Here's my recent review of the Playmates 1990 movie Ninja Turtles. I was actually pretty disappointed in these, especially compared to the previous cartoon versions. Hope you can check out the vid :)

So I was browsing my local TRU the other day when I stumbled across a whole bunch of Classics figures. After much thought, I pulled the trigger & bought the best one of each (cardback, paint apps etc.) as an investment. That's right - they'll be staying MOSC & in some 5-10 years time, We'll see if they're gonna make me any money.... :)

I have never visited this thread before but wanted to let people know that I saw the classic figures (1990 reissues) at Big W for $9 each the other day. I don't collect these so I'm not sure if this is a good price or has been mentioned before, just letting everyone know as I said :)

HA HA HA yes! I also had a hard time finding a Leo that wasn't pulling a derp face, or some 3 year old had painted half the head instead of just the mask around the eyes.

Which Big W was it? I am still desperate to get these figures. I missed out on them when they were for sale here in Adelaide. They sold out instantly when Big W had them on sale for $7.50 ea.

Does anyone know where there are some available?

If you're at all interested in the differences between the crappy 2013/14 reissues and the original figures, have a look at this post (http://instagram.com/p/vu81FOE1iY/) & others on my Instagram where I've gone into a reasonable amount of detail. ;):)

WOW, compared to the originals they really are lacking. Quite disappointing but i was lucky enough to get them when they were $7 at Big W.

$10 or under and I think I'd feel a little bit better about them, as I was only really after the belt & weapon, but upon having them in-hand I feel even more resolute that they're not worth anything more than $10.

Leonardo seems to be the rarest of the four turtles at TRU Aspley the times I've been there. Donatello is normally doing the shelf warming :)

sadly, the Krang and Shredder figures have been canned, which may not be good news for future releases

Aww what?!? Shredder and Krang were the ones in most need of justice! I really like what they did with Bebop and Rocksteady so this is really disappointing.

That's a shame. What a waste of a line then. I haven't followed any news on this, but was there any kind of official statement given for the cancellation? They really did mass produce those turtle figures, its a shame they didn't include some foot soldiers in the waves for army building. If they managed to do foot soldiers they could of done plenty of variants and even squeeze out some other minor characters. It seems they decided to entirely focus on the other lines because there were heaps of characters, and lots of turtle variants.

From Toys R Us Picked up a set of TMNT classics Movie turtles. The Classics turtles are on sale again, so it was a good time to buy. If you can find them I recommend them, although I won't be opening them up, because I have the Classic cartoon versions already opened.
