Thanks mate, I'm aware of the faults you posted on YouTube and they will be fixed :) it was filmed on my iPhone in hd and YouTube squashed it... Have to figure out how to correct this. Will prob buy a better video camera soon anyways.

It was good, you just need to elevate the camera a bit coz the top part sometimes gets cut off especially when its the boxes ( not that I care for boxes mind you) at the beginning of each review but overall, it was good and well detailed. Btw was it you who I said I would look for G1 Optimus fistsin the Parramatta fair? If you are - I didn't see any this fair - just the missles were in that box of parts I usually scavenge ;) around in...

Were you doing a Shrapnel impersonation dude? :p - At certain points throughout the video the a word you'd say during a sentence would oddly repeat. :confused:
As someone suggested to you previously too (I can't remember who or where it was :o), maybe try recording an extra 5secs of silence both pre & post each shot/segment as the cuts are overlapping and/or cutting off your dialogue. :cool:

I have been leaving gaps where possible, but as I film the while thing in one hit and then edit the bad takes out it is sometimes unavoidable, even the best reviews have the same problem from time to time. It can be a fine line between the fade in/overlap and have dead air time.

I've watched a few of your reviews now and I like that you don't mess about and just get on with the review unlike so many other reviewers. It's also funny to hear you swearing when you're struggling to rotate a hand out or get a difficult pin to tab in when most other reviewers are so careful with their language. The only other reviewer I can think of who frequently swears is Thew and it distinguishes you both from the more PC and generally dull reviewers. It would be nice if you also incorporated a more personal assessment of the character, and how you think the mould fits him. It's something that Thew does really well, and in my opinion makes his videos really stand out from the crowd.

The only criticism I have is that you often start muttering or seem to lose track of your thoughts. It might be worth making a vague script that you can refer back to to help keep on track.

I don't mind the muttering and the loss of track in thoughts, it adds a much more human touch to the reviews. I think we have enough reviewers that just read off a written script and/or use jumpcuts for every sentence, or even word said. It's nice to have something a bit more different yet still has exceptional production quality (damn you got a nice camera there chris).

It looks like you can flip the feet down over the top of the blade feet to give him 2 overlapping sets of feet. I'm not sure if that's possible but if it is it would be the best looking transformation imo. Have you tried it?

You can if you put the dozer blade with the angel bit up (ie: the face of the blade down) so that the folded out feet sit on it, problem is they don't line up so unless you set him up chicken legged it will be misaligned to look right.
The way i have them with the legs in the blade (face) you can't unless you unfold the legs completely so the gearing is not touching any more then you can realign the gears so the front of the foot is only folder out. (again see pics)

A good figure with plenty of play value, even with a hollow back and a bland(ish) paint job it is a highly recommended figure.

Love this figure which is good as the main line has felt lacking for me. I think it may be the Japanese super robot aesthetic that sells it for me, with the galaxy convoy feel to it!

I recommend this figure for a bit of fun and a decent voyager figure with one badass sword included.

While in my opinion a weak beast mode (to clarify I like it, but thing it's not the star of the show by any means) this blue beast has a wicked Robot mode with plenty or articulation and attitude!

The space pirate leader of the star seekers is a very cool figure and a worthy captain to anyones pirate collection, looking at you cannonball.

Absolutely Brilliant set, Fantastic engineering in a tiny little package. Almost matching the G1 cassettes to the millimetre, these two re-imaginations hit the spot perfectly.

Jaguar has a advanced yet easy transformation that is fun almost every time its done. Posing is a little fiddly but once set it looks great.

Rumble is a perfect evolution of his G1 counterpart. With great articulation and plenty of personality. His weakest feature is the loose fit of the piledrivers, though a minor nitpick as once posed they look great.

Other than the storage for rumbles guns in soundwaves feet, the interaction with soundwave and the cassette accessories is rather week.

This set is Highly recommended any any form you can get it!

Though not the best mold in the wave, It is the only new deluxe mold. That being said it's not a bad figure in any means. Its has ankle issues and some have had issues with the swirls in the plastic. Mine is quite good.

If you're into dragons and or beastformers I definitely recommend picking it up.

Video Review of Beast Hunters Ultimate Optimus Prime.

He is one big super robot looking Optimus Prime! Anyone that loved Galaxy Convoy (cybertron Optimus prime) will love this guy! With the basic robot design blown up from the voyager mold, this optimus has a great base.
The 5 dragon head rotary missile gimmick has a great play pattern and can be a lot of fun. It would have been great if the gimmick was removable as it needs to plug in to work in robot mode anyway. But not a must. The gimmick makes the toy a little back heavy but once you play with it a bit, you will figure the best ways to pose.

The weapons are fun, the shield being a stylized dragon head is a very nice touch. The sword/giant clever is very cool also. Both have a great design but lack basic paint applications which is a real shame. Though a easy fix for anyone that can do basic painting and washes.

This Optimus is a fun figure with plenty of play value and great 'super robot' posing options for the collectors.
Pick it up if you get it for the right price.

Big Bad Dragon! A very cool version of Predaking from transformers beast hunters. Fantastic size and fun play pattern.
The weakest part of predaking is the lack of articulation in the dragon head and/or lack or a locking mechanism, Otherwise articulation is beast mode is fine. With a massive wingspan he is quite imposing.

Predaking has some really nice paint apps (see his thighs) but a lot of lacking areas too. Many moulded details are lost due to lack of paint.The budget has gone the the wings with I suppose is a required evil. He also has a bunch of cybertronian runes scattered all over him which is a really nice touch.

Articulation and robot mode is fairly good and mostly kibble free.

I do recommend this figure as the beast Predaking mold out at the moment.

Fantastic voyager figure. Has a very action figure feel to it and very fun to mess around with. The best mode locks together quite well and is easily posed, while the robot mode can be a bit of a pain with the head/wing assembly coming undone very easily. This can be rectified with an easy mod as can be seen in the video review.
Overall a recommended pick up and a fun figure.

Hasbro you've done it again. Well the robot mode anyway.
Shockwave in my opinion is a great representation of his cgi model in transformers prime, especially in robot mode. The H-tank mode is fairly accurate I guess but I am not a fan. I find it is the type of figure one generally leaves in botmode.

The Weapon gimmick is well do and fairly unobtrusive, also the inclusion of the tank tread come hose as a welcome addition. The Beast hunters armour pieces are fairly rubbish and easily forgettable.

Articulation and scale are fairly good too. All the articulation is good except the hip outward movement is on a soft ratchet will doesn't have enough detents. It is an all or nothing type situation.

Overall a great figure. Highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy the beast hunters aesthetic.

Another fantastic Masterpiece update to the G1 Favourite Wheeljack from Takara Tomy. Although not their best in my personal opinion, this release is definitely a very good all round release. Fantastic Lancia Stratos alt mode, licensed by the car company, which has become the norm on the autobot car releases.

The robot mode is very on topic, from the head to the wings on his back right down to the big slabs or car hood feet. The dinobots creator is well represented in the masterpiece line.

Transformation is relatively intuitive and once one has gone through it once or twice it becomes quite easy. Overall articulation is great and very well balanced. With nice detailing over most surfaces, a good example of this is the transformation joint for the wrist.

Overall 100% worth picking up for any G1, masterpiece or transforming robot enthusiast.

Masterpiece MP-22 Ultra Magnus

It's Mother F'N ULTRA MAGNUS! Whoa! Takara have hit this release way out of the park, with an awesomely accurate and badass Masterpiece of the City commander himself; Ultra Magnus.
As I write this, I have just received both Masterpiece Ultra Magnus and Masterpiece Bumblebee (Bumble). Both releases are incredible (more coverage on bumble soon). Magnus is a massive beefcake of beefynus, he hits the animation model perfectly with many improvements of course.

With both complex and quite simple engineering incorporated, magnus is quite intuitive to transform to and from both modes, the cab transformation may give you a little grief initially but then its a piece of cake. The biggest things to watch whilst transforming are to be careful when rotating the smoke stacks. But the biggest thing to be very careful and mindful is transforming the pelvis plate back and forth as it easily is stressed and in some instances it has broken on copies of the toy. My advice is applying even and gradual pressure whiles rotating the joint as close to the hinge as possible. Stress marks may still appear but it should help in the long run. One tip is leave the plate in its robot mode position permanently as it doesn't overly affect the overall aesthetics. See the tutorial video below:

Overall articulation is great considering how big and blocky Magnus is, the only thing he is really 'missing' is a waist rotation but that is really nit picking. Also with big slabs or diecast for his feet, Magnus is ULTRA stable. See what I did there haha. In truck mode, the car carrier is fully functional just the its G1 predecessor as well as a detachable cab with spots for Spike and Daniel to ride along. The carrier mode is capable of carrying four masterpiece cars (with the exception of hotrod/rodimus) or similar sized transformers.

One let down of a figure of this kind and price is the visible sprue marks in various place of Magnus body, most egregious being on his forearms. It may have been unavoidable but I wish more care was taken in removing them from the injection moulded sprue.

Overall Ultra Magnus is an A1 release and well worth picking up. I personally thing at a sub $200 price tag, he is great value for your dollars.

Transformers Masterpiece MP-21 Bumblebee (Bumble)

Wham Bam Thank you Takara! You just went a made old Bumblebee cool again!
This figure is the epitome of ‘good things come in small packages’. Excuse me while I gush, I love this figure. It’s engineered so well its right on topic and bumbles size makes him hard to put down. A intuitive transformation with some cool little trick like the top of the hood folding into the torso during transformation is fantastic.

Bumble has so few flaws, some have complained about the ‘hollow’ forearms from where the hand reside in alt mode. But this is nit picking at it rawest form, in my opinion its not that noticeable. The other issue is good old yellow paint and its inconsistency in application, that on top (pardon the pun) of being applied to different plastics. In pictures the colour difference was quite noticeable, but in hand it is much less egregious. There definitely are differences in hues but overall im happy with it.

Bumble comes with a few extra bits and pieces including a extra face plate (which is barely different to the other, a slight smirk), a spare wheel which can replace the small black licence plate on the rear. A small blue hand gun which will store between the front wheels in alt mode and if you picked of the Amazon or market exclusive versions, bumble came with a battle mask face plate and a Masterpiece collectors coin.
The biggest accessory is the inclusion of Spike in his exosuit or is it Daniel in his exosuit….. The debate continues, its FIBRIR/RIBFIR all over again. So we shall call him spaniel :P.
Spaniel is a great little inclusion but lacks some basic paint applications and a little articulation. That being said im happy he was included.

Bumblebees car mode is Very accurate to his real life car mode, even down the the single mirror on his left hand side. That being said, the car mode is not accurate to the show model. The animation showed bumble as a squat little bubble of a beetle opposed to the lengthier real life analogue. But overall who cares, because Bumblebees robot mode more than make up for this necessary oversight for lack of better words.

Bumble is a must have for any Transformers fan and transforming robot fan alike. I’ll be picking up any future repaints of this guy myself. If you see him for what you consider a good price, I highly recommend picking him up.
