As joint-writer for TF2, and was sole writer for TF3, Ehren Kruger has been confirmed for TF4 (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/ehren-kruger-confirmed-as-tf4-writer/24689/).

If they get the director back as well, the creative driving forces of TF4 should result in a similar format to the last couple movies.

Yay, consistency! :D:cool:

Well, the only thing I'm curious about now is whether or not the original cast line-up will be returning for TF4; I think it could be rather interesting to see how the films do without Shia & Co. ;)

Just be thankful it's not a beast wars movie. Imagine the "fun" they could have if the robots had animal modes;)

And with that realization all my expectations for this movie went straight down the toilet. I refuse to waste my money and time for a 3rd time(I actually enjoyed the first movie.)

The first movie was pretty good - it stayed fairly true to the spirit of the G1 cartoon and had a simple but coherent plotline.

Wait wait wait, Ehren is a dude's name?
Yeah, it's German and means honour or honourable. Some sources say it's a Germanic variant of Aaron, which is Hebrew for "exalted" or "enlightened."

If anybody needed proof that this was going to be yet more of the same, here it is.

One of the only real ways to change things with how the studios are making feature films with Transformers is to not give any money or attention to it, if their box office this time around fails then Hasbro or Paramount Pictures would revise their approach.

Or not have an approach anymore, I am leaning towards watching this one on DVD than paying money at the cinema. That said I enjoy the movie meet ups, Not for the craptacular movie (last one) that I saw in the franchise but the enjoyment of meeting up with fellow fans, Well that and wearing my Optimus Prime 3D mask, Isn't that right Valk:D

Though for some, that's not necessarily a bad thing - It's the 'Director's Filter' that is of the main concern IMO. ;)

If it's bad or good it's up to the individual.

Cave Johnson: All right, I've been thinking, when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade!
GLaDOS: Yeah.
Cave Johnson: Make life take the lemons back!
GLaDOS: Yeah!
Cave Johnson: Get Mad!
GLaDOS: Yeah!
Cave Johnson: I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these?
GLaDOS: Yeah, take the lemons!
Cave Johnson: Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down - with the lemons!
GLaDOS: Oh, I like this guy.
Cave Johnson: I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that'll burn your house down!
GLaDOS: Burn it down! Burning people. He says what we're all thinking.

Well that and wearing my Optimus Prime 3D mask, Isn't that right Valk:D
How did you get that mask to fit?!? When I tried it, it was way too small... even when I took my glasses off. :( Gah... I wish they'd make adult sized 3D TF masks. Don't tell me that the straps are adjustable and I didn't notice. :o

Btw, do you still wear that mask to 3D movies? Because my plan was to do that (had the mask fitted and I didn't refund it). Saves you $1 per ticket cos you don't have to pay for the glasses rental fee! (so eventually the mask will pay for itself) :D

I think it's good that Kruger was retained, to give some sense of consistency, even if the new movie is supposed to have a new 'direction' or 'perspective'. He did well enough with DotM, in my opinion.

I agree, it does get rather convoluted if you try and map things out, but I don't think there is too much stuff in the trilogy that's self-contradictory. I meant 'consistency' in terms of the 'tone' or 'feel' of the finished product, even if the 'new perspective' may have a different tone.

That's exactly my idea of consistency too, anyone who has seen Terminator 2 or Robocop 2 and then has seen the 3rd film will know what we're talking about. ;)

Thinking about it, those 4 words, said in a slow and very deliberate voice, convey the way I feel about the 2nd and 3rd movies.
