Fingers crossed TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls or one of the other clearance stores somehow gets. Or Australia .. or somewhere.

This makes no sense to me and is going to pi$$ off a lot of fans who have to shell out more cash on eBay so they can get the better range of toys from the show.

Well, my money will definitely spent on the smaller and cheaper cyberverse figures. Unimpressed by the mainline figures especially that BB, yikes! D:

That is so true... Any time they miss out on something that appears somewhere else, there are obscenities about Hasbro posted everywhere. Maybe they should walk a mile in our shoes, and just work with the situation, if they really feel that they "need those toys to survive".
I'm just surprised that most of the FE moulds are different to the regular line, because if they don't end up seeing a re-release or redeco in the regular line, they wouldn't have made their money back off those particular moulds.

This, makes me think they'll use them later down the track perhaps. or there are warehouses full of them waiting to be shipped to big W's everywhere:eek:

From what I've heard, the Deluxes were initially slated for release in Generations. You may remember the Walmart or Target Generations listings from way back for "Arcee" that got people really excited and hopeful for a classics style G1 Arcee.

At the time, Hasbro wasn't sure Prime was going to have a full toyline, as they were interested in presenting Prime as fiction standing on its own feet, rather than a series of 21 minute toy commercials (part of the reason why Prime was on television for a year before any toys appeared on shelves.)

As for why Hasbro released these molds in such limited numbers and then immediately replaced them with entirely new molds (for the most part), I'm not sure of the suggestions that these First Edition molds are now simply too expensive at the current price point to be sold now. But obviously, the First Edition molds don't fit into the Prime: Robots in Disguise mainline's play pattern of exchangeable weapons.

FE Prime (voyager) - front wheels transform into shoulders which looks so damn good.
FE Bulkhead - unknown what the RID version is like

FE Bumblebee - no automorph feature, single weapon doesnt mount on hood. better proportions.
FE Arcee - different weapon.
FE Cliffjumper - no separate weapon.

FE Megatron (deluxe) - decent paint app.
FE Starmscream - unknown
FE Vehicon - different design, taller, bigger?

from what I've seen, pretty much all the FE are bigger and better than their RID counterparts.

So clue me in here...

Is it really known where to point the finger with the FE screw-up? My impression from what Hasbro has said in the past is that if a toy is carried by exclusively by a retailer it's because none of the others wanted it.

As far as we're concerned, there's nothing stopping Takara or Hasbro releasing reissues into Japan/Asia. Or here for that matter...

didn't hasbro state that the FE were just to entice people into the upcoming new lines?

as for the takara versions, there isn't a need to stop producing them as they're really popular - especially since most people overseas are importing them.

amiami, hlj and the like are all sold out of them and when they get new batches in they're sold out within the day...

This is such a non-issue. As if they won't reuse the moulds.

This is probably true, and I am hoping they will. As we all know, every now & then Hasbro tend to reuse a mould or two. :D
Still its very disappointing that the FE figures are being withheld from us. The main line don't seem quite as good, especially the Optimus figure. (What is that stupid gun thing all about?)
Suppose i'll be hearing from TFSource within the next couple of days....

Just got my emails from BBTS.com saying my preorder of wave 1.5 has been cancelled and so has my 2 voyagers. No mention of the FE entertainment pack I preordered though. So is that cancelled too?

Is there a link someone can post so I can see the RID moulds?

You blokes in Canada were the lucky ones for a change though, as with the Brits with the Mainline stuff - A nice change to see. ;):)
But, welcome to the AU market man: The land of the unappreciated and often rorted consumer. :p:(

It means "defrauding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rort)" or "cheating (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/rort)"... as in, we are often cheated of having good quality, affordable toys here.
(it appears that "rort" is just used in AUS & NZ)

So, just to make sure 'Psychic Odie's AU TF Hotline' is still possible, please confirm this.
Australia hasn't actually gotten any Prime figures at all yet, have they?

I could be mistaken but I'm sure I read that someone had spotted FE Prime and Bulkhead at a remote (aren't they all) Toyworld.

Hasbro decides to release FE figures in the US after all. (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/hasbro-statement-regarding-transformers-prime-first-edition-figures-174324/)
On the one hand, it's nice that more of these are coming out and more fans won't miss out. On the other hand, it would be the whiniest, most overprivileged area of fans who get them, while Oz still misses out entirely. Hasbro AU really sucks.
Perhaps that's our problem, we're just not whiny b*****s enough. If we complained like spoilt babies more maybe we'd get $8 Deluxes and not miss out on half of everything.

You're assuming that because it hasn't been mentioned, we're not getting them at all. I'd be surprised if we don't get these molds at all, they'll probably end up being in different packaging though. maybe even a year from now.

That just makes it even more bizarre that they would create and develop several toys that would only see a limited production that wouldn't come close to covering the cost of their 18 month process.

One toy (like the Aveo Swerve) or end-of-line windback of production is understandable, but to have 6-8 toys created with no intention of a full-scale global released... it seems like a lot of money lost on their part that they don't seem too fussed about if they don't utilise them.

And I was hating myself for being so impulsive to import them back in December, thinking that I should just wait for when they would be cheaper later with their US release... lucky now that I was impulsive, and just need the JP Vehicon to complete the set.

If they do produce these for collectors, they will likely be sold through the Hasbro store. If BotCon was later in the year, that would have been a good opportunity for them too.

Patience Grasshopper:D sorry couldn't resist.Eh, I'm fine: I'm living in Osaka so Takara's my plastic crack daddy these days. I've already got all of the few FE toys I want.

I hope you're right and you guys get them, Starscream in particular is amazing. It just irks me that while so far Oz hasn't got any, a bunch of Americans whine like babies over missing out on two or three and then within a week Hasbro USA caters to them while Australian stores are still filled with old DotM Skids and Mudflaps. I wouldn't mind so much if we Aussies didn't miss out on so many TFs as a matter of course, or if they weren't so stupidly expensive for us, or above all if so many of the US fans didn't seem to have such a massive sense of entitlement over it all, but as it is the whole picture is irritating.

I'm entirely with you on this; it may sound like we Aussies are acting like we're entitled to them too (Which'd be a bit of a stretch IMO) but at the end of the day I think we'd just like to be treated as equals to the rest of the world when it comes to consuming these goods.

Exactly. I don't ever remember complaining about any of the hundreds of Transformers we haven't received here and yet Americans throw tantrums every time they don't get a handful. It's the 21st fricking century - the whingers can just buy the stupid things on the internet. For Primus's' sake, suck it up, USA.

Nah that thing is butt ugly, sorry. If I couldn't get FE OP and BH I decided I wouldn't collect any of the TFPrime toys. Thankfully I managed to acquire them from an ebay seller just before he jacked up the price by double!

Anyway I cancelled that pre-order (for RID OP) but went through with the deluxe RIDs simply because I wanted Wheeljack and Soundwave.

I bought First Edition Optimus from ebay the instant I read the news about them not going to retail. I'm glad I did - I got a good deal a couple of weeks ago, compared to the prices now. Still not too late to get a bargain though.

Optimus is brilliant btw!
