This figure was meant to be part of Wave 1, which was scheduled for a March release, but seems to be now part of Wave 0 (First Edition).
The First Edition Wave was only supposed to have Bumblebee, Arcee & Starscream. I'll have to see if any other figures have been brought forward.
The pics have been posted up on a HK fan Facebook page, and mirrored at Seibertron (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-prime-deluxe-cliffjumper-inhand-images/23115/).
(I like the car mode with this one, as it seems to be the most realistic earth vehicle so far in the first few waves of Prime toys)

The fact that this is the first Cliffjumper toy released in a line with a Bumblebee that isn't a repaint/retool of Bumblebee makes him totally awesome to me. :D

Completely agree, added the fact that this figure will also come out Zombified = Sweet! :D:cool:
(Interesting that it was brought forward in it's release though?)

Very nice. The vehicle mode has a Classics/Universe feel - which kinda fills the gap left by that line's Cliffjumper being a red Bumblebee. Maybe a good candidate for a headswap with the aftermarket head (:

Oh man, I read that this wave was going to be a limited release. I hope I find one... I want this mould most out of the whole TFP line.

When are these out here?

It isn't confirmed if we are getting the limited edition "first edition" (wave 0) figures at all, but we are getting our first Prime toys in March, which may just be wave 1... Since Bumblebee (and possibly Cliffjumper) is in both Wave 0 and 1, the other Wave 0 figures are likely to be re-released in the general release waves later.
Email Hasbro Australia for more details, because they don't seem to be answering my queries anymore.

This may have been noticed by others already, but I only just did yesterday...
As bizarre as it this sounds, but it looks like the Cliffjumper being released in Wave 1 is a totally new mould. For a character that is only in a couple
episodes, we have a Legion toy and two Deluxe toys... but the question is, why have two different Deluxe toys, when one would do (for a
non-maincast character).
So this is the Wave 0 "First Edition" Cliffjumper
(note the chest isn't split, and the wheels are on the lower arms)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/tftoys/prime08.jpg
Then we have the Wave 1 Cliffjumper, shown at NYCC as being released in March
(note the split chest, and wheels on the shoulders)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/tftoys/prime08a.jpg
Finally, in wave 2 or 3 we have the Zombie/Terrorcon Cliffjumber, which uses the "First Edition" mould.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/tftoys/prime23.jpg
I know it isn't unusual for Hasbro to release multiple moulds of the one character in successive waves (just look at Bumblebee in Dlx & Legion
class for DotM), but this just seems like a waste of resources (and a toy-scalper's dream). They could have given us a whole new
character/mould in Wave 1 instead of a second Cliffjumper mould.
And if the limited edition "First Edition" Cliffjumper won't be released later in a non-Zombie deco (because Hasbro has the 2nd mould for the full line), it
will make the "First Edition" version a rare & expensive figure to chase up.
Although, I just noticed that the tfwiki claims (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Cliffjumper_%28Prime%29) that both decos of the first mould (regular and zombie) are part of the "First Edition" release, so maybe
that mould is not being released in the full line at all.

+1 to that. Poor cliffy has had a raw deal the past few years.

I'd have to say I'm not keen on this mechtech style weapon gimmicks they put on their toys thought. I'd rather no hole for weapons and have a nice clean alt mode.

Meh, I'm happy to just get the "regular" Cliffjumper Deluxe toy and pick up the "Terrorcon" repaint of the First Edition mould.

Most MechTech holes use retractable pegs that fill up the holes, which I think is pretty neat. No gaping holes plus the play value of mounting weapons on the vehicle. :)

The feet are different too, but maybe the NYCC pic is an earlier prototype photo? That seems more likely doesn't it? Did we see that pic at BotCon too? I'd trust the later with packaging photo over early presentation photos.

It's been confirmed that they are two separate toys.
I'm more interested in the first edition than the regular deluxe.

So one Cliffjumper has a weapon and the other doesn't?
griffin
15th November 2011, 12:29 PM
It looks like the Wave 0 & Zombie mould doesn't have a weapon... while the regular release version has an oversized (almost Mechtech styled) weapon. Not sure if a club he coulda picked up from the side of the road counts as much of a weapon though. Running at the Decepticons, who are armed to the teeth with laser weapons... it's no wonder Cliffjumper is... uh, never mind.
(wouldn't the fact that there is a Zombie version be considered a spoiler by Hasbro?)

The first edition/zombie Cliffjumper's hands turn into three barrelled cannons.

The toy is coming out more than 12 months after those episodes aired...

so why couldn't they make this the 'one' toy?
