Oh man I really want that figure. Hope we get him out here sometime soon.

He is an ok figure apart from the Hasbro grey which clashes with the painted metallic silver head. My Soundwaves arm kept falling off as I was trying to transform it. Its also too small a figure.

Never had any problem with the arms on my Soundwave falling off. Get an exchange?

Its also too small a figure.
Is it "too small like the other DOTM deluxes", or is it "too small compared to the other DOTM deluxes"?
I think this might be the last DOTM toy I buy, but only if I can find it at a good price (eg Australian retail or matched online). I really dislike the legs on the HA version.

Its "too small like the other DOTM deluxes". Although I did put it up against the ROTF deluxe Soundwave and they are fairly on par in height.

Opened and transformed him today. It is a nice figure, but I found the shoulder kibble and backpack hinder his range of movement.
I also gave up on following the instructions for the shoulder arrangement (which could explain the restricted movement....)

The shoulders are a bit tricky at first, but you'll get there. :)
These pics might help:

If not, have you tried looking at a toy review video where they transform the toy? That can sometimes help with tricky transformations. :)

From the instructions, it looks like this still has the potential to be rereleased as Blaster: http://twitpic.com/8nudop/full

That's exactly who I saw when looking at that pic; drop the Mercedes logo and whack it in TF: Prime/Generations you reckon?

Would they need to drop the Merc logo? Hasbro's already acquired the licence to use that vehicle licence for the base mould so they wouldn't need to worry about it again for repaints/retools would they? (otherwise could you imagine the number of times they'd have to acquire additional licences from GM and Freightliner for all their movieverse Bumblebee and Optimus Prime mould reuses!)

I would imagine so but it all really depends on the terms of the contract, in that if it was stipulated that the car was only ever to be used as 1 character with the name Soundwave then yeah; they'd have to drop it. ;)
I think you're probably right though, the contract would likely be broader than that. :)
