This to me fails. If any of the figures needed a new head to make the character, it was this one. Just repainting the head does not make the character, I don't see Octopunch in this at all.

When the list leaked, it sounded exciting but as more is revealed, disappointment ensues at the lackluster executions.

I guess he can work as Shattered Glass which is the intention (looks to have Quickswitch colors) but to me, it's 'meh'.

And it's SG as well...? If they were going to do it as SG why not just make it SG Seaspray? For some reason I think of Octopunch as yellow (misremembering Primal Scream I guess) so this doesn't match my (misguided?) expectations.

The fact that they've made him SG is the main deal breaker for me. I'd go on to say the head mold is far too friendly for a Decepticon but that doesn't apply anymore does it, he's a "Heroic Decepticon". :rolleyes:

Edit: Just noticed the two rubber duckies having a stare-off on Octopunch's chest, LOL! "One shall paddle, one shall quack"

The white parts should really be green. Being white makes me think of Seaspray which ain't right.

Wow, I had to lean far away from the screen to see those at all, it took me a solid minute not to see tentacles.

That's a really nice touch.

the lack of a diving bell head is a bit disappointing but at the same time it still looks like a helmet and breathing apparatus (can't see the actual face) so it's a pretty good hoage. it's probably better that the spend the remold budget on something else for the difference it would have made. and a diving bell head would have probably looked disproportianately small.

By going just by the list of characters, this had the potential to be one of the best Botcon sets ever.

Interesting, I don't have much knowledge of any of this years characters and as the set has been revealed it's gradually grown on me.
Just wish I was going to the actual convention.

Looking at newer pictures (http://www.fullmetalhero.com/content/review-shattered-glass-octopunch-2661/) shows me that those parts aren't white at all! They are minty green like they should be. So I think it's a good looking toy and I want one.

I'll admit that in the pictures there, it looks much better. However I still have my reservations at the lack of head remold.
