Custom Kabaya Star Saber Victory Leo box

Hey guys :)

Wanted to share a new box i made the other day. I was asked by a collector if it would be possible to make a box for the little Kabaya figures of Star Saber and Victory Leo and this is what i came up with.

I tried to make the box look the same as the real deal as much as possible. I re drew all the japanese text and everything because i couldnt find anything usable online. The toy pics are pictures of the Kabayas so they fit with with what goes inside. The back is the only part im not feeling too much so im most likely going to redo that completely.

One thing about it though is i think its WAY to big for the Kabaya kits lol. I don't own the toys so i wasnt able to work out the measurements to fit . I did just buy them though and should have them in the mail soon so i will be able to resize everything .. Trial and error right ? lol

This box would fit the Robot Masters version of Saber and Leo i think. If a foam insert was made i do think the RM toys could fit in the box perfectly. Have a look at the pics and tell me what ya think :) . One pic will have the Kabaya ultra magnus in it to show whyi think the box is way to big for the kabayas lol and there are pics with the Robot Masters toys :)

Ok the pics below are of the updated and resized Kabaya Star Saber box. I changed a few little things on the box like adding new pics of star sabers ship mode on the front and sides as well as a combined saber and leo ship mode on the back and sides of the box. I also added some stars and such to the space image background on the back which makes it look a whole lot better then my first one i think. I left the original pics above so you can compare them to the new ones below :)

The box looks spectacular dude, the art work and photos are spot on IMO and the efforts you've gone to in order to reproduce the Japanese text really does speak volumes of your attention to detail in your projects. :cool:

I do agree though... there is something about the back panel that doesn't seem to be right huh? - Is the background a little low onRes perhaps?, maybe if the 'blue-to-black' fade was a little more in the black's favour?
I'm sure you'll know find it man and will turn around something great though. ;):)

Hehe, well for guess work I think you've done rather well but then I don't own the relevant figures either. :p
At least the majority of the layout is done and as you say it should simply be a case of resizing where necessary, so indeed trial & error :p, but it'll be interesting to see just how far off or not you are. :)

Hmm, I'm not too sure how big the Robot Masters figures are either but clearly there is a number of pieces involved with both figures and the box does seem quite suited to them so maybe you could keep this prototype for yourself and whack your Robot Masters Saber & Leo in it for display or demonstration? :D

Amazing Primul, the stars are exactly what the back needed and the other tweaks really help to further this already stunning efforts - Excellent job dude! :eek::cool:

Thanks :) The back i was having a hard time with geting it to feel right , i think i tried like 8 backgrounds and none worked so i started taking parts of the backgrounds and combining them and then took some nova looking stars from a G1 battle scene and added those and everything came together and seem to fit perfect.. The box should be able to fit a nice size foam tray cut to fit the figures seperatly or i think its big enough to fit him in combined mode too.. Im going to throw one up on ebay and see how it does. Hopefully its something people wanted for there Kabayas.

Im also working on some cool boxes for someone. They are a Shattered glass WST Prime box, Shattered glass WST White Soundwave box and WST Astrotrain box.. Well they are pretty much finished , im just waiting for the toys to come in the mail so i can take the transformation pics for the tops of the boxes and sides. And i have to see if a friend of mine can re write soundwaves bio card to make him sound like a good guy lol..

Well, 8 backgrounds sure is a lot but it paid off in the end man and I really like the fact that it came to going back to another piece of Transformers Boxart to finish it - I think that's better than having to create from scratch as is it seems... more complete, if that makes sense. :o;)

It'd be very cool to see the entire package, foam + figures, put together so you'll have to let us know both how the auction goes and if/whether the customer ends up producing said foam tray/s. ;):)

Your work truly is amazing Primul, I really dig those shattered glass boxes and the WST Astrotrain box looks spot on - really awesome additions to such a collection IMO. :cool:
