There aren't any actual product pics yet, but it has been announced (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takara-first-edition-transformers-prime-figures-will-feature-alternative-decos/23109/) that the release of the TFPrime toys in Japan will have some different decos/detailing.
Since the Hasbro toys are fairly close to the cartoon colours, maybe the JP versions will be done in a similar fashion to how they did their Animated toys - with shiny decos.

I want to know what these decos are..
I do want to get the Vehicon quicker than Hasbro's release though.

As I had guessed, according to Etoysjapan online store (http://www.etoysjapan.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=1985&category_id=218&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1), these should have a metallic deco like the Animated toys. Release date is December 28th (in Japan).
So most of the world will have these toys for three months before they appear here... and by that time, most of us here on this board would have been too impatient and just imported them.

I'd like to see some pics :o, I've not bought any TF: Prime figures yet and it's bloody hard trying to resist doing so; If the Takara ones end up being the better looking figure, then I'll go with them because they'll still be out WAY before Australia ever sees the Hasbro figures on a shelf, plus they'll still be cheaper.:p

PICS! (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/figure-o-no-166-scans-takara-transformers-prime-images/23267/)
ooohhh that Prime looks sooo good.
edit: It only really show Prime, Bulkhead and Bumblebee, the last of which just looks like the Hasbro version. :/

Cheers Tiny, that Bulky and Prime do indeed look awesome! :D
Bumblebee does look quite similar but something looks different about it though... Can't quite put my finger on what though.

they have a darker grey plastic (its a lot more noticeable on Optimus as his legs are more darker like black. the hasbro version has blue legs.) so they look more more like they came from the war hardened War for Cybertron rather than the Earthen human loving pansies of TF Prime...

who is the between Bumblebee and Cliffjumper? is that supposed to be Wheeljack(Drift)?

Is it just me, or does Bulkhead look kind of blackish there?
I would have gone for more of a 'light' photo to show off a metallic deco myself. And where is Arcee?:(

from the photos, they're all darker but i really can't see the metallic paint they're supposed to have...
and looking closer, i think that is arcee between bee and cliffjumper - she's just really, really dark... so i mistook her for a dude.

I'm definitely liking Prime and Bulkhead, but does anyone see any differences on Bumblebee besides having a slightly lighter grey plastic on his arms and face?

So... it says 8 figures in wave 1...
If that is the case, and there are 5 Autobots, I assume the remaining 3 are the Decepticons.
So, Megatron, Starscream and...?

As posted on seibertron.com: Takara website update with clearer pics (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takaratomy-website-updated-with-transformers-prime-entries/23285/).
Looks like they're just using the Hasbro Arcee and Cliffjumper promo pics as placeholders.

The Vehicon drone looks a little better. More show accurate at least. I'd love to troop build a few of them if they weren't priced so much higher...

They do look to be a bloody awesome figure huh? :D
It's the 1st figure I've actually given proper consideration to troop building myself ;); I had thought about doing it with Classicsverse Scourge but I've just not managed to convince myself yet.:p

I'm thinking mebbe I'll shell out for one Japanese deco and troop build a few of the cheaper local ones if I really like the figure.

Couldn't agree more. You gonna have any extras to sell? ;)

Yeah, actually I was thinking that alt mode looks a lot like the universe legends Rodimus.

And then you can make the JP one the unit commander! At least that's what I plan on doing.:p

I found some new listings on HLJ that I (think!) might be TF Prime. Since Hasbro released some "first editions" I think these items might be the Takara version. Strangely though, there's no Arcee and a new character Beacon that is a Decepticon

Beacon would fit with the Japanese pronunciation. Goki'd be the expert.
