12 other Starscreams on the shelf with the black paint on his head. Just wondering if this is a common occurance or is the little $6 bot now worth like $6.25 :)

I believe it was a running change, like the 1st couple of batches were missing the paint and then they realised: "Oh crap!". :p
It has been discussed at length here somewhere, try in the Matrix Section here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=49) perhaps? :)

The unpainted head does make Starscream look like later G1 Starscreams though - i.e. Pretender Starscream (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/4/43/PretenderStarscream_toy.jpg) & Action Master Starscream (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/3/3d/ActionmasterStarscream_toy.jpg). Also technically the original G1 Starscream (http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/images/screamer.gif)'s head was a combination of pale-grey and black -- black face and brow, and everything else was pale-grey... I think that's what designers were trying to evoke with the colours on Pretender and AM Starscream's head -- the probably decided to colour the brow gray too cos it'd look better as an overall "helmet" design.
