Okay, so apart from Rodimus, Thunderwing and Warpath, what moulds are the other ones? :D Optimus Primal? Heck yes. Can't wait for the decos on these.
Also I'm guessing "Wing Charger" is actually Windcharger. :p

WindCharger and Wipeout are instant buy. Awesome mould!
Surfboard Primal also, I've been wanting one of those boards for a while :D

Some of these are pretty sweet, some are severe disappointments (BIS Roddy + Unicron)...

It's good that the line is continuing though :D

UN-28 Axalon
Release Date: Feb 2012
Retail Price: 2800Yen
...do I dare get my hopes up?

Also I'm guessing "Wing Charger" is actually Windcharger. :p
Yeah, I'd say it's a transliteration error... Windcharger's G1 Japanese name was "Charger" -- but then again, United uses their Anglophone names rather than their JP names (e.g. Optimus Prime isn't called Convoy, Jazz isn't called Meister etc.) Odd that they've listed "Rodimus Convoy" instead of Rodimus Prime. Another error?

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing.

Wipe Out? Meh... okay, I can see they're trying to be original and make a new character, but I personally would've preferred a white/green repaint (and retool) as Tailgate.

Wtf rodimus? I hope that is a placeholder pic...but the description said rodimus convoy, which is basically rodimus prime right??? Has to be a new mold. Kinda stupid to restock on henkei, then release the same mould in united.

I agree looks very disappointing. I dont mind the shark moldthough, since i dont have it yet. That unicorn, primal, and beast wars megs molds are old right?

I suspected this was the case. Ugly repaints.

It seems that Takara-Tomy has begun to like their useless repaints as much as Hasbro although I believe the 'Cybertron' BW molds to be new for the Japanese market.

Yeah they are about 6 years old and not that great. Their original 10 year older (now 16!) BW figures are superior toys.

Primal is really horrible but Megatron is an 'ok' toy.

...I guess we still have 3rd parties to hold our interest..

Hmm.. have to say i'm slightly disappointed.. was looking forward to primal and megs.. but those moulds look bleh.

I will most likely pick up the warpath/windcharger and maybe thunderwing pending their final decos.

I don't mind the black deco, it's nice. Wipe out! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wipeout_%28video_game%29) But I agree, I'd still like to see a Tailgate out of this mould in the future.

Whatever happened to Hubcap's Big Daddy repaint?

Well for army builders like me that reissuance of Unicron tank is awesome news, now I can have more siege tanks to bolster my Unicronian army :D.

Windcharger and Wipeout , ok Ill bite - I, like everyone else, want to see Tailgate...:(

Already got them Primal and Megs when first released, so Im not too keen.

Where's the pic for Axalon? What's that figure supposed to be?

Hmmm sharkticons ei... didnt these molds get used in the last Botcon... ah well it's a nice figure but wouldve prefered an original mold for the modern day sharkticons and not a re-use:rolleyes:

My source said they were coming, (as I have mentioned before) but totally unsure why they decided to do a few BW/Cybertron modes. Very odd choice.

They could have kept selling thousands of toys if they kept with the classics line
- Windcharger (where is tailgate?)
- Warpath
- Thunderwing
- Rodimus (they should have just reissued Henkei rodimus in united packaging)

What they did miss out strangely
- Junkheap/Blackshadow
- Ultra Magnus

Overall disappointed by this series, but having said that, I'm a completists, so will probably buy a set just to store.

The Sharkticon is the one being called Axalon... But I think they meant "Nemesis" instead. I think the inspiration comes from the Exodus/Exiles story with the origin of the Nemesis vessel being from a particular Transformer. Maybe the United bio will say that this is that same WFC character???

Aside from Rodimus, these are all molds that Japan never got when they were released for the American market. So, Japan is just playing catchup.

I guess they are just Uniting the toys into one big pot ...

I always thought there actually was a Wipe-Out toy that came with Trypticon (like Scamper came with Metroplex). Marvel Comics lied to me.

Don't think I want to pay the United Rumble/Frenzy price for that two pack though.

it's odd that they would do Thunderwing and not Black Shadow considering that G1 Thunderwing never came out in Japan and thus never appeared in any Japanese G1 media... Black Shadow would have wider appeal

meh, united needs to be something very special to make it worth the import cost.
I have only ever purchased united jazz and tracks.

None of this looks particularly great, warpath doesn't even seem to have the BL44M text that our release had.

Seibertron.com:

Malaysian toy shop Famitoy has posted the upcoming pre-orders for the next wave of Takara version of Transformers United figures.
This new wave consists of 9 figures (UN-23 to UN-31).

The figures are expected to be released in January & February 2012.

Update: Courtesy of site sponsor Kapow Toys we now have mock ups, check them out below.

Personally, I'll take these with a grain of salt until I see something from HasTakTom. ;)

I always thought there actually was a Wipe-Out toy that came with Trypticon (like Scamper came with Metroplex). Marvel Comics lied to me.

I'd expect that Wipe-Out was meant to be the Full-Tilt toy, but for some reason the writer & artist renamed & redrew Trypticon's transforming partner into something that ended up resembling a black Tailgate (which is the inspiration of this United toy).
The TFWiki mentions (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wipe-Out) that Hasbro had given Marvel samples of toys, and the Artist used the details on Tailgate as inspiration... perhaps because they didn't have the Trypticon toy to know exactly what Full-Tilt (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Full-Tilt) looked like, and maybe only had the character model of Trypticon and not Full-Tilt.
Unless Bob Budiansky remembers why the name was changed (he would have named both Wipe-Out & Full-Tilt), we might not know the reason for this.

I personally just believe it is the same character, with different names & appearances (like Gen1 Jetfire/Skyfire - no one questions that he's the same character, but looks radically different & has 2 different names).

Paulbot
12th October 2011, 02:02 PM
I thought that Full-Tilt was the Slammer equivalent, and Wipe-Out had just been left out of the catalogues. :o It's been 25 years, maybe it's time I finally buy a Trypticon. (Takara Encore it already!)

(But it's good to see Takara seems to be looking for an actual character to homage rather than just making a Nemesis Windcharger.)

I think most of us realize they are mock ups. The disapointment comes with the poor choice of molds for the 'non-classics' figures.

For example, the 10th anniversary BW/Cybertron molds chosen are average to ok at best for example. For those wanting 'United' versions of Warpath and Windcharger (and pal) then that's pretty good.

Wow! All the repaints are all really lame or don't have any noticeable changes to the Hasbro release.

I see what they tried to do with Axalon - The shape of the alt mode does somewhat look like the Axalon ship from Beast Wars but it's a bit forced.

No problems Yoshi; to my understanding, as I don't own the figure myself, that weapon that Primal is holding is actually the Surf/Hover-board (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Optimus_Primal/toys#Beast_Wars_10th_Anniversary) he comes with but one can certainly see the resemblance to that of a Mechtech weapon. :p

Admittedly I too am a little disappointed with these upcoming releases but as it was explained on the recent WTF@TFW Podcast (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/wtf-tfw-transformers-podcast/478245-wtf-tfw-169-october-12-2011-a.html), but was likely known to many here already, is that all of these figures comprising the latest upcoming United wave have never seen a Japanese release before and as such it is seen as a perfect opportunity for a Japanese Line to deliver figures to a Japanese Audience that have never had an opportunity to own these figures before.

Rodimus deco actually looks really nice, but undecided whether to get another of the same mould i have 1000000 of...

Is warpath the same colour as the Generations one? I cant really tell, and apart from that there is not much difference- but Ill probably get one just to have it.

Windcharger is not changed at all from what I can tell, besides faction symbol- but ill probably just get one and leave it misb.

The rest don't really do much for me, so will probably pass on them.

hmm, bbts jacked up the prices on the beast megs and primal (was $37, now $50) because the initial price solicit from takara was wrong apparently, but the whole wave is 2240 yen each from hlj. Amiami has a price difference though.

I hope that dark purple is the final deco on beast megs, it looks great! :D
