any first impressions?

Skyquake dreadwing is awesome straight out of the pack. Robot mode is very poseable and just looks amazing. Seeker mode is just as impressive with minimal kibble for a scout commander. Only one drawback is legs can pop off during transformation due to the upper thigh swivel so close to the ball joint. First impressions 9.5/10. Hopes for a skyquake repaint. Haven't opened ironhide yet

Will post pics and more detailed review this Arvo after work

Oh and arms tuck in more in alt mode. Package is unsurprisingly mistransformed

DEFINATELY, considering how overall crappy Screamer is.... Seriously WTF is Screamers plane mode... Robot mode is great though, but he just looks like he's in a whole different league to Dreadwing.

does need a little TLC as arm joints are a bit worn and nose cone has been chewn on a bit, and have already ordered new stickers. but this is my first Original G1 acquisition which I'm totally happy with as it took some time to find a good one at a fairly cheap price too. also have ordered a original G1 Ramjet from the Netherlands which I'm also waiting on to put these two guy's together.

thanks janda, found the repro labels on eBay and at a pretty decent price, i paid $8.95 U.S. for some new ones and they include the wing and tail fin labels as well. so it will be an all round refit. will post some new pics as soon as i re decal him up.

Got a used one of those old keyring versions of G1 Brawn for $3 with the intention of scrounging the arms for my original Brawn which has been missing his arms for as long as I can remember, now I just have to remember where the Hell he ever ended up...

If anyone wants the Brawn keyring let me know. He's missing his arms, (obviously) decals and the actual keyring part, and he right leg doesn't sit in position in vehicle mode properly but it would probably be alright for a kitbash or repaint.

The KREO-Os were actually a lay-by pick-up from early Jan, but I just didn't post it up then and so they can go with my April loot. :D

The GBC Beast Wars game is fun. Make sure you play as Star Upper! That game is where my avatar sprite is from (although I had to colour it in) :)

So when I checked out that recent ebay auction for Beast Wars scripts, and had a look at other items Simon Furman was selling, I could not resist getting these. Copies of the two most important comics I've ever had, signed by the writer responsible?

I didn't have to outbid too many people, and I'm glad Sky Shadow chose other issues to bid on.

very intricate transformation, need to get everything just right. but there are some very nice elements that I didn't even notice till the instructinos said"put this here" but it was alredy there, the robot mode was very much not fully transformed out of the box.

How are his custom weapons re. his hands? The original swords are really tight, and a lot of people have reported them breaking the fingers off.
I really like the mold, so if they solve the danger of snapping his hands on two (and the head is cool to boot) I might get that kit.

They are fine, as long as you slide them in hilt first and not sideways through the fingers. My only gripe is that the sword is shorter but that stops the chrome from rubbing off when it's stowed.

and finally the piece of resistance, these 3 totally excellent guys that i was waiting on and may i might add they are the ones that made my TF Prime collection a little more sweeter.

and first is the Voyager Starscream, this is definitely one to acquire as he has so much detail on him it is hard to put him down as i have already transformed him twice and am still finding things that are little details that really compliment his cartoon character. the only thing that is bugging me is the weapon. it's like O.Primes on the Voyager class as it is really bulky and doesn't really suit him. IMO they should have incorporated into his ALT mode sort of like bulkheads, it just looks weird on top and a little to big to attach to the wing.which it can do . but overall this one is what us TF collectors will be proud of IMO.:D:D:D:D

I don't have another but it doesn't matter as 3rd party upgrades are typically not permanent, you can always remove it and go back to the stock figure. They are not really mods but 'upgrades' since you don't modify the mold, just add to it.

See... now this is possibly a case where buying toys from retail doesn't work so favourably - because in this case the value of this toy has clearly depreciated. ;) When Machine Wars first came out it was a US Kay Bee and KB Toys exclusive toy line - so a lot of collectors were importing them from the U.S. (back when the USD wasn't nearly as weak as it is now). I bet those people are feeling mighty silly now!











...people like me. :p To make matters worse, I was living in Japan, so I imported them from USA to Japan... then when I moved back to Australia I shipped them from Japan to Australia. Ah well. I don't buy toys thinking about whether they'll appreciate or depreciate in future. If I like a toy, I'll get it. And if it's not available locally and I want it badly enough, I'll import it. Simple as that. You know what the real funny thing was though? Of all the Megatron toys that I've had shipped from Japan to Australia the only one that got intercepted and inspected by Australian Customs was Machine Wars Megatron! Of course there was no problems with the toy, but Customs Officers repackaged the toy with haste and couldn't be bothered carefully putting the card back in properly, so they bent it in half to squish it in! :mad:
