So good. How ridiculously rare and secondary-market expensive do we think these will be?

Can't see much demand for these... but I can see a fan frenzy if those two at the back were reissued as a 2 pack

My crystal ball predicts Generations 2013 wave 2 Nightbeat, with wave 5 Minerva repaint.

Looking at Hobby Link Japan, the previous figures have been about $110 which is waaaaaaaay more than I'd pay. I do want them though. :o

Don't get my hopes up a year in advance!

Are these actually licensed or are they unlicensed garage kits? (like say the BotCon Japan exclusive AI figure)

I'd heard that Wonderfest items are given temporary permission, or at least were at one stage. But seeing the Autobot symbol on there, at an official event that has TakaraTomy present, I'm thinking these might have some sort of authorised status?

They release actual Tomy exclusives there some years, and I remember those Wheelie Toys from years ago (I think that was from Wonder Festival)... it's all so confusing. Too many toys...

How good is the Nightbeat one! Argh, hopefully not too expensive and hopefully official too. Will keep an eye on these ones for sure. :)

They're licensed. By Cms corp. Who make horribly expensive doll figures. There was a bit of stuff running around last year about the prototype of this.

Here (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/cms-corp-minerva-guttu-kurru-figure-backpack-images-173521/)

And Cms blog post here (http://cmscorp.sakura.ne.jp/blog/2011/10/post-70.html)

Breifly talked about in the figma thread (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=269207&postcount=514)
It looks like the sign under Minerva blabbles on about the Nightbeat colour being a Wonderfest Summer special.

Can't see anything about the normal colour version. Nor Ginrai. Wouldn't surprise me to see a general release of these, although they usually go for about 8000 yen or so.

Ooo, More info from Here (http://cmscorp.sakura.ne.jp/blog/2012/02/post-86.html).

Yep, nightbeat colours are fro Wonderfest Summer. But Minerva and Ginrai will get general releases. The G1 nightbeats were borrowed from Tak tom for display. Normal Minerva will get a release along the same time as the Nightbeat colour version. So Summer 2012 for them (winter for us). No word on whether Ginrai is the same time as Minerva, but I ave a feeling it will be from what was read.

Ginrai groupies:

Looks like Ginrai will use a lot more plastic than Minerva if he stays that size - the prices on these will inevitably be over $100.

I'd say they are licensed limited run 'garage' kits. Takara-Tomy seems friendlier and more flexible in this regard than our local Hasbro. Hasbro Hong Kong is also friendlier apparently.

For me, they look nice but as LiegePrime said, they are too large and not really my thing.

Muzzle looks like he's undergone an interesting new transformation.
I don't think that's meant to be Muzzle. There was a variant of Minerva called "Minerva Nightbeat" - it was sold as a mail-away exclusive for 1800JPY and four Robot Points. While the toy is identical to Nightbeat, it was marketed as Minerva.
