The next chapter of the IDW universe begins this week, with the release of the first of two new Transformers ongoing comic books - titled "More than Meets the Eye".
A 7 page preview can be seen here (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/idws-transformers-more-than-meets-the-eye-1-seven-page-preview/23634/), and check out your comic shops for the full issue later this week.

So good.
Interestingly, "Liars, A to D" was also the title of James Roberts' comic prologue to Eugenesis from a decade ago. One can read it online here: http://www.transforce.org.uk/strips.htm
Rigor morphis. Ha!

This seems promising. I hope that I can get into IDW comics again.

I have to admit that it didn't really grab me.
And the art is, interesting.

I'm assuming this artwork is inspired by Transformers Prime? Just like the start of the ongoing was inspired by the movie?

The Artwork is less than interesting, It won't encourage me to buy it looking like that but at least the storyline is looking promising.

I've decided, with much consideration, not to buy these comics in paper format, but instead to get them from IDW's Comixology app. So far the price is equal to the comic stores, (and gets cheaper if you're patient) plus I can get a further discount by buying iTunes cards on sale. I buy the collected versions as well anyway, so this will save me money and save me space.

Yes, there have been sketches of possible spoilers? Trailbreaker and Siren where the artist explicity said they were going for a Prime or WFC look and feel.
This though isn't what I expected, but I like it. It feels a bit more like Animated to me (which isn't a bad thing). The story is off to a great start here.

I like the art :D:D... It's like going in the direction indeed of TFPrime mixed a bit with Powerpuff/Ben 10.... I like how IDW has taken the story of Tfs in a totally new direction. It's not the geewun we know and are familiar about, finally Megs and Prime are out of the picture so other characters ( and there's a whole slew of em) can shine and new characters can be explored.. so much potential:D

So the Transformers have gone from scary movie like designs to emaciated Prime style designs? Colour me uninterested! While maybe they might do a better job on the story this time, not sure it's worth the wait, or another comic who's art I don't dig.:(

Maybe you'll like Andrew Griffith's art on Robots in Disguise #1 more? There should be a preview of that in a week or so.

Erm... is that Sideswipe? Can't tell, new art needs more identifiers (physical ones) .. but it's fun trying to identify whos who in the new art... at least it's not scary lookin :p

It would be Sideswipe. Those are his feet.
I liked my Swerve toy as a kid and am happy to see him have more appearances and lines in the last few months than all his other appearances in the last 25 years.

Those are his feet, but they are also the feet of another Transformer. (It's Red Alert.)
I love the way Swerve and Bumblebee only have eight digits on their hands.

There's also a 'scavenger hunt' for More Than Meets The Eye promos around the internet. I think there should be twelve in total. Here are the ones I have so far:

Ah of course the red head would be the give away. The amount of red on his arms and heels was misleading.
Where did this picture come from anyway?
And how come our board wasn't one of the 12 given a promo picture for the new series? Hello. We're over here. Hello?

Thanks. And there's a very clear view of Red Alert on Cover E. I would have thought Sideswipe would be a fit for this group too, but including Red Alert is worth it for the one line joke shown in the tformers review.
It's all a very promising start.

Indeed. And I think Brainstorm might have a WOMD in his suitcase (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Malevolent_Counterintuitive_Pathogen) too. So cool.

And how come our board wasn't one of the 12 given a promo picture for the new series? Hello. We're over here. Hello? Yeah... we've been around longer than all those other sites/communities. But we aren't a global site, so wouldn't even be on IDW's radar. And if they did even know we exist, they mustn't see us as big significant enough to waste/invest the effort on.
(after all, we don't have a huge number of their comic customers here)

I may do the same and buy digital copies to read on the train. So far I have liked what I have seen from this comic.
Does Comixology have the issues available on release date?

Yes they are "day and date (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/12/14/idw-go-dayanddate-digital-at-full-retail-price/)" but that might be based on US clocks.

$4.49 (AUD) at the moment for a digital copy, which is based on the US $3.99 cover price. Wait a month and the issue is likely to be $1.99 (has been the case for recent issues on the app).

I'm a fan f Roche's art style and I enjoy actually being able to tell who is who now. Sadly I dont think Roche is locked in for long, so we may have even more art/design changes ahead.
I'm wondering if Kup or some Cons are in Prowl's "gift"...
Looks like another character driven series like lsotw, with a good varied cast. Cant wait to check it out.

And the first issue is out! (http://www.comixology.com/Transformers-More-Than-Meets-the-Eye-Ongoing-1/digital-comic/18738)
The ultimate Transformers saga begins here! This second all-new ongoing Transformers title reunites the fan-favorite creative team behind Last Stand of the Wreckers and sends the Transformers on an epic quest to the farthest reaches of the Transformers Universe and beyond!
Absolutely loved it. There's some really great moments peppered throughout the first issue (the Ultra Magnus GUI scene was GENIUS) . It's brutal at times, funny and for me, perfectly retains that sinister, creepy tone from Wreckers. A must read!!

Is there a better way to pay that isn't creditcard? Like Paypal?
I don't want to be dumped with a credit card fee just for $3.99. Paypal would be preferable.

Dunno sorry. I have the smartphone app (I think there's one for each OS) and pay by iTunes credit on that.

I have Android and although I read somewhere that if you by through the App you get Paypal, I have been unable to see the option.
