Just saw this too, man I'm curious to see the rest of this as it's a gimmick I'm rather intrigued to see how a 3rd party would properly tackle; although I'm not expecting it to have the full locking mechanics behind it. ;)

I don't think this will be anything to do with Transformers and it's an original creation.

I see this as Hasbro's lawyers finally found the fansproject "shop" in Vancouver :)

Well done to FP, I hope their own custom line takes off because I am a big fan of their toys.

Yeah I hope it does well. They had this kicking around for over a year ago. It's been several months since we saw a grey prototype.

i have no idea what i'm looking at! it hurts my brain.
like many other speculators, i tend to think that maketoys is fansproject which will continue to build TF related toys while the fansproject will build entirely fictional universal characters.

although it seems FP use their FB page more often than their own page (which pisses me off as i refuse to use FB), the best slide show of images (this new "heartmaster" in particular) can be found at www.fansprojectcore.com, their official fan page.

Just bumping up this thread.

With pre-orders already up on their website (via http://www.fansprojectcore.com/product/wb-002-warbot-steel-core), and the cost of international shipping quoted at an insane almost as much as the figure (figure members pricing @$69.99 USD, international shipping for up to 3 figs @$49.99), does anybody plan on any group/bulk purchases?

Just noticed in that pic he seems to have a yawning gap behind his groin-hip area, He seems to have no bottom:eek: He also seems to have a pirates dream without his partner attached (A sunken chest). The figure doesn't seem Aesthetically pleasing almost to the point of looking a little odd because of the imbalance in areas.

He doesn't have a bottom, and from the back he does look a little like a beetle. There's also a gaping hole in his chest to allow light to pipe through...

Whilst it has it's flaws, I really like the direction FP are taking thus I want to support them. Steelcore, while not being the best FP have done, will still be good and no doubt their releases will improve with time.

Maybe a spring loaded chest that moves forward when the partner was removed might have helped with one item I mentioned, I don't consider it a bad figure but between the retail price that is being asked and what they have previously released I expected better.

Hopefully when it's released on online stores, the prices won't be anywhere near this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Transformers-Fansproject-Warbot-WB-002-Steel-Core-Exclusive-Figure-Mini-Con-/320949252926?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item4aba10f33e#ht_6485wt_1270) scalper's prices...

Whilst scalpers suck, that is only $40aud above the retail total including shipping.

I suppose I was expecting to see like $300 or something like that.

Well the auction's still got 36 hours, and it's already $150 before postage.

The height of Warbot Defender's scalps was at about $200 and that was long after it was sold out on all online sites. I paid $170 for it incl. postage, only a couple of months before the reissues came out. :( FP's more evolved in their understanding of market demands, so I'm sure they'll be producing to meet it.

You'll love Warbot Defender man, he's excellent for what equates to the 1st full 3rd party Transforming Robot Toy - Apparently FP are selling a small amount of cancelled orders at TFCon (Happening now) and what doesn't sell will move to their website, prior to the next wider release hitting! :D

Not that I have anything against the people that are hoping for a re-release of this, I would like to think that I get something a little extra for jumping on the preorder bandwagon for this other than an inflated shipping cost.

They stated on their website that this would be limited to only 800 units, and while this was in all likelyhood because they only made 800 in case it flopped and didn't sell, that's the only thing that made me bite, the fact that I might miss out.

But meh, like I said, I don't want anyone to miss out who wants it.

Picked up my SteelCore from the post office today. I was order number 352 and is was posted on the 17th, arrived on the 27th but I didn't get to pick it up until today. While it hasn't been that long since release, I think that FPC have handled the delivery situation poorly. The lack of communication is quite disappointing and the post they placed on their website while I believe was an attempt to explain the situation with a bit of light humour, all it succeeded in doing was give the impression that good customer service is not at the top of their priority list.

But on to my opinion, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, I have to agree with the general consensus and say this is an excellently designed and executed figure! He looks great and has so much posability it makes some modern HasTak TFs seem like G1 toys. He is really solid and transforms simply (compared to Defender) but well. Steel, (the little fella) is pretty cool and while less articulated then Sidearm, is still an impressive little figure.

The one issue I have, and this is a minor gripe more than anything else, is that the gun fits awfully snugly into his hand. A lot of massaging needs to be done to get it out.

And I am confident that their is going to be some sort of trailer. You can clearly see the hitch on the back of the alt mode, it is actually part of the gun, similar to RTS Prime, and as you are probably aware the trailer is in the comic. So can't wait for that! :)

Overall though well worth the money and the wait. So for those of you still waiting, it shouldn't be long now!!

The most impressive aspect I found about this fig over FP's last releases (FP Insecticons) was the ball joints on the figure. Very tough plastic with an interesting sandy texture to it. Perhaps to increase friction and prolong its play-life? A nice touch :)

Steel, (the little fella) is pretty cool and while less articulated then Sidearm, is still an impressive little figure.

Steel is one tough nugget. I definitely was using more force than normal for moving his legs joints. Probably about the same force needed to take apart two pieces of Lego?

The one issue I have, and this is a minor gripe more than anything else, is that the gun fits awfully snugly into his hand. A lot of massaging needs to be done to get it out.

I had the same thing with my fig. I think its standard because if you look into the hollow of the fist in the light, the hole is not a perfect cylinder on both fists - it inclines inwards towards the top of the fist. I guess they wanted to make sure the weapon was a good fit.

The comic was quite a tease, and considering that Steelcore is quite a lanky fellow, perhaps the trailer can do a City Commander/God Bomber parts-form transformation??? :o Do it FP! Send our imaginations to shame! :p

The English used by FPC made me suspect they were based in the US rather than Hong Kong, as Hong Kong style English is usually a little "odd" (not that I'm saying there aren't exceptions). :)

Update from FPC as can be seen here (http://www.fansprojectcore.com/news/2012/10/26/wb-002-trailer-development-and-re-release-of-wb-002-steel-core). If you missed out, preorders are going up for a limited second run of SteelCore on the 28th, which is tomorrow. It also features an update and a few CGI renders on the trailer. And while the trailer is a cool idea, I must say i'm disappointed that appears to just be a troop carrier. I expected armour upgrades and whatnot.

For the longest time now, there have been rumors of an accessory for the WB-002 Steel Core. Some may have even seen the prototype in person. Well, this thing is in development and we'd love to show some shots of the concepts and details that will go into the final product.

These of course are just the concept 3d images and details may change in production. We'll have more news on that as it comes and prototype shots as we get them.

Further to this news, I know that the bigger thing on everyone's mind has been "when will we see another release of the WB-002 Steel Core himself?". Well, we have been confirming numbers with FP and it seems like we will have another limited run of these available to the FPC community. Pre-orders are estimated to go up this Sunday October, 28th, 2012.

We are still working out details with FP on pricing, so please check back with us often over this weekend for more details. We appreciate everyone's patience in bringing these back, this was a big risk for FP as a manufacturer and FPC has had to do a lot of convincing just to be able to cover the first run. Having a second round is phenomenal for us and a true sign of appreciation from FP for the success of the first release. Of course, FP has been also been gracious enough to work with us on the trailer for this piece to complete the vision of the designers. As you can imagine, we are so happy that things have worked out the way they have.

We really thank FP for believing in FPC and the patience of the fan base in this community as we grow. We'd also like to thank all of our volunteers and people behind the scenes that have worked out bugs in the site, helped to fill our resource fall backs in customer service and fulfilment and the visionaries that helped consult on the overall direction of this idea.

Not only did this help with the launch of this web site and it's features for nominal costs, it allowed us to have a ground breaking product like Steel Core come to fruition. From the features of the site being fully customized and launched in a matter of a few months, to the 3 month promo and market turn around release of Steel Core (the very first product teasers on FPC in May, 2012 to shipping out the last unit in August, 2012). This has been a testiment to the efforts of everyone involved. Thanks again!

Both FP and FPC look forward to the future as FPC starts to realize the potential of sustainability with this project and hope to one day not rely only on the good graces of our help, but to be able to afford our own resources and run our own budgets that will develop much more than just retail products - which is the biggest vision of this group. We realize that retail is a quick way to help develop our budgets for this community, but don't want our emphasis to be taken away from the bigger picture that founded this community.

Even after all of this whirlwind of releases, what actually really surprised us was the outstanding amount of emails from new and old fans that did not even know of such releases or about the purpose of the fan site itself. As we grow, we hope to have in place more experts on our team that will help spread the word about FPC and gain more reach to other regions and facets online and even in the real world through events and shows.

We will have more news on the other side of things like site features, stories and overall direction of the member factions soon. And of course photos and developments in the WB-002 Trailer.

Watch for details on the Steel Core re-release and a big thanks to all the fans again!

I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get an armour upgrade too - Steel has so much potential given his lankiness, tons of creative areas for parts-forming, and super-strong joints to support more plastic. Then again, just because they're making a trailer now, doesn't mean they can't bring out a parts-forming upgrade later right? FP has never confined themselves to just one upgrade set :p

Speaking of the trailer, what's the use of one Steel with multiple Powermasters? Maybe those other guys featured are just place holders - how awesome would it be for the trailer to contain a Targetmaster, a Shieldmaster(?), and a Melee-weapon-master?:cool:

I'd like to support their cause, but there are just far too many other awesome offerings in the coming months. I get the feeling that the exclusive items may just be repainted Sidearms or Corer's.

I do appreciate their very honest ad-copy:

Please note: unfortunately, the trailer will not transform into a crazy cyber badger or become industructible armour.

Unfortately a crazy cyber badger and/or indestructible armour was exactly what I want :(

Yeah I kinda assumed that the extra exclusives for the premium membership would just be little repainted Core figures (or similar).
